January 2020: The big enchilada

Some transits are more significant than others, and we are heading toward one of those in January of 2020 as Saturn conjuncts Pluto, along with the Sun and Mercury (and Jupiter) in Capricorn as well.

This will represent a major cycle or turning point in the world and our lives, especially those with Cardinal planets (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn) from 21-23 degrees.

The last time we had this many planets in Capricorn was 1990 when Saturn, Neptune and Uranus were all in Capricorn.

The last time Saturn was conjunct Pluto was November 1982 at 27 degrees of Libra. If you are old enough to remember this period many changes occurred including the advent AIDS, a disease that changed the world.

This conjunction rules Superpowers, multi-national organizations, and  organizations like the UN and NATO. It will also involve crime (at the highest levels) and large populations of people will feel repressed and rebel against it. This conjunction brings a shift in global powers and geo-political changes.

Expect propaganda, power plays, changes in world trade, alliances, changes in the world economic status and the masses will be skeptical. In the US we will likely face a political and/or Constitutional crisis.

In our own lives we will need to exercise patience, planning and good judgment in preparing for this time. I recommend paying off debt as much as possible and not acquiring new debt before this period.

Capricorn is all about planning, slow and steady growth and well thought out actions. We will all do well to act like Capricorns in terms of planning and thinking through our actions as we are in the time of Capricorn with Saturn and Pluto here, as well as Jupiter by the end of this year. Perseverance and stability is where the power will lie with this transit.

We will get a glimpse of what this conjunction will bring later this month as Pluto reaches 22 degrees the second half of February and Saturn will be within a 6 degree orb. February 19, we will see a stellium in Capricorn as Venus conjuncts Pluto at 22 degrees and Saturn is not far behind. We will get a glimpse here as well as in April as Saturn and Pluto are only 3 degrees apart.

Look and pay attention to the news at this time and we will have a greater picture and understanding of what the Saturn-Pluto conjunction will bring. It will be powerful and profound and the collective will be changed as a result.
