New moon in Libra: obsessions, compulsions and the unexpected and shocking

Seldom do I write about a new moon, but this one is unique to say the least. This month's new moon occurs in Libra on October 4, at 8:23 p.m, EST.

Libra is about balance, harmony and relationships of all types, and generally is quite pleasant, depending of course, upon what it is aspecting in your personal chart.

As this new moon falls at 11 degrees of Libra it squares Pluto and opposes Uranus, setting off the Uranus-Pluto square we all live under on Earth.

This means events that occur will be of importance, especially if it is aspecting your own personal chart. But, make no mistake that to some degree we will all feel the influence of this moon. Moon/Pluto transits deal with obsessive/ compulsive types of issues, and we may be focused on a person or situation that is hard to let go of. Pluto rules bullies, power, rage, deep seated resentments and even retribution.

Moon/Uranus transits deal with women, overly emotional issues and unexpected events and situations that seem to come out of nowhere. You may feel on edge, erratic, or be involved with those who describe this  behavior.

There is no doubt some relationships may end, but if there is a strong connection you may have the ability to work through issues and come out the other end stronger. In part, it depends on what else is in your natal chart. Positive change is possible but under no terms easy.

The moon squares Pluto, exact at 3:22 p.m. EST, October 4, and opposes Uranus at 5:57 p.m. But, by Sunday at 9:55 p.m Mercury sextiles Pluto opening the door to a more productive thought process and deeper communication.

Thursday, October 3, the Sun opposes Uranus and this transit will have an effect on the new moon as well. Sun/Uranus transits often have to do with separations, sudden unexpected change, revolutions and a desire to be free. It can be a transit of extreme restlessness and hard to focus on a settled course. Expect the unexpected with this transit, and it can be unsettling.

Setting the new moon chart for 8:34 p.m, Washington, DC, the Uranus-Pluto square is part of a T-square ( 180 degree opposition and 2 90 degree squares showing great stress) with the Sun and Moon falling in the  sixth house of workers, ninth house of laws, philosophies, medicine, (Obamacare) foreign affairs and belief systems and 12th house of things that are hidden and of subversive nature to the established order.

Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion falls in the eleventh house ruling Congress, and societies long term wishes, showing confusion and Mars falls at 23 degrees of Leo in the fourth house showing us and angry and upset population.

Reaching a compromise to re-open government looks tricky at best but by Sunday night the Mercury sextile to Pluto may be beneficial.

If a compromise isn't reached to re-open government, according to reports the government goes into default on October 17th on the eve of a lunar eclipse in Aries, October 18th, which will square Pluto revealing secrets, dramas, and major issues, in the US natal chart.
