March 2019: Changing of the guard-Uranus enters Taurus

Uranus is considered the planet of radical change and it enters Taurus March 6, in the early morning hours where it will remain for the next 7 years or until April 2026.  This is considered a major planetary movement and will change our lives and the collective considerably over the next number of years. This will be the most significant planetary event of the year!
Uranus made its first quick trip through Taurus May 16-November 5, 2018 and we got to dip our toes into the water and experience the planet of unpredictable change in this sign.
Uranus in Taurus is considered at its fall which means the energy here does not work well. When a planet is operating at its fall the energy becomes much more active.
The ruling planet of Taurus is Venus which concerns love, beauty, entertainment, young women, money and values.
Uranus was last in Taurus June 1934-May 1942 so it has been 85 years since Uranus last entered this sign.
As Uranus enters Taurus we can expect to see major changes in the world and as Uranus changes signs changes  are typically volatile, unexpected, changeable and of the nature of the sign Uranus enters.
If you have fixed signs at 0-1 degree (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius) you can expect to see personal change this month. Uranus will reach 6 degrees in August before its retrograde.
Changes we can expect with Uranus in Taurus:
Money, possessions and finances. Shifts may occur either positive or negative in personal finances/possessions. This is a good time to look at your own personal finances, as well as what you can do to save, invest or work on improving over the next few years. We will see global financial change as well.
Society/personal values and our social lives. Sometimes friendships outlive each other and we enter a period where we need to seek new acquaintances. Solid friendships will withstand any momentary crisis. Our personal/collective values and what we hold dear may change over this time as well. Values will shift in the collective as well.
Love, relationships and marriage. With Uranus in the sign ruled by Venus many relationships will end and new ones will begin. There will be a surge over the next seven years of both marriage and divorce. A solid and well grounded relationship will survive obstacles, and weak relationships that are tottering on the edge will likely end to make room for a more appropriate union.
Earth/weather changes-Taurus rules the earth and is the most earthquake prone sign. Weather conditions can change and we will see changes in the earth itself, laws to protect the earth and food or agricultural production could change as well. We will be forced to deal with planet earth during these years.
Changes in governments and Geo-political changes-Uranus rules revolutions and coups as it is the planet of explosive change, especially when in hard aspect with Saturn as it will be after 2020. Saturn-Uranus transits relate to shifts in governments and wealth.
The entertainment business- During the last Uranus in Taurus cycle radio shows became popular and we saw beginning of the television revolution that changed the entertainment world and communication. Taurus rules the voice and we will see exciting new changes in the arts.
Far right groups and propaganda A stubborn resistance to change and a desire to cling to the old ways is typical of  planets in Taurus. Hitler and Mussolini came to power the last time Uranus was in Taurus.
If we look back at some of the things that happened the last cycle, we can have a greater understanding of the possibilities both positive and negative. From 1934-42 WW11 occurred along with the Great Depression. Drought and poor farming techniques were responsible for the Dust Bowl of the 1930's that created disaster circumstances in the Plains region of the US. The Social Security act was signed along with the 'New Deal,' Amelia Earhart was the first person to fly solo across the Pacific, women went to work in masses, TV and radio changed the way we see news and entertainment, Mickey Mouse appeared in color for the first time, Penguin released its first paperback books and Babe Ruth hit his final home run. These are just a few of the things that occurred.
Fixed signs (or those with fixed planets in their charts) will experience personal change at some point over the next 7 years with Uranus in this sign. Earth and Water signs will see change as well, but it will happen in an less jolting manner.
Taurus-As Uranus conjuncts your Sun expect personal change and to express yourself in new and unusual ways. These changes can include appearance, friendships and relationships, a departure from established routines and the potential of leadership in your career. You could be on the cutting edge of something and new ideas may rapidly surface.
ScorpioUranus will oppose your Sun, and this can interfere with relationships or partnerships that may have been previously stable. There can be an unwillingness to remain in relationships that are too restrictive, but Uranus removes that which has outlived its purpose. There can be conflict over joint finances and loss in financial speculation if caution is not used
Leo-Uranus will create a square to Leo and this can bring change of career, friendships, children, jobs and matters of priority. There can be a desire for personal freedom, and Uranus can shake up and change ideas, goals and objectives.
Aquarius-As Uranus creates a square from the 4th house this can create change among families and your basic foundation. You could move or change homes, relationships and jobs.
Mercury retrogrades
The first retrograde of the year occurs as Mercury retrogrades at 29 degrees of Pisces on March 5-28. Mercury will retrograde three time this year in water signs.
Retrograde Mercury causes delays, glitches, breakdowns in computers and equipment, relationships, slowdowns and brings hidden factors to the surface that must be dealt with. Plans and projects can be put on hold, miscommunication can occur, relationships can end or change, and cars, computers and other machinery can break down at the most inopportune moment.
When Mercury turns retrograde it is not the time to start new projects or jobs if you can help it, get married, engaged or buy high ticket items. Mercury retrograde is like a wild card and it is a time to re-access, re-organize or re-work current plans.
Often during a retrograde period new information is revealed, and we can connect with people and situations from the past.
Since Pisces rules the 12th house of the zodiac we can be in the process of finishing up long term projects or situations during this time.
As Mercury moves back and forth during a retrograde, it will repeat aspects to the same planet three times.
Mercury conjunct Neptune can create confusion, lack of clarity and worst case scenario-lies or self deception. The best possibility for this transit can be high intuition, creativity or unknown information can be revealed. The first transit occurred February 18-19 and this will repeat itself March 26-April 2. It will turn direct while conjunct Neptune on March 26.
Mercury squared Jupiter, one of the rulers of Pisces February 22. It will repeat March 15 and April 11. With this transit avoid friction with authorities and be aware things can quickly get blown out of proportion.
Think back to the dates these aspects first occurred and learn from the previous experience and adjust actions and outcomes accordingly.
Love forecast for March
Venus enters Aquarius March 1-27, and love energy will become more playful and adventurous. Love and romance has been about practical matters with Venus in Capricorn and now energies will be lighter, less serious and more eclectic.
Venus in Aquarius is open minded and future oriented. People may seem more aloof or even provocative, and there will be a more daring spirit.
Unconventional and unusual relationships that don't follow the normal rules can occur during this time. Venus in Aquarius does not like to be bored and those born under this Venus like to me admired for their future minded visions, uniqueness and intellect.
This Venus likes independence, freedom and unconventionality. It's important to establish a basis for friendship and for those born with a Venus in Aquarius the line is often blurred between  friendship and romance.
With Venus in this sign we could find ourselves falling for people we already know. Take advantage of friends and group activities this month as you could meet someone new through settings like this.
Aquarius is not as attached to its emotions as some other signs and we often rely on the head before the heart.
Jealousy and possessiveness does not typically go over very well with Venus in this sign.  The Aquarius approach is less confining and can bring a breath of fresh air to some relationships.
For those who find Aquarius too standoffish and not passionate enough Venus enters Pisces February 26, where it will remain for the next 26 days. Venus is Pisces is softer, more romantic and since it is a water sign-more sensitive

Venus in Aquarius will work well for Libra, Aquarius, Gemini, Aries, and Sagittarius. Venus in Pisces works well for all the Water signs along with Taurus and Capricorn.

Mars is the other planet that affects our love life and it also rules men and sex. Mars is in Taurus throughout March, and the planet ruling Taurus is Venus.
Mars in this sign is slow, sensual and craves stability. It will clash with Venus on March 21. Be aware conflicts between men and women can occur at this time, and one way or another sparks will fly.
Other transits in March:
March 1, Venus squares Uranus. This can create a shakeup with love or money. It can be restless and you may crave a different kind of experience or more freedom.
March 6, the New moon falls at 15 degrees of Pisces. This moon sextiles Mars and Saturn giving it stability. Pisces rules the 12th house, so it's time to wrap up projects and situations, especially as Mercury is retrograde. Expect delays. As this Moon and the Sun conjunct Neptune expect vivid dreams and there could be a great deal of confusion, mis-communication or even deception. The opposite side of this is spirituality, creativity and compassion. It is likely we will see water related weather extremes in some areas.
March 9, the Sun sextiles Saturn. Great for getting things done. This is a matter of fact transit.
March 10, Mars sextiles Neptune. Positive for creativity, spiritual pursuits and compassion can be given or received.
March 13, the Sun sextiles Pluto. Great for deep conversation, groups and getting to the bottom of a problem.
The Sun also squares Jupiter. This is typically pleasant but things can get blown out of proportion.
March 14, Mars trines Saturn. Good for accomplishment and gives the ability and determination to complete any project.
The Sun also conjuncts Mercury and this is willful energy. Ego's may clash on this day.
March 15, Mercury squares Jupiter. Typically positive but watch out for tall tales and overindulgences.
March 16, Mercury sextiles Pluto. Great for intellectual pursuits and serious conversations.
March 17, Mercury sextiles Mars. Good for sales calls, or convincing others of your point of view. A great deal of communication will occur on this day.
March 20, the full moon falls at 0 degrees of Libra. This moon will be all about relationships as Libra rules the 7th house of marriage/committed partnerships. The only aspect the moon makes this time is its opposition to the Sun in Aries.
Venus sextiles Jupiter at 23 degrees of Aquarius/Sagittarius and this creates a pleasant atmosphere for love and fun! At the same time, Mars is square Venus which can create conflict between the sexes! Sparks will fly one way or another. With Mercury sextile Saturn lending some stability this could be a time for clearing away issues so the relationship can move forward. We could hear news of scandals.
March 20, the Sun enters Aries at 5:59 PM, EST. Welcome spring!
March 24-April 2, Mercury conjuncts Neptune at 16 degrees of Pisces. This occurred the first time February 19, and if you were affected by it then, you will be again. As Mercury is retrograde until March 28, information is likely to be confusing, not forthcoming, or incorrect. You may become forgetful, spill secrets, or this transit can reveal previously unknown information.
This can be tiring and somewhat depressing. Watch your driving as this is an accident waiting to happen, and watch all communication. Check your email address before you hit send, and be aware that all you hear may not be correct, so don't act on it without checking the facts. At its worst this transit is indicative of theft and lies. We will likely see adverse water related weather conditions at various points around the globe. We will hear of scandals, lies and many facts will be unclear.
March 26, Venus enters Pisces.
March 27, Venus sextiles Uranus. This can be a somewhat exciting transit positive for new experiences in love, money and social events.
March 28, Mercury turns stationary direct at 16 degrees of Pisces at 9:59 AM, EST.
March 31, Mars enters Gemini in the early morning hours.
May you and yours have a beautiful spring!

Venus squares Uranus-Twists and turns

Venus is square Uranus this week, and this transit is exact in the early morning hours of March 1. The energy will be felt a few days before and after this transit is exact.

Venus rules relationships and money and either could take an unexpected twist. Some relationships will end suddenly and without warning, but there would have to be other indicators in the chart besides this one transit. Stable relationships could take an unusual turn or something different from normal may be in the plans. Uranus can shake us out of a rut.

As this aspect is applying (approaching the exact date) you should be careful about over-reacting to issues in relationships, or make sudden decisions you could end up regretting. Uranus transit often denote a desire for freedom 'at any cost,' that could seem regrettable at a later date.

In some cases this can bring fun and excitement for the day but the transit does not lend itself to longevity or stability. The best use of this energy is to explore or try something new and different even if it is as simple as a new restaurant, music or anything else that can elevate your consciousness to a new level.

Relationships that begin at this time may lack stability and should be allowed to withstand the test of time. This is prone to fascinating but unstable entanglements. No matter how great or exciting things seem at the time they may not be as realistic as you could believe while this transit is active.

This transit will play out in the world in terms of sudden and unexpected news, scandals, issues with finance/money and we will hear news concerning women. We could also hear news about the entertainment business.

Venus conjunct Pluto: Obsession and control

Venus will conjunct Pluto and this transit is exact February 22. We will feel the energy a day or two before and after.

We will be digging deeply into our relationships with an intent of trying to understand where we stand and how we really feel.
Pluto is compulsive in nature and some will feel obsessed with certain thoughts about their relationships that will be hard to let go of. Pluto rules sex, control and those who force their will on others.

If you dig too deeply its possible you could bring to the surface things that are better left alone or unsaid, as the ramifications can be long lasting. As Mercury also squares Jupiter things could easily get blown out of proportion and some relationships will end.

The possibility exists to transform a relationship at this time, but it would be a difficult proposition under this transit.

Worst case scenario a transit like this could relate to  blackmail, coercion, or physical violence in the worst case scenario.

Those with planets at 20-22 degrees of a cardinal sign (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn) will be affected to a greater degree than others.

This transit will play out in the world in terms of news relating to women, scandals, fiduciary issues and most certainly abuse of power.

Supermoon in Virgo February 19th

This month's full moon falls at 0 degrees of Virgo February 19. The lunar peak occurs at 10:54 AM, EST. This will be the largest Supermoon of the year as it will be closest to the earth. Supermoons have an affect on tidal forces and extreme weather conditions.

Virgo rules the 6th house of work and health/fitness and for many of us our focus will fall here.  Virgo is ruled by Mercury the planet of communication, travel, young people and pets.

The Sun enters Pisces February 18, and the Sun will opposes the Moon as it does on every full moon, amping up our emotional energies.

Virgo is the most critical of signs, and we must use care not to become too disapproving or fault-finding of others. That said, the same energy will give us the ability to employ critical thinking in terms of being able to have an objective analysis and evaluation of certain situations.

We will need this ability over the next few days as Mercury is conjunct Neptune and this can be confused thinking or unrealistic thinking and it is important to see the facts clearly before reaching a decision. This can be a misleading transit as Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion. It can also represent outright lies or self-delusion. Others may over indulge during this time.

Many things can be revealed as this transit occurs. If possible, my advice is to not make important decisions with this transit but wait a few days for it to move on. (This transit will occur again the latter part of March when Mercury is retrograde and it will be even more powerful).

It is important to use caution while driving as Mercury rules cars and trips, and this transit can confuse the mind or cause us to not pay attention to what is going on.

Venus is still conjunct Saturn and love and money (or lack of) will be the focus for some. Venus-Saturn is not a light hearted transit and many are re-accessing their relationships. As we move through the week, Venus is between Saturn and Pluto and either could cause problems or end relationships, worst case scenario.

If you can channel the energy in a positive way, this is a positive time for work of all types, as well as new health regimes or fitness programs.

We can expect major storms in some areas with Mercury-Neptune. Do not expect all you hear to be true or correct either.

This can also amp up psychic energy, creativity and compassion, and my advice is to go in this direction. Dreams may be vivid as well.

Predicting Love in 2019: Yes we can!

Astrology is a blueprint of your life that was created at the moment of your birth, and the transits of the planets that bring you together with the most important people you will ever meet were set into motion from the start. Of course, each chart is different, and there may be mitigating factors to consider in your personal chart, but we can easily predict the times the various Sun signs have greater luck in finding that someone special.

Mars along with Venus are the day to day significators of your love life. When Mars or Venus go into a sign that's favorable to you, your chances of meeting someone special increase as well as social activity in general.

When Mars and Venus are in the same sign and it happens to be your Sun sign or in your 5th house of love watch out! This time is extra special to you, as this duo doesn't dance often and relationship opportunities will be at an all time high.

Mars and Venus will be together three times in 2019 in the signs of Leo, Virgo and Libra. These planetary combinations can also work well for those who are in compatible signs. For example, Mars and Venus in Leo will benefit Fire signs, as well as Air. Mars and Venus in Virgo benefit Earth signs, but also Water signs. And Mars and Venus in Libra benefit Air signs but also Fire signs.

Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus often play a part in love as well. While Jupiter is considered lucky, transits involving Uranus can create events lightening fast, and Saturn can lend stability to relationships.

This year Jupiter will favor the fire signs through November, and especially Leo (or Leo ascendant) as it falls in the fifth house of love. In December Jupiter in Capricorn will benefit all Earth Signs, especially Virgo until the end of 2020.

When Venus is in your own sign, you should look and feel your best!

If you know your ascendant use this for calculations, otherwise use your Sun sign as both are correct.

Venus enters Capricorn February 3. This is good for all Earth signs, and especially Virgo as it will move through the 5th house (love).

February 14, Mars enters Taurus. Capricorn and Taurus are compatible with all Earth Signs. Virgo and Capricorn are especially favored by this mix.

March 1, Venus enters Aquarius. This works well for Air signs-Libra, Aquarius and Gemini,  but especially Libra as Venus falls in the fifth house of love.

March 26, Venus enters Pisces where it remains through April 19. This favors all Water signs, and especially Pisces or Pisces ascendant as it transits the fifth house of love.

March 31, Mars moves into Gemini until May 14. This will favor Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) but especially Aquarius as it falls in the fifth house of love.

April 20, Venus moves into Aries and this will favor all Fire signs until May 15. This especially works well for Sagittarius as it transits the fifth house of love.

May 15-June 8, Venus enters Taurus where it will favor all Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) especially Capricorn.

May 16, Mars enters Cancer, favoring water signs and especially Pisces. Venus and Mars are compatible through June 8, increasing the possibilities for Water and Earth signs.

June 9, Venus enters Gemini until July 4. This works for Air signs and especially Aquarius.

July 4, Venus enters Cancer until the 27th of the month. This works well for Water signs, especially Pisces.

July 1, Mars enters Leo until August 17. This works for Fire signs, and especially Aries.

July 28, Venus joins Mars in Leo until August 20. This is a spectacular time for Fire signs (and Air signs) as Mars and Venus are together. Make the most of this, as it will be the only time this year these planets are together. Aries is especially favored!

August 17, Mars enters Virgo and is joined by Venus August 21. This special time will last until September 13. This works best for Earth signs, but Water signs can benefit. Taurus is especially favored.

Venus enters Libra September 14, and this favors Air signs especially Gemini. Mars enters Libra September 4, and for 3 days

Mars and Venus are both in Libra from October 4-7. Mars in Libra favors Air signs until November 19.

Venus enters Scorpio October 8-November 1. This favors all Water signs, especially Cancer.

Venus enters Sagittarius November 1-26 favoring Fires signs, especially Leo.

November 19-December 31, Mars enters Scorpio favoring Water signs, especially Cancer.

November 26- December 19, Venus enters Capricorn favoring Earth signs especially Virgo.

December 20-January 14, 2020 Venus enters Aquarius favoring Air signs, especially Libra.

By referring to this guide you can plan when times are best to increase your social activity and focus on meeting someone special. If you are in a relationship it can be enhanced. Good Luck!

Venus conjuncts Saturn: Getting real in relationships

Venus entered Capricorn December 3, where it will remain until March 1. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, so during this time love energy will become more about obligations, and practical responsibilities. It is no accident the first part of a typical marriage vow goes as follows," I, ___, take thee, ___, to be my wedded husband/wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part." There is a time for lightness and frivolity and a time to view things with a solid presence of mind and responsible behavior. This is Venus in Capricorn.

Venus is conjunct Saturn and this transit becomes exact at 16 degrees of Capricorn in the early morning hours of February 18. We will feel this energy as we approach this date, and on the Full Moon February 19.

This can be a few days that gives us some restrictions especially in love, finance and our social lives. Some may feel a lack of enthusiasm and it is best not to take it too seriously. Other relationships will encounter problems and some will end altogether.
It may not be easy to interact with others, express yourself or participate fully in social affairs.

Saturn takes a realistic approach to things and there are times we should examine our closest connections to understand if they are serving a purpose in our lives. It is important not to jump the gun if you seem to come up lacking because this transit will pass shortly and you may change your mind. It can be a moment of reflection or testing.

This can bring a feeling of isolation or sadness. A relationship can be tested by distance, separation, financial hardship or an ability to connect on an emotional level.

A new romance that begins at this time may be based on practical considerations such as money, status or other factors, or one partner may be older than the other and like a teacher or parent figure.

Some relationships will end at this time, but there would have to be other indicators and transits, not this transit alone. A healthy relationship can become stronger as a result.

This transit can be a test of the relationship. Life happens and things occur we would rather avoid. An example of how this could work is your love one could have a job issue, surgery or some other type of situation that must be dealt with to move forward. In this case, this transit will reflect a situation that must be overcome and merely show a sense of duty or responsibility. If your connection is strong enough and real enough you will pass through this time with little difficulty.

The mystical life of Abraham Lincoln-the day that changed history

Abraham Lincoln, The Great Emancipator was born February 12, 1809, 6:54 a.m., in Hodgenville, KY. Ironically, he was born less than 100 miles from the birthplace of Jefferson Davis, perhaps his greatest adversary in life, the first and only President of the Confederate States of America.
While Lincoln's chart shows a man of high ideals with a spiritual bent, Davis' chart shows a man with very definite ideas, often fraught with misconceptions, unrealistic viewpoints and confused actions.  His view of slaves, or servants (6th house) shows strongly in his chart as an ideal he went to war with the US government over. (and is similar to that of present day Edward Snowden). His chart however, is not without compassion and greatness and like Lincoln, he was said to have worked to avoid civil war and secession before the fact.
Lincoln is a 23 degree Aquarius Sun with a 22 degree Aquarius ascendant, the sign associated with a 'world view,' and people in general. Aquarius is a fixed air sign, that is often found in the natal charts of politicians.
Lincoln's moon is 27 degrees of Capricorn in the 12th house square Mars at 25 degrees of Libra in his 8th house. This configuration describes the loss of his Mother at age 9 to milk sickness:, she drank milk from a cow who’d grazed on poisonous white snakeroot and the subsequent grief he suffered at her loss. It was said he never got over her death and was often quoted as saying, ' all that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to her.' Lincoln helped his Father make her coffin.
The moon describes the wife in a man's chart, and as it squares Mars, this would represent friction in his domestic setting and upsets in his tempestuous relationship with Mary Todd Lincoln (who suffered much depression) which is well documented.
The 12th house is considered the house of the subconscious mind (and institutions), and those with planets placed here generally need a certain amount of solitude and reflection. It is the 12th house where our shadows play out, often fraught with pain and secrets we do not reveal to the public. Lincoln called himself the 'loneliest man in the world.' With a debilitated moon in Capricorn he would have sought to control his emotions, resulting in his often perceived somber appearance. Underneath, this would lend itself to much inner turmoil, many upsets and sorrows in life, and  secret passions, good or bad that he kept private.
Moon-Mars individuals lead lives fraught with upsets and  and this transit is far from lucky or conducive to harmony or personal happiness. Melancholy was a part of Lincoln's life and he suffered traumas and losses that began with his Mother, included siblings and eventually several of his own children. Death was a big part of his life before and during the Civil War.
The 12th house is considered the house of karma, and his Moon square Mars in the eighth house of death would point to a violent ending in a position as exposed and public as his.
The 12th house shows danger, clandestine affairs, and secret enemies while the 8th house has a Scorpio connotation and shows death.(the 8th house is also considered the house of transformation)
Mars (along with intercepted Uranus in Scorpio) in the 8th shows us an individual whose goal was to reform, or transform his surroundings and world. Mars  Libra tells us he was a people pleaser and someone who would prefer to avoid confrontations. His personal motivation toward conflict was expressed in the  Libran statement "Am I not destroying enemies when I make friends of them."  He was known as a story teller who often drew a crowd during nights when we was traveling as a circuit lawyer.
Four US Presidents have been assassinated in office beginning with Lincoln. Each of them had adverse configurations from their 8th house that include Mars the ruler of guns, and Uranus the planet signifying explosive situations and explosions, chaos and upheaval.
James Garfield and William McKinley both had Uranus in the 8th house square Mars, and JFK had a stellium of planets in his 8th house including Mars, Mercury and Jupiter, all square Uranus in the 4th house, that shows end of life conditions.
In our time Ronald Regan survived a assassins attempt, but he had no planets in his 8th house, nor did he have a Mars-Uranus aspect in his natal chart.
Lincoln's Neptune-Saturn conjunction  lies at the top of his chart next to his Sagittarius  midheaven at 6-3 degrees of Sagittarius in the ninth house, which is the realm of ideas, religion philosophies and worldviews. The midheaven describes your reputation, what you are known for in the world and career.
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, laws, government, big ideas, justice and fairness and this configuration shows us the driving force, and basic outlook or world view that drove his dreams and hopes of freeing the slaves, as it was just, and fair. There is a spiritual connotation to this transit that shows deeply held views and the belief his ideas can become practical reality.
Other well known figures we are familiar with who have this transit include Nelson Mandela (Saturn-Neptune in Leo) and the current Pope (Saturn opposing Neptune Pisces-Aries).
Lincoln's own Jupiter falls in his first house in Pisces, the sign of its dignity, increasing his luck, spirituality and compassion for others. It also makes him intuitive, psychic and an attractive figure who was elected President twice.
Both Neptune and Saturn trine Venus in Aries in his first house, giving him luck, an attractive appeal, and a major planetary boost that would help to achieve his goals, along with luck and brilliance.
Saturn-Neptune represents the law he studied, (Jupiter and Sagittarius rule lawyers, judges and politicians) passing the bar with less than a year of formal schoolroom training all told. He had a brilliant legal mind, and spend most of his life as a practicing attorney and was a 1 term US Representative before becoming President. He held many jobs in life but most dealt with politics and the law, which is exactly what his chart shows him suited for.
With Saturn-Neptune in Sagittarius he knew how to transform dreams and ideas into practical reality based on justice, and this was his life accomplishment as well as the reason for his assassination three months after the passage of the amendment abolishing slavery.
Abraham Lincoln never joined a church, but sometimes attended Protestant services with his wife and children. As a young man he was a skeptic, but after the deaths of his children he became concerned with God's plan for mankind. He was private about his beliefs and respectful of the beliefs of others. Lincoln's friend Jesse Fell stated, that the president "seldom communicated to anyone his views" on religion, and he went on to suggest that those views were not orthodox: "on the innate depravity of man, the character and office of the great head of the Church, the Atonement, the infallibility of the written revelation, the performance of miracles, the nature and design of...future rewards and punishments...and many other subjects, he held opinions utterly at variance with what are usually taught in the church."
While Saturn-Neptune gave him a broad world view, tolerance, and a career in the legal field,  the same transit lent itself toward depression, which he referred to as 'melancholy" in his lifetime. Saturn-Neptune individuals often suffer from depression and anxiety.
Three planets in his chart lie in Pisces, the sign ruling spirituality and 12th house matters showing mystical traits and abilities. Mercury, Pluto and Jupiter formed a stellium of planets at 10, 13 and 22 degrees of Pisces in his first house. Mercury-Pluto gave him an intense mind seeking ideas based in spirituality and compassion of course Jupiter, in Pisces,  in the sign of its rulership making this stellium of planets very powerful in his first house.
Pisces is the most mystical of signs and Lincoln is said to have been able to 'go to the other country, 'in meditation, and had significant dreams before big events in his life occurred. He attended at least one séance in the White House with his wife after his son died, but there are conflicting views as to what happened. One account stated he investigated the medium to discover he was a fraud.
In I would still be drowned in tears, author Michelle L. Hamilton wrote, "A product of their Kentucky childhood, the Lincolns shared a belief in dreams and omens which they incorporated in their Christian faith. The impressions of the spirit were not lost on Lincoln either, whose sensitive nature, eager mind, and depression-ravaged psyche made him tender to-even eager for-invisible realities. During his lifetime he experienced dreams, omens, visions, and revelatory occurrences of nearly every kind and they did not decrease with age."
The most famous of his dreams occurred just before he died. Mercury square Neptune can symbolize an intuitiveness and Neptune rules dreams. In his most famous dream that was recounted to friends days before the end of his life he stated that he heard mourning and crying in the White House. Upon hearing it he asked a soldier what was wrong, to be told the President had been killed by an assassins bullet. A few days later he was dead, killed by John Wilkes Booth, as he sat in the Presidential box and the Ford Theatre on the night of April 14, 1865 as the Civil War was winding down, only 5 days after General Lee surrendered the Confederate Army.
April 14, 1865
Lincoln's chart clearly showed an attempt or attempts on his life, and subsequent death, and his chart played out as it was written, as all our charts do.
On the night of the shooting the main planetary influence aspecting his chart  was Saturn conjunct his 8th house (death) Mars at 27 degrees and square his moon in the 12th house(secret enemies), and this shows danger of death for an extended period of time. On April 14 however,  the Sun at 25 degrees Aries began an opposition to his Mars/Saturn in the 8th house square the moon in the 12th forming a powerful T-square- a transit involving 3 planets that would set off this catastrophic event aspect, resulting in death  as it showed in his natal chart.
Neptune was conjunct his Venus (at its detriment) at 7 degrees Aries, showing us a Venusian  pleasure (theater) and Aries is ruled by Mars, while Neptune is the planet of trickery, deception and theater and actors. Mars was at 7 degrees of Cancer square his Venus /Neptune where action would be expressed in an emotional-even patriotic manner, as James Wilkes Booth thought himself doing by killing Lincoln. Furthermore, he believed he would be celebrated as a result.
At 10: 15 the time of the shooting, the moon was at 9 degrees Sagittarius conjunct his midheaven, having just crossed his Saturn-Neptune (ideals) becoming the final planet to set off the T-square between Saturn, Mars, his moon and the Sun and ending his life and aspirations.
The Mystic Rectangle of April 14
Casting a chart for April 14, 1865 at 10:15 p.m., Washington, DC, the planets were forming a rare celestial event called a mystic rectangle that is in the shape of a rectangle (a pattern of 'practical mysticism' according to astrologer Jude Cowell) that would remain until he passed away the next morning.
This unusual configuration is made up of 4 planets consisting of 2 trines and 2 sextile aspects interwoven with opposition angles. Looking at the most important transits in the mystic rectangle on April 14:
-the Sun was opposing Saturn at 27 degrees of Libra in the 11th house ruling the government and head of state.-the original plan was to kidnap or kill the VP and Secretary of State, along with Lincoln, but the plan failed and only Lincoln died.
-Mars was in the 7th house of open enemies (JWB made clear to others his disdain of Lincoln. Lincoln was alleged to have made an earlier attempt to meet JWB, but was refused. Mars square Neptune in Aries in the 4th. Neptune shows theatre/an actor and deceptive plan, and the 4th house rules the country or the people of the country-home. Mars-Neptune and can represent death, depression, despair and the country was thrown into mourning.
Jupiter opposed Uranus at 29-26 degrees of Sagittarius-Gemini showing a sudden event involving a known enemy in the signs that rule ideas, ideologies and governments. Jupiter stationed to go direct one hour 7 minutes before Lincoln passed away and Jupiter is the significator of the Republican Party.
Mercury and Pluto were conjunct at 12-14 degrees of Taurus in the 5th house of entertainment. Mercury-Pluto in Taurus shows a younger male with a determined intention. The planets in Taurus would signify wealth, attractiveness. JWB had recently made the equivalent of 500,000 a yr in today's money and was considered somewhat famous/attractive/wealthy by the time of the murder, and was a Taurus himself.
The moon at 9 degrees of Sagittarius, in the 12th house shows plots, plans, those who would disrupt society/government.
Venus conjunct Algoal at 26 degrees of Taurus Venus was in the 6th house (ruling public servants) at 25.40 degrees of Taurus conjunct Algoal, the most malefic fixed star in astrology that lies at 26 Taurus. Algoal is associated with be-headings, or 'losing one's head.' The 16th President was shot in the back of the head, the bullet nearly protruding through the temple. He never regained consciousness.

Mars conjunct Uranus: Expect the unexpected!

Mars is entering into a square with Uranus at the time of this post and this transit becomes exact February 13th, at 29 degrees of Aries. The energy will be present before and after the transit is exact.

This will be a volatile and unpredictable transit, and it will affect those with Cardinal planets (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn) at 28-29 degrees to a greater degree than others.

This transit can give us a strong urge to break free of anything that seems limiting and can include relationships. Impulsive behavior can be a problem along with ill thought out actions and sudden anger. Self control and thoughtfulness will serve us all in good stead at this time.

Sudden and unexpected events and situations may occur and we will have to walk a narrow path toward deciding what is an opportunity and what is a reckless choice.

Many things can end at this time, often suddenly. Things can also come together as Uranus is called the planet of unpredictability.

Flashes of insight could occur now, but they will leave as quickly as they come so if it is significant you may want to write it down.

You could experience problems with electronic communication or equipment.

This transit can take the form of a day you desire to do or try something different or unusual from the norm. At best it can seem like a sudden electrical charge that results in an unusual and exciting day in some way.

This transit is an accident waiting to happen and use caution while driving or doing anything that involves personal risk. People will be prone to take sudden and impulsive actions without thinking them through.

This will play out in the world in terms of unexpected news and change, issues concerning the internet, revolts, explosions or explosive circumstances and violence.

This is part of the last hurrah of Uranus in Aries as it will move into Taurus next month.

Uranus transits often have to do with unexpected weather situations, even earthquakes. Aircraft and airplane crashes often occur on a transit like this.

January 2020: The big enchilada

Some transits are more significant than others, and we are heading toward one of those in January of 2020 as Saturn conjuncts Pluto, along with the Sun and Mercury (and Jupiter) in Capricorn as well.

This will represent a major cycle or turning point in the world and our lives, especially those with Cardinal planets (Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn) from 21-23 degrees.

The last time we had this many planets in Capricorn was 1990 when Saturn, Neptune and Uranus were all in Capricorn.

The last time Saturn was conjunct Pluto was November 1982 at 27 degrees of Libra. If you are old enough to remember this period many changes occurred including the advent AIDS, a disease that changed the world.

This conjunction rules Superpowers, multi-national organizations, and  organizations like the UN and NATO. It will also involve crime (at the highest levels) and large populations of people will feel repressed and rebel against it. This conjunction brings a shift in global powers and geo-political changes.

Expect propaganda, power plays, changes in world trade, alliances, changes in the world economic status and the masses will be skeptical. In the US we will likely face a political and/or Constitutional crisis.

In our own lives we will need to exercise patience, planning and good judgment in preparing for this time. I recommend paying off debt as much as possible and not acquiring new debt before this period.

Capricorn is all about planning, slow and steady growth and well thought out actions. We will all do well to act like Capricorns in terms of planning and thinking through our actions as we are in the time of Capricorn with Saturn and Pluto here, as well as Jupiter by the end of this year. Perseverance and stability is where the power will lie with this transit.

We will get a glimpse of what this conjunction will bring later this month as Pluto reaches 22 degrees the second half of February and Saturn will be within a 6 degree orb. February 19, we will see a stellium in Capricorn as Venus conjuncts Pluto at 22 degrees and Saturn is not far behind. We will get a glimpse here as well as in April as Saturn and Pluto are only 3 degrees apart.

Look and pay attention to the news at this time and we will have a greater picture and understanding of what the Saturn-Pluto conjunction will bring. It will be powerful and profound and the collective will be changed as a result.
