November 2013: Money, disruptions and secrets

As we begin November 2013, the Uranus-Pluto square becomes exact on November 1, at 7:13 a.m EST for the second time this year. This major transit comes on the eve of a powerful solar eclipse in Scorpio November 3, that conjuncts Saturn, the Sun and Mercury all in Scorpio and will serve to set off events connected with the Uranus-Pluto square that will affect the world and our own personal lives. (to read more about the eclipse scroll to bottom of page)  Events that occur now will change the makeup of society and the world much like the period of the mid-1930's when another Uranus-Pluto square changed the society and the world. Uranus was in Aries, like it is now, square Pluto in Cancer, rather than Capricorn. Cancer is about 4th house themes, the homeland, families, patriotism and ruled by the Moon. 80 years later Pluto is in earth sign Capricorn this time, the 10th house ruler of business, priorities, big business, and the opposite of the sign Cancer and the 4th house axis. We are in historical times that will one day be looked upon as the turning point in many different ways.

While Pluto rules the powers that be, those who would impose their will on us, Uranus represents the element in society that is not content to lie dormant accepting the status quo. This planet can identify many different types of people from the  single women fighting to make a living in a struggling economy, to the revolutionary in Syria who no longer wants to live under an oppressive regime and even the right wing extremists who believe they fight for what they consider to be right. It is world in which we all live now and will see much history made, regardless of whose side we are on. The world is changing and it is up to us as individuals not to get sucked into the rhetoric of the times and at the end of the day live our lives as the truest expression of ourselves we can, no matter what the circumstances to the best of our abilities.

As we begin the month the theme of Scorpio is prevalent as we start our journey toward year's end. Saturn, the Sun and Saturn are all in the fixed sign of Scorpio and Mercury is retrograde in the same sign until November 10.

These Scorpio themes will manifest in the world as issues surrounding death and transformation, taxes and insurance, money, and secretive actions by our government and others in our own lives. At the time of this post news reports are stating the National Security Agency has secretly broken into the main communications links that connect Yahoo and Google data centers around the world, (according to documents obtained from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden and interviews with knowledgeable officials).

By tapping those links, the agency has positioned itself to collect at will from among hundreds of millions of user accounts, many of them belonging to Americans.

Edward Snowden burst into the worldwide limelight on another exact square between Uranus and Pluto. Each time this configuration comes together, more information comes to light, and issues surrounding the NSA, spying, and the secrecy surrounding what the US government is actually doing is going to continue to weigh on the minds of individuals in the US and abroad.

Spying by the NSA is going to become a far bigger issue that originally thought and the amount of apathy in the US is amazing to many around the world. The spying programs being used now were started after 911 on a 12th house Saturn opposing Pluto configuration, which is a dark/ secretive aspect. This year as Saturn sextiled Pluto the spying went along unfettered and unhampered by protests but information will continue to come to light. (A sextile shows an easy path with little opposition) This information about the NSA and government programs has the power to change the way the US government functions and contribute to the downsizing of America's standing and status in the world as Pluto opposes the US Sun. The end result is yet to be seen. This is not a political statement in any way, but rather an astrological judgment. Most of us have no say in how the government operates, but politicians hoping to keep their jobs for another term do read letters sent by constituents.  The mettle of the United States as a nation will be severely tested over the next year.

I will leave this subject here for now, except to say America faces tough criticism in the world as Pluto reaches its mid-way mark in the US natal chart set for 1776, opposing the US Sun. The US is truly at a turning point in these days unlike anything we have seen before, and the next several years will reveal our future as a country.

On November 1, the Moon opposes Uranus around 1:27 a.m. EST, and this a critical juncture or hot spot of the eclipse in Scorpio as the energy becomes more intense. Another critical period is October 3, as the moon conjuncts Saturn.

November 5, Venus enters Capricorn, where it will remain until March 5, 2013. Venus will retrograde on December 21, 2013-January 31, 2014, with energy starting to change as the planet of love enters the shadow period on November 20. Venus in Capricorn will be more conservative in this sign as Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. This sign will work well for Earth signs.

November 6, the Sun conjuncts Saturn, and this is a serious transit, that can lean toward the negative.  Use this energy well and you can accomplish a great deal, but it will be about work.

November 7, Jupiter retrogrades at 20 degrees of Cancer for the next 4 months. This is called its retrograde station where the energy starts to shift. Retrograde planets do not work as well, or have as much influence,  and sometimes accomplishment becomes something that is more of an inward nature rather than outward. This comes on the heels of the eclipse in Scorpio, and Jupiter rules money and governments and we may see some backward action or efforts to correct situations, or empty promises.

Venus sextiles Neptune and this is a creative and positive transit for spirituality, romance or acquiring beautiful things.

November 9, Mars sextiles Saturn and this is a transit for accomplishment and a positive flow of energy, especially for work.

November 10, Mercury goes stationary direct at 4:12 p.m EST. Yeah!!! Bear in mind however this point is where we often experience more glitches and situations can be revealed that were previously unknown, as the energy once again changes. Mercury will remain in its shadow period until November 28, and during this period Mercurial energy will shift back to normal.

November 11, Mercury trines Neptune and this is positive energy as is the Sun trine Jupiter on November 12. Just don't overdo!

November 13, Neptune turns stationary direct, preparing to move forward. Situations/ideas that have been in our subconscious mind may begin to take form in the outer world during this time, and other situations we may have been unaware of may be revealed now.

November 14, Venus squares Uranus. Love may be erratic one way or another along with money and the financial markets. Some relationships could end, or you could meet someone unexpectedly, but this does not guarantee longevity. November 15, Venus conjuncts Pluto and this will occur more than once during this Venus cycle. Venus rules love and money and either could become create an obsessive or compulsive situation at this time. pay attention to this transit as in late January this transit will re-occur for a much longer period of time. Especially watch obsessive, negative feelings. Changes in relationships can occur, along with money.

November 17, the full moon occurs at 25 degrees of Taurus. Taurus is the natural ruler of the second house of earned income and money and for many this will be the focus one way or another. Relationships may seem intense as Venus is still close to Pluto.

November 19, Mars sextiles Jupiter and this is a positive, uplifting transit good for money.

November 21, the Sun enters Sagittarius at 10:48 p.m. and  will start to lighten up the heavy Scorpio energy.

November 23, Venus sextiles Saturn and this is a positive transit, good for business or stabilizing any situation.

November 24, the Sun squares Neptune and this is a tiring and confusing transit. Make sure facts are what you think they are before making a judgment. Better still, postpone important decisions until another day.

November 25, Mercury conjuncts Saturn for the second time, the first occurring on October 29. This is negative, tiring energy but good for focus.

November 28, Venus opposes Jupiter. Happy Thanksgiving! This is a good transit for socializing and the transit par excellence of over indulgencing. A  great many diets will start on November 29!

November 30, the Sun trines Uranus, a great transit to end the month. This is positive, uplifting and prone to new things, situations and ideas.

A powerful solar eclipse in Scorpio: Realities, transformations and letting go

We are in the Scorpio season and the next eclipse of the season falls at 11 degrees of Scorpio Sunday, November 3rd at 7:50 am, EST.

Scorpio is the natural ruler of the 8th house of other people's money, debt, taxes, sex, death and change and transformations, sometimes forced upon us.

Sometimes for a new way of life to emerge an old way must die, and often with 8th house matters we find ourselves in a place that feels like we must transform and change and leave the old ways behind or swim in a sea of loss regret and despair. Of course all transformation is not this dramatic, but as the eclipse is conjunct Saturn, we will be looking at the stark reality of whatever the situation we are concerned with is during this time. It is important to remember Saturn has a grounding effect, and once we begin the initial transformation process Saturn may give us great strength, fortitude and ability to plough through the obstacles that may be blocking our success. For many, this eclipse will deal with matters concerning money or finances in some form.

Scorpio is a fixed sign and its power and intensity comes at the expense of forward movement. It is slow to change, and slow to forgive. It is connected to the themes of birth and death, and Scorpio rips apart, sacrifices and then rebuilds. Scorpions in the animal kingdom are silent yet deadly, always lurking in the shadows until they strike.

Scorpio's ruler is Pluto, known as the 'God of the Underworld,' and it's co-ruler Mars. Mars will be sextile this eclipse at 11 degrees of Virgo making it an even more powerful eclipse.

While sextiles are generally considered favorable, Mars-Saturn-Pluto energy in any form is secretive, intense, controlling, driven, dramatic, determined and even revengeful. There is nothing light about this energy, rather it is a dark, strong force that needs to be channeled appropriately, and I would advise anyone reading this to use this time to set goals and direct this energy in a positive manner around this time.

Some astrologers consider Pluto to be Scorpio's day ruler and Mars the night ruler. The ancients considered Mars to be Scorpio's ruler, but when Pluto was discovered in 1930 it was considered a better fit for the distant planet because of its brooding, mysterious energy, making Mars co-ruler. Some astrologers although still consider Mars its ruler today.

Everything that is deep, hidden and secretive is Pluto's realm. Pluto is the planet associated with vengeance, revenge and deep seated compulsions. A Scorpio eclipse can bring out buried, deep emotions that may have been secretly building inside for a long while. As this force erupts skeletons may come out of the closet, secrets revealed and your emotional life may be put through the paces and show you what emotions, situations and even people are worth hanging onto in the future. Pluto is the planet that tears down, only to rebuild in a different manner.

The problem with Plutonian energy is that sometimes things and situations are torn down simply for the sake of tearing down, only to have to be rebuilt again in the future. True wisdom is in knowing what to tear down for the betterment of the situation to be rebuilt in a stronger way, rather than tearing down simply to destroy, wrecking havoc that is difficult to repair, if not impossible. This is a deep statement, but it is also very literal when it comes to channeling the energy of this most powerful planet. Emotions/conversations can become so deep, disturbing or intense there is no going back, so carefully consider your actions during this eclipse. Are you better off with the situation/person or without it?

April 25, 2013 a lunar eclipse occurred at 5 degrees of Scorpio, and it was conjunct Saturn. Eclipses repeat themselves every 19 years and the last eclipse at this degree (within 1 degree) occurred November 3, 1994, but for several reasons this year's eclipse will be much more powerful than in 1994.

Solar eclipses fall on new moons and often indicate new beginnings of some type depending on what it is aspecting in your chart and where it is falling. The energy of a solar eclipse can last a year or longer depending on the strength of the eclipse and serve as a guidepost to show us where our attention will be focused for some time to come.  As Mercury is retrograde, events connected to this eclipse may be delayed for days or weeks.

Eclipses do not always bring bad events, sometimes they bring good ones, again depending on where it is falling in your personal chart. The ancients often looked at eclipses as harbingers of bad news, and this can be the case although it can work the opposite way also, depending on other planetary alignments.

Overall, with the other aspects and the intense nature of Scorpio we will undoubtedly feel and hear of stress, drama and even tragedy in the world, even if it does not affect us personally. Eclipses always coincide with stressful energy overall, and especially in the sign Scorpio which amps up intensity.

Many events/situations will be revealed on this eclipse as Mercury is retrograde and the Uranus-Pluto square is exact which will bring changes within itself. The eclipse will reveal the changes and help bring them out into the open in both your life and the world.

Some will be letting go of certain situations, or moving into some type of transformative state. Relationships, sex, death and money will be themes that will occur.

Whatever the case we will not be looking at our own personal situations wearing rose colored glasses as Saturn is about stark reality. Once you accept the reality of any given situation it becomes easier to create a plan and move to higher ground.  Utilize Saturn to give yourself stamina, determination and resolution to move forward. As we move forward into late November-December, Saturn will for a trine, considered positive, with Jupiter, the planet of luck and abundance helping to bring stability and positive results to our lives.

Those born with personal planets and points in their personal chart at approximately 6 to 16 degrees of the Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) will be affected by this eclipse most significantly

The Eclipse Chart

This eclipse chart is set for November 3, 2013 at 7:50 a.m, Washington, DC.

The ascendant of this chart is 24 degrees of Scorpio showing a concern with money, taxes, death and the regeneration of certain societal institutions or values. (Obama Care is one such institution, regenerating the health care industry) The banking industry is another.

Scorpio's ruler, Pluto falls in the second house of money, wealth, banks and financial resources of the country, and is square Uranus in the 5th house ruling, 'high society', entertainments, children and speculation, showing a link with the national economy through financial speculation. Concepts here may be reconsidered along with tax reform and other financial systems.

As I was about to post this article I was listening to NPR and heard reports the Fed has proposed new banking rules requiring banks to keep more short term assets on hand that can be sold during a crisis to prevent another meltdown like 2008. The rules will be more stringent than international banking rules, and this action clearly is part of this eclipse chart. Uranus-Pluto brings change, and in this case it is much needed change. The Scorpio eclipse puts a focus on 8th house matters that include banking.

Mars falls in the 10th house ruling the government and leaders and is sextile Mercury, the Moon, Sun and Saturn. This shows communications/situations that may remain secret and hidden from public view.

The eighth house cusp of this chart is 25 degrees of Gemini, therefore it (8th house) is ruled by Mercury (retrograde) and all matters concerning money, taxes and debt may not be clear, or they may be misrepresented by politicians or those in charge or be ineffective. decisions made at this time may change later. Jupiter, the money planet lies in the 8th house at 20 degrees of Cancer but has hit it's stationing point before turning retrograde November 7, another indication decisions reached may not be lasting or what we are led to believe they may be.

The eclipse (moon) falls in the 12th house along with the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and the North Node and is considered the house of things that remain wholly or partially hidden. It represents large institutions, hospitals, prisons, places people go voluntarily or otherwise to be alone, and is considered to rule things that are subversive to the established order. It rules underground societies, parties and the mystical aspects of religion and philosophy are ruled by this house. The twelfth house is also considered the house of Karma. With Mercury located there, and the moon falling on Mercury we may hear news regarding transport, travel, young people.

Astrologer Jude Cowell wrote: "an eclipse (starting this series) did manifest on January 26, 1599 (NS) @6AQ19--and it has Uranus (23Ari25) trine Neptune (24Leo53 Rx), both creative Fire signs.

This is important because the initial (beginning) eclipses in each Saros Series continue to flavor subsequent manifestations of that Series, and the 16N on November 3, 2013 brings forward the Uranus-Neptune tone of their trine.

Utopian Ideals: Uranus (Science; Genius) meets Neptune (the Unconscious; Dreams)

So with its vibes beginning to be felt in late October-early November, 16N relates to 'a sense of inspiration; illumination of ideas; sudden release of material from the unconscious which brings with it a great deal of insight; these ideas are good and it would be wise to act upon them."

Philosophy today involves the political policies we see emerging in Washington, and Cowell wrote: "Ideas and plans that will radically alter destiny are under deep suspicion and critical eyes focus on past enforcement upon humanity of ideologies that were expected to be blindly and obediently accepted.

The November 2013 Solar Eclipse of the 16N Series will bring to mind the period between 1938 and 1944 (when Uranus and Neptune were trine) and the mass hysteria induced by the likes of Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, and Hirohito. Apathy and indolence (trine) of the era allowed the destruction of many lives and futures to be implemented by dictators who, like modern-day globalists, were determined to force a 'new order' for the entire world.

I believe that this in part describes what we're seeing on Capitol Hill these days and it explains the Republican-Tea Party 'crazy train' of bad ideas meant to collapse the most prominent nation-state in the world: America, so that a 'new order' can be built upon the ashes of the old. I'm not in favor, are you?"- Jude Cowell

Recent polls suggest Democrats may reclaim both houses in US elections next year due to the Tea Party involvement in shutting down the US government in October. The majority of Americans did not support this move. As events of this eclipse unfold, further right wing ideas may emerge that are considered to be subversive to society and law and order or laid to rest as being wrong all together, as Mercury retrogrades in Scorpio. That said, there may be other ideas/concepts that will emerge outside the Tea Party that would be considered subversive to normal society as well. The 12th house also reveals those elements, including people that are considered to be operating secretly.

Events involving children may occur suddenly and unexpectedly.  In the Aries eclipse chart of November 18,  Mars opposed Neptune from the fifth house of children and there was another school shooting.

Both this eclipse chart and the previous lunar eclipse on October 18 have numerous planets in the 12th house. This shows us many aspects involving our government and the 'powers that be' are operating in secret, and as a country we are still in the dark about a great deal of what can and will affect us as a society.

The US President meets with allies October 25 to discuss allegations of phone tapping and spying. It is ironic that issues concerning personal privacy now plague the nation that has been the democratic role model for the world.

On a final note, Pluto rules nuclear issues and radiation. We are again at risk of earth related changes and there was a reported earthquake off the shores of Japan close to the devastated nuclear plant October 25. We may hear more about that or issues concerning nuclear weapons.

Love on a Retrograde Mercury

Most of the time I advise clients not to start new relationships on a retrograde Mercury. Things generally begun on a retrograde have a habit of not working out well. But, what if you meet someone you really like during this time. Should you chose not to date them?

Absolutely not! What you should do is adjust your expectations accordingly and allow time to show you if this relationship will work out, and if the two charts support a relationship between you. What you should NOT do is put the horse before the cart, jump in with both feet and start planning the wedding. You will have to slow down and allow time to show you whether or not this relationship is valid or ever will be.

Retrograde Mercury is like a wild card. Sometimes we can re-connect with people from our past, but this is not a guarantee. It depends on what else is in your chart.

Retrograde Mercury seems to have fated effects, like all retrograde planets. In other words, what's fated to be will be and what isn't won't be. Sometimes this transit can bring people back together who are meant to be. Often it ends relationships that are fated to end. If this is the case with you, know that it was meant to be, at least for the time.

So, what are the possibilities of finding love on a retrograde and what will happen? You could meet someone, but never really go out on a date until Mercury goes direct. You could meet someone you like, but the situation never gets off the ground. You could have a relationship that goes great guns during the retrograde but dies down after the planet goes direct. Or you could meet someone that pops up every time Mercury goes retrograde, but otherwise isn't in your life. Or you could meet someone new and find out new information about them when Mercury goes direct. There are many possibilities and no exact scenarios. But, watch your expectations during this period and know that it may, or may not work out in the long run. You could change your mind about someone you are currently dating. Everything has a purpose, and the retrograde Mercury period is a time to re-access our lives. Perhaps there is someone you have known before you feel an urge to contact?

I would not advise joining new dating sites on a retrograde Mercury. Wait until it goes direct. Don't get engaged, married or make commitments you may later change. Otherwise, don't let it stop your social life, just be aware of the effects of this powerful planet, and plan accordingly. If it is fated to be it will be.

Mercury retrogrades in Scorpio October 21-November 10, 2013.

US Government reopens and the next debt crisis

The US government was shut down for 16 days before a bill was passed by the House and Senate re-opening government Thursday, October 17, 2013 as Mercury trined Jupiter, and Jupiter rules government as well as the Republican Party where enough votes were finally garnered to raise the debt ceiling. Venus trine Uranus, along with a grand trine that morning involving the moon in Pisces, Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn and Mercury in Scorpio provided the planetary impetus to bring enough votes first in the Senate in the morning, then the House late evening to keep America from defaulting on its debt minutes before the clock ran out which would have created global catastrophe and sent ripple effects across the globe.

Government was shut down due to objections to Obama Care spearheaded by Senator Ted Cruz. This was just one more partisan political move which will continue to split the Republican party that escalated in 2010 when Uranus began to square Jupiter (ruling the Republican Party) in the US Chart

The US was put on a downward credit watch by another credit rating agency, and there is every possibility the US Credit rating will take another hit this year as a result of poisonous public psychology that continues to split the government.

Unfortunately, I believe these partisan politics will continue, with the next episode occurring before February 7, 2013 when money will run out again.

Retrograde Venus will square Saturn in the US chart January 24-27 revealing money or credit problems and then conjunct Pluto within 1 degree at 13 degrees of Capricorn January 28-Febuary 6, 2014 and Jupiter opposes this configuration. This will relate to a struggle over money, the debt, women's issues, and it will not resonate well with foreign governments.

This opposition will fall directly on the Sun in the US natal chart, square Saturn. The Sun represents the President and his government and if US politicians are not extremely careful this period will usher in a period of austerity and recession. The most positive thing I can say about this time is that it falls in an election year of which all politicians are brutally aware and will hopefully take heed.

This furthermore reveals another serious political split and major fight in the Republican Party between extremist viewpoints with much grandstanding and drama. Unfortunately, the US economy is at stake and these transits are not good signals for growth or economic security, nor the safety of US Treasury bonds which have been a staple of foreign investment over the years.

As Uranus and Pluto fall on the US Saturn, this could reveal a split in the Democratic party as well as the Republican party.

Pluto will be part of a t-square (3 planets) opposing the US Sun, square Saturn and this  is a difficult configuration that will alter the political landscape in the US. There will be those who wish to tear down many of the values that have built America leaving the country vulnerable to foreign entities and recession for the sake of political ideologies. Eventually, Uranus will become part of the t-square, forming a Grand Square in the US natal chart throughout 2014-15 involving the Sun, Pluto, Saturn, Uranus and Jupiter, the likes of which we have not seen in our lifetime.

Additionally, the US government may be dealing with issues abroad during the same period.

Mercury will turn retrograde in Pisces on February 6, and if an agreement is not reached before the stationary retrograde period of Mercury the deal will likely be flawed and ineffective. I often think of the bank bailout legislation signed in October 2008 on a retrograde Mercury. To this day, no one really knows where the money went.

We are living in the days of the Uranus-Pluto square which will continue to split the two parties, and lead to chaos in the world, much like the early to mid 1930's. This transit will continue into early 2016.

When Pluto transits across a planet change is inevitable, but a difficult process. Pluto often tends to destroy only to re-build. Pluto transits tend to go through a tear down phase, then rebuilding, and like the phoenix eventually rises from the ashes to become something new. The question is at what cost and how much damage the American people will suffer through this process. And of course it begs the question, is it even worthwhile. I dare say the majority thinks not.

October 2013: A powerhouse lunar eclipse in Aries

Setting the eclipse chart for October 18, 2013, 7:38 p.m., Washington, DC, USA, the eclipse/full moon falls at 25 degree of Aries. Looking at this chart we can see what our concerns and issues will be overall in the US at the time of the eclipse.

The ascendant of this chart is Taurus showing a concern with money, taxes and even credit ratings and mortgages will be forefront at this time, and in proceeding days. There could be news about women.

This full moon lunar eclipse falls in the 12th house of situations and things that are secret, hidden, hospitals (Obamacare), situations/events of a subversive nature, opposing the Sun in the 6th house, ruling workers, trade unions and groups, and the military.

The Sun represents the President and his government. The 6th house, where the Sun lies also rules health and healthcare, public health, the and this moon shows us disruption and emotional turmoil among these groups of individuals (workers/military) and the government, and continued debate over Obamacare.

Saturn and Mercury are also in the 6th showing discontent among workers and transit/ trade and commerce at risk of being interrupted.

The twelfth house also rules spying, situations occurring that are secret and hidden from public view, and Uranus in the 12th house concerns things that are considered subversive, secret and hidden or secluded like hospitals and institutions. Uranus is the planet ruling electronic inventions, cutting edge technologies, revolutions, coups, electricity, explosions and explosive situations.

Uranus squares Pluto from the 12th house to the 8th house of taxpayers' money. The 8th house also rules death and transformation, or forced transformation. This shows us many things are happening the general public is unaware of and there are those groups who wish to force change upon the population.

Mars is opposing Neptune showing us we could hear news of a terror threat or crime carried out by a subversive group or person, operating under the guise of religion or a fanatical belief system.

Mars-Neptune often brings news of gay rights issues, sex issues, scandals, drugs (legal or illegal) chemical warfare and gasses, contamination, and situations relating to water, oceans.

Mars-Neptune transits usually show unclear or convoluted situations and information at best and it is dark, discouraging energy. Fanatical religious factions may be in the news.

Mars lies in the 5th house ruling financial speculation, 'high society,' pleasures, enjoyments, social functions, and children opposing Neptune in the eleventh house which shows a confused and unclear government/Congress. It also relates to foreign affairs and governments of other countries and shows us we could have problems in these areas.

                                                              ---------------------------------

A lunar eclipse occurs as the Earth is between the Moon and Sun, and is always on a full moon. Lunar eclipses are known to bring endings and/or a culmination of existing conditions. Solar eclipses are more likely to bring new beginnings, and we have a solar eclipse on November 3 in Scorpio.

This lunar eclipse may bring things to fruition or conclusion that started on the new moon October 5. The energy of this eclipse will continue to work for at least 6 months or longer.

How will the eclipse affect you?

This eclipse falls at 25 degrees of Aries, the natural ruler of the first house governing the self. Individual desires, wants and needs will be in the forefront, and our own desires will take on more importance.

Aries is ruled by Mars, the God of War, and Aries is no wallflower, nor is it subtle in energy or action.

While our desirers may take on greater importance, so will other peoples, and herein, the conflict may lie, and the challenges occur. This eclipse is about the first-seventh house axis: Individual needs and desires versus relationships with others. Our needs may conflict with others or vice versa. Relationships of all types that are tottering on shaky ground may well end at this time. Moon-Sun oppositions tend to make situations more emotional and can create conflict between the sexes if there is already tension.

Mars opposes Neptune at 2 degrees of Virgo/Pisces, and this will create foggy conditions and facts may be unclear.  Make no decisions/choices without the clear facts and entire story or you may regret it later. You may not know the entire story, or it could be distorted or misrepresented. Mars-Neptune is a discouraging transit, but at its best can transcend physical boundaries into the spiritual realm. Prayer, meditation, creativity, forgiveness and helping those less fortunate in some way are all appropriate activities.

Mars will cross Neptune slowly and situations may be slow to reveal themselves for what they are. Often, eclipses bring situations, people and events out into the light and reveal things, situations, even changes in our feelings.

Eclipses stimulate our mental, spiritual and emotion lives, but exactly what they may bring is determined by your personal natal chart and what is being aspected at the time.

Events may be delayed

Mercury is stationary retrograde on October 19, the day after the eclipse and it is at this point Mercury weaves its magic, gets its bad name and glitches of all types crop up. Eclipses that fall so close to a retrograde Mercury often cause events to the eclipse itself to be delayed for days or weeks.

Over the next six weeks or so we will experience two eclipses and the Uranus-Pluto square becomes exact, creating turmoil in the world and in our lives. People may seem irritating and others will try and bully or push their way around--don't let it be you! Many events will be occurring, some of them difficult. It is important to remember everything is about energy, and this is disruptive energy. The more you can remain calm and centered, the better your chances of successfully dealing with this energy. Now is the time to take control of your thinking, life and your situations to the best your ability. Change is in the air. If you can embrace positive change, the better off you will be.

Charles and Camilla: Big trouble

News outlets have reported Prince Charles of England and his wife the former Camilla Parker-Bowles are headed for a divorce. According to reports the trouble began when Camilla threw herself a lavish divorce party and was photographed on a yacht topless.
Whether these stories are true or not, a look at both charts shows us that yes, indeed there is trouble brewing between the two and it is big trouble.
The two married after years of engaging in an affair, that Princess Diana blamed for she and Charles' divorce.
Charles and Camilla married April 9, 2005, at 12: 30 p.m. Looking at their wedding chart, the first thing I notice is on that day Mercury was retrograde! Where on earth were the court astrologers that day? While retrograde Mercury may reunite old lovers at times, or correct situations from the past, no credible astrologer would advise anyone to marry on a retrograde Mercury! Charles, why didn't you call me about the wedding date?
The second thing in the wedding chart I don't like is Mars conjunct Neptune in the seventh house of marriage, which tells us the motivations were not clear or perhaps there were ulterior motives, or confusion or lack of clarity in some way about the union. Much gossip was occurring at the time of their marriage and it was likely discouraging.
Jupiter was in Aquarius, transiting both of their seventh houses of marriage, and it trined Charles Mars in his house of true love and Camilla's 11th house Uranus creating an exciting time in both their lives.
Jupiter transiting the seventh house often brings marriage if other transits don't prevent it.
Camilla has four planets in Cancer, showing her deeply private nature and a Saturn conjunct Pluto in Leo in her first house shows great determination, which would have been required to spend decades as Charles mistress. Their marriage occurred against all odds.
Charles Venus/Neptune are together in Libra, the sign ruling marriage showing us he is a romantic, but also that his path to true love/marriage would be a contorted and complicated at best process. It is often considered to be unrequited love. Venus-Neptune individuals are sensitive and require lots of romance but don't necessarily like the day to day details or issues that may come up in a permanent union.
His moon describes Charles wife and it falls at 0 degrees of Taurus showing us a woman who is tenacious and perhaps materialistic. His Taurus moon sextiles Camilla's Cancer Moon/Venus and works well with her Cancer planets.
Camilla's Saturn falls on Charles ascendant, and this gives the relationship longevity and shows us it is karmic in nature.
Charles Venus in Libra connects well Camilla's Saturn, Uranus, Mars and Pluto, giving them many fortunate aspects together, and these are just a few of worth mentioning.
Camilla's Mars in Gemini however, opposes Charles Mars in Sagittarius showing us the relationship can turn volatile and what attracts them can at some point repel them, and with this transit both individuals can act in a self centered way. Sometimes individuals with this comparative transit can become violent toward each other. Charles moon squares Camilla's Saturn at 9 degrees of Leo and indicates a coldness that can crop up and at times Camilla may consider Charles a drudge or Charles could consider her a burden.
Signs of grave trouble are shown by transiting Uranus square Camilla' s Moon at 10 degrees of Cancer at the date of this post-October 6, 2013. Uranus-Moon transits indicate sudden, emotional upsets that can be shattering, and sometimes this coincides with a move, or issues involving another woman. Being in her 12th house she may try to keep these issues private, but secrets are starting to leak out, and more will be revealed in the future.
Transiting Pluto opposing her Moon/Venus brings up deep seated emotional issues and turmoil and Pluto-Venus often indicates one partner (or both) is engaged in an affair. Camilla must decide what she values the most during this time, and if it is the marriage circumstances may force her hand where she is not in control of circumstances.
In 1975-76 Pluto squared Camilla's Moon-Venus while in Libra for several years. It is likely in these years an affair began or trouble surfaced in her marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles. Her biography on Wikipedia states she resumed her relationship with Prince Charles in 1979.
Pluto and Uranus will be in a square (90 degree angle indicating difficulty) until 2016 and the Uranus-Pluto square falls directly on Camilla's Moon/Venus, and when this transit is set off, as it was upon the Globe publication stating she and Charles are divorcing (see picture above) major events can and will occur that change life.
As Camilla's Venus falls at 12 degrees of Cancer, the U-P square is falling on both her Moon and Venus, showing us domestic turmoil, scandal and unhappiness. The Uranus-Pluto square brings the energies of both Pluto and Uranus to bear on her Moon and her Venus. The month of October will be a difficult one, perhaps one of the most difficult months emotionally in her life.
Late January 2014, Pluto opposes Camilla's Venus, exact, and this transit has the power to end the marriage or it will be forever changed. By late March, Uranus squares Venus bringing unexpected issues and no doubt more scandal. These two planets will continue to wreck havoc in her emotional and personal life throughout 2014. She will be subject to scandal and more personal revelations.
Saturn is square Saturn from the fourth house of home and family, and by the third week of this month Saturn will square Pluto which tells us she is in danger of threats and blackmail, fearful and paranoid. Often this transit shows issues with money and changes to the reputation for worse, and she may find few friends in the Royal family. These issues did not just begin by the way, they have been going on for quite some time.
October's eclipse falls in Camilla's tenth house of priorities and reputation and the November third eclipse falling in her fourth house square Pluto indicates big troubles at home and potential endings.
The month of November also brings Saturn conjunct Jupiter in her fourth house and this is another difficult transit that relates to unhappiness, potential endings and financial matters. This transit will repeat in 2014.
Trouble is seen brewing in Charles chart by Saturn conjunct Mercury in his fourth house showing us harsh communication in recent weeks, issues with family and depression. Throughout summer Saturn opposed his Moon showing us personal discontent and unhappiness in marriage, and worry.
Neptune began a long (throughout January of 2015) opposition to his Saturn during spring-summer of 2013, and this is a transit showing unhappiness, a dissolving of life as he knows it, betrayal and issues surrounding sex and joint assets. It is more than possible during the duration of this transit Charles may experience a death of someone close to him.
This transit tells us Charles is mistrustful of people in his immediate circle, depressed, and suffering from anxieties and fear. It shows feelings of betrayal, lack of confidence and the potential for embarrassing revelations and scandals. He faces secret opposition, and it can indicate public disgrace.
During November 2013, Saturn squares Pluto from his fourth house, as does Camilla's chart, and this is a difficult transit as well bringing change in the home life.
The Uranus-Pluto square falls on Charles Neptune-Venus in Libra showing stress and change in the marriage. Uranus-Neptune transits indicate lack of clarity, scandal, depression and sometimes affairs that are short lived. This is a harsh configuration that will change Charles home life and marriage, and reaches a pivotal peak in early spring of 2014.
The fall eclipses are difficult, and especially the Scorpio eclipse in November indicates a decision must be made about family matters, that may go beyond divorce.
By early 2014 Saturn falls on Charles 22 degree Scorpio Sun and this transit is never easy. A death in the family is a possibility, and the transit repeats several times over the next year.
Saturn fell on Charles's Sun in 1984-85, and Saturn conjuncts the Sun every 29.9 years. It was during these previous years his marriage to Diana fell apart as he revealed in a television interview in 1994 when he stated he resumed his relationship with Camilla when his marriage "irretrievably broken down in 1986."
Can their marriage be saved? Divorce among royals is different from the general population, but both parties have shown a willingness to divorce in the past. The marriage looks shaky at best as this post is written, but if does survive it will be a long difficult process with many ups and downs, and it will probably never be the same for either of them. Here's to the best for both of them, and good luck.

New moon in Libra: obsessions, compulsions and the unexpected and shocking

Seldom do I write about a new moon, but this one is unique to say the least. This month's new moon occurs in Libra on October 4, at 8:23 p.m, EST.

Libra is about balance, harmony and relationships of all types, and generally is quite pleasant, depending of course, upon what it is aspecting in your personal chart.

As this new moon falls at 11 degrees of Libra it squares Pluto and opposes Uranus, setting off the Uranus-Pluto square we all live under on Earth.

This means events that occur will be of importance, especially if it is aspecting your own personal chart. But, make no mistake that to some degree we will all feel the influence of this moon. Moon/Pluto transits deal with obsessive/ compulsive types of issues, and we may be focused on a person or situation that is hard to let go of. Pluto rules bullies, power, rage, deep seated resentments and even retribution.

Moon/Uranus transits deal with women, overly emotional issues and unexpected events and situations that seem to come out of nowhere. You may feel on edge, erratic, or be involved with those who describe this  behavior.

There is no doubt some relationships may end, but if there is a strong connection you may have the ability to work through issues and come out the other end stronger. In part, it depends on what else is in your natal chart. Positive change is possible but under no terms easy.

The moon squares Pluto, exact at 3:22 p.m. EST, October 4, and opposes Uranus at 5:57 p.m. But, by Sunday at 9:55 p.m Mercury sextiles Pluto opening the door to a more productive thought process and deeper communication.

Thursday, October 3, the Sun opposes Uranus and this transit will have an effect on the new moon as well. Sun/Uranus transits often have to do with separations, sudden unexpected change, revolutions and a desire to be free. It can be a transit of extreme restlessness and hard to focus on a settled course. Expect the unexpected with this transit, and it can be unsettling.

Setting the new moon chart for 8:34 p.m, Washington, DC, the Uranus-Pluto square is part of a T-square ( 180 degree opposition and 2 90 degree squares showing great stress) with the Sun and Moon falling in the  sixth house of workers, ninth house of laws, philosophies, medicine, (Obamacare) foreign affairs and belief systems and 12th house of things that are hidden and of subversive nature to the established order.

Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion falls in the eleventh house ruling Congress, and societies long term wishes, showing confusion and Mars falls at 23 degrees of Leo in the fourth house showing us and angry and upset population.

Reaching a compromise to re-open government looks tricky at best but by Sunday night the Mercury sextile to Pluto may be beneficial.

If a compromise isn't reached to re-open government, according to reports the government goes into default on October 17th on the eve of a lunar eclipse in Aries, October 18th, which will square Pluto revealing secrets, dramas, and major issues, in the US natal chart.
