Two lives on a collision course: JFK and Oswald

It's been 59 years since one of America's most loved Presidents of the 20th century was gunned down in Dallas, Texas one sunny November day in 1963. Some reading this post will remember November 22, 1963 as the day Camelot ended.  Jack Fitzgerald Kennedy was riding in an open motorcade with his wife Jackie, and Texas governor John Connally and his wife, when gunshots rang out fatally wounding Kennedy and injuring Connally at 12:30 p.m. on November 22, 1963. By 1 p.m. the President was pronounced dead, and America descended into a deep state of mourning that would change a way of life forever.

Two days later his alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald was gunned down on national TV by Jack Ruby as the world watched, and many believe the true nature of the shooting has never been revealed and conspiracy theories exist to this day as to who was actually responsible for the death of the 35th President of the United States.

President Johnson created the Warren Commission—chaired by Chief Justice Earl Warren—to investigate the assassination, which concluded that Oswald was the lone assassin. The results of this investigation are disputed by many. The assassination proved to be an important moment because of its impact on the nation and the ensuing political repercussions. (Wikipedia) However, the HSCA (United States House Select Committee on Assassinations) concluded that those investigations were flawed and that Kennedy was probably assassinated as the result of a conspiracy.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 at 3:00 p.m in Brookline, Ma.  He had a 7 degree Gemini Sun with a Venus in Gemini falling next to his Sun which accounts for his charm and charisma with the ladies and the public as well. His womanizing and affairs that were so prevalent during his Presidency the Secret Service was said to have no control over who entered the White House during his reign.

His Virgo moon falls at 17 degrees in his 11th house of groups and trines his Mars/Mercury in Taurus accounting for his skills as a great orator, but as Virgo rules the 6th house of health, he suffered from various health issues all of his life.

The most astounding thing about President Kennedy's chart is the fact that 5 out of 10 planets fall in his 8th house that include Mars, Mercury and Jupiter in Taurus, and his Sun/Venus in Gemini.

The 8th house rules death, regeneration, sex, other people's money and inheritance, and has a connection to the mysteries of life, deep knowledge and secrets. Mars and Mercury lie at 18-20 degrees of Taurus in a conjunction, and these planets square Uranus which lies at 23 degrees of Aquarius just outside the cusp of his 5th house in Aquarius. Uranus was stationing retrograde on the day of his birth and Mercury was stationing direct on the same day making this a powerful combination! Uranus square Mercury made him a brilliant politician and speaker. He had many ideas and was responsible for initiating Project Apollo which would culminate in the moon landing in 1969, and Uranus rules spacecraft.

Kennedy lived out his life as the wealthy son of a businessman, investor and ultimately US President. He was known throughout the years as a man with many mistresses that included Marylin Monroe and Judith Campbell, Marlene Dietrich, Mimi Alford and Jackie's press secretary Pam Turnure to name a few.

Anyone born with the Sun in the 8th house tends to live lives characterized by intensity, drama and crisis. During his Presidency events included the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Civil Rights Movement, the building of the Berlin Wall and the Vietnam War.

As a youngster Kennedy was beset with health problems that included colitis, and later back problems, Addison's disease and hypothyroidism.  His elder brother died at age 29, and early in his marriage Jackie suffered a stillbirth and he lost a second son.

The fatal configuration in his chart that spelled out his assassination was the square (90 degree angle)  between Mars/Mercury at 18-20 degrees of Taurus in his 8th house and Uranus at 23 degrees of Aquarius in his 4th house, which rules end of life. Mercury, Mars and Uranus in such a configuration indicates risk taking, accidents, guns and explosive incidents. Those with planets in the 8th house, especially the Sun often leave a legacy that lives on long after death.

Lee Harvey Oswald was born October 18, 1939 in New Orleans, La.

He was a former marine who defected to the Soviet Union in October 1959 until June of 1962. Oswald was initially arrested for the murder of police officer J. D. Tippit, who was killed on a Dallas street approximately 45 minutes after President Kennedy was shot. Oswald would later be charged with the assassination of President Kennedy as well, but denied involvement in either of the killings. Two days later, while being transferred from police headquarters to the county jail, Oswald was shot and killed by Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby in full view of television cameras broadcasting live.(Wikipedia)

Oswald had a 24 degree Libra Sun in the 4th house opposed by a retrograde Saturn in Aries at 28 degrees. These individuals often see challenges where they do not exist, and need constant reassurance of their self-worth which is often low. The Father may be non-existent or abusive in some way.

His moon lies in Capricorn in the 7th house in the sign of its detriment. The moon shows our emotional life and outlook and Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. Moon-Saturn, or moon in Capricorn individuals can appear cold and have a hard time expressing emotions, or they can be insecure. Achievement can be the most important thing in life, and perhaps even more so if they are not successful.

Like JFK, Oswald has a complex chart with difficult angles, and what stands out are three major oppositions which involve a T-square with  Mars, Pluto and Mercury. Oppositions and T-squares are stressful aspects, but t-squares are often found in the charts of successful people and are often considered 'drivers' toward success. In Oswald's case he was successful in assassinating the President of the United States, but otherwise considered a loser, and we can trace his problems to the T-square and three major oppositions in his chart. With transits like this an individual would either give in to the stress of the T-square pattern and succumb to the oppositional energies at work, or take the same energy and allow it to drive him toward success. In a strange way Oswald did both. According to reports and documentaries he was driven to do something that lifted him out of the mundane, and he was quoted in one documentary as saying he wanted to do something people would remember for a thousand years.

You can understand a T-square like this: There is a 180 degree opposition, and both are making a 90 degree square to a third planet, like an isosceles triangle!

In a T-square, the planet that is at the apex that squares both ends of the opposition functions as the catalyst in the entire configuration, mediating between the planets in opposition. This is an open, unstable, stressful aspect pattern. In the case of Oswald those planets that are both being aspected are Mercury and Venus at 6-11 degrees of Scorpio, squared by Pluto and Mars.

Oswald's Mercury which rules thinking and the mind- was in the most intense of signs: Scorpio, along with Venus which is considered at its detriment in Scorpio.

On one end these planets are squared by Pluto at 2 degrees of Leo which would show a person  with impatience toward others who do not think as they do. Skepticism and cynicism turns into fanaticism, and obsession and mental turmoil. An inner restlessness can drive the native to obsessive searches for knowledge and a preoccupation with death. Venus-Pluto shows jealousy and conflict in relationships, and can indicate abuse toward women in a man's chart.( Not all men with this transit abuse women-Oswald was reported to be abusive toward his Russian wife)

On the other end Mars squares his Venus, debilitated in Scorpio, and again showing lack of a stable relationship/money and of even greater concern, Mars squares Mercury making him mentally over sensitive, verbally abusive, and constantly upset.

Mars also opposes Pluto from the 8th house in the T-square and this shows an obsessive nature and a tendency to think about death along with the potential for violence.

There is actually a second T-square in his chart using an orb of 9 degrees that involves Mercury and Mars at 11 degrees of Scorpio/Aquarius and Uranus at 20 degrees of Taurus. Uranus makes him/the configuration mentally unpredictable, unstable and prone to outbursts of violent behavior.

The general definition of Mars-Mercury-Uranus is unpredictable violent situations and Mars rules guns. His life was a powder keg ready to explode.

Like JFK's transit, Oswald's Mercury-Uranus transit can be indicative of brilliance, but it can also indicate scattered thinking and it has been written this transit can give genius for incurring the wrath of others. This transit can cause the individual to assume his opinions are the only valid ones, refuse to compromise with others, and thinking can become unbalanced. As a child, Oswald was described by several people who knew him as withdrawn and temperamental. Oswald attended the 7th grade but was often truant, which led to a psychiatric assessment at a juvenile reformatory. The reformatory psychiatrist, described Oswald as immersed in a "vivid fantasy life, turning around the topics of omnipotence and power, through which [Oswald] tries to compensate for his present shortcomings and frustrations, and detected a "personality pattern disturbance with schizoid features and passive-aggressive tendencies and recommended continued treatment. In January 1954, Oswald's mother returned to New Orleans, taking Oswald with her withdrawing him from treatment.

Based in the configurations in his chart Oswald was an unhappy man, obsessed, mentally unstable and desirous of committing an act that would bring notoriety or fame without regard to who was harmed in the process.

A T-square is a powerful aspect as stated before. An individual with such a configuration would sink or swim in life, is one way of looking at it. JFK himself had a square between Uranus, Mars and Mercury in fixed signs like Oswald and reacted much differently to this energy! Of course conditioning, education and wealth impacted his decisions in life.

The configurations is Oswald's chart manifested themselves in a fatal way with JFK's chart.

Taking the T-square involving Uranus, Mars and Mercury in Oswald's chart and placing it over JFK's chart it falls directly on JFK's Mars-Mercury in his 8th house of death!

Uranus-Mars-Mercury is a violent combination of planets that pre-disposed the individuals toward a violent synasty.  Additionally, Oswald's Saturn squared JFK's Saturn showing coldness, competition, and possible paranoia toward JFK's approach in handling national matters.

Oswald's Pluto in Leo conjuncted JFK's Neptune in Leo which between two individuals shows concern with large scale political, economic and social changes that affect humanity as a whole. It is said natives with this configuration can share in some way a common destiny shaped by large scale forces  of change within society.

There are other aspects too numerous to mention at this time. Destiny played out between these two men and society was made all the worse for it.

For the record, I do not personally believe Oswald acted alone. The Warren Commission was either duped, or did not want to release all of the information to the public.

To all those who remember this infamous day in history, and to those who only hear and read about it; this day is remembered as the day America lost its innocence and hope for which it has yet to recover.

Mars opposes Uranus and a powerful lunar eclipse

The full moon this month falls on November 19th at 27 degrees of Taurus and this is a lunar eclipse. Taurus/Scorpio rule the 2nd/8th house axis of money, taxes, joint finances, other people’s money, possessions and values. The new moon in Scorpio and the Taurus eclipse set off a series of eclipses in Scorpio and Taurus that will continue into 2024, showing us there will be a greater focus on money, possessions and values over the next few years. The North and South nodes are mathematical points in astrology that show us our collective destiny and in January 2022, they will also shift into Taurus/Scorpio. The eclipses and the Nodes are pointing toward a collective interest or concern over money/finances and what we value the most over the next few years, and we will be forced to collectively decide.

The solar eclipse occurs in the early morning hours of November 19th, (EDT) and it falls at 27 degrees of Taurus. Taurus rules the 2nd house of money and its planetary ruler is Venus, the planet of money and love. Many people will be focused on money or love at this time. Its affects are different for each person depending on where this eclipse falls in your personal natal chart.

Eclipses are like wildcards, and one of the ways we learn how and what we need to change and evolve. An eclipse can seem positive or negative, depending on what it aspects in your personal chart and often an eclipse is dramatic, or reveals important information if it aspects a significant point in your own chart or if some other transit is exact in your chart at the same time.  An eclipse often brings news pertaining to life's biggest events. The energy of an eclipse can go for months and in some cases years.

With an eclipse we have both endings and beginnings. A solar eclipse is more like a new beginning, and it is always a new moon. A lunar eclipse can bring news of endings and it is associated with a full moon.

Almost always unexpected information comes to light and at this time something may be eclipsed completely out of your life, or into your life.

Another eclipse like this one occurred November 19, 2002. Solar eclipses repeat themselves every 19 years and if you can remember what was happening then, you may have a clue as to how this eclipse will affect you this time around.

This eclipse conjuncts fixed star Algol. Algol is associated with ‘losing ones head.’ In today’s world this is primarily metaphorical, but this star is associated with misfortune, violence and brutality.  Typically, those who live an authentic life with a sense of fairness and justice as not so affected by this star as those who operate from a debased sense of humanity and greed.

Venus is sextile Mars, so sparks can fly in your love and social life. Mars is however, still within orb of its opposition to Uranus that was exact November 17th, so things could change or not go as planned.

Mars opposing Uranus can be a desire to liberate yourself from something or even someone. It is prone to unexpected events that can occur and it can be volatile. At worst this could be some sort of attack or argument that seems to come out of the blue.  Use caution as this transit is also accident prone.

Mars is in its opposition to Uranus over the next few days. The closer we get to the eclipse the more volatile and changeable things will get this week. It may well be somewhat of a wild week, but do not assume it will be a negative week.

Mars-Uranus will play out in the world in terms of volatility and unexpected events, and it is prone to violence, police related events and anger. The eclipse in Taurus could point to news concerning the stock or financial markets over the next month.

Venus in Capricorn and retrograde!

Venus enters Capricorn November 5th, leaving Sagittarius behind for another year. Venus will remain in this sign until March 6, 2022 due to its December retrograde.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of structure, work and responsibility and this will set the tone with our love interests as well as our values and the way we approach money matters and work until March of next year.

Venus in Capricorn gives love and social activities a more traditional, enduring and committed flavor. The focus will shift from fun and good times (Sagittarius) to the more practical side of love, which is of course necessary if there is to be a future together.  For example, rather than spending on a 10 day cruise with your significant other, you may decide to save for a home or something else significant and lasting.

Sometimes there can be a desire for social prestige and attraction to those in positions of authority with Venus in this sign. Venus in Capricorn is attracted to wealth, security and status and if you are currently not in a relationship you may be attracted to someone in connection with work or in places of commerce. With Venus in Capricorn, ambition and work are front and center.

Love and friendships may take on a more committed or serious tone during this period. Many will be looking for ways to make our lives and loves more real in a tangible sense.

Venus in Capricorn is interested in the practical side of love and romance. Our focus may shift to a more traditional outlook and concerns with questions like where would we live and how do we pay for it?

Venus in Capricorn likes financial security and a successful partner will sweeten the deal. Romance can be overshadowed by responsibility which will generally come first while Venus transits this sign. Since Capricorn can be known as a workaholic, we may have to slow down a bit to smell the roses as Venus will be in this sign for nearly 3 months.

Venus-Capricorn takes a more mature approach to relationships and love which must be earned while Venus is in this sign. Relationships will be built on a willingness to work together through difficult times, as Saturn understands the true meaning and value of commitment. Venus will reward hard work in relationships by defining obstacles and making the commitment together to solve them.

Venus in a Saturn ruled sign may not sound appealing to some, but it projects its own type of warmth, stability and security in an Earthy type of way. If you meet someone new practical concerns and stability will have a place if the relationship is to endure. Now is the time to focus on this part of your relationship and make it more substantive, lasting and real.

Venus retrograde

Venus turns retrograde December 19th through January 29, 2022. During this time we will be re-thinking matters concerning relationships and whether or not they are serving our needs. To know more about what this powerful retrograde will do in your life it is important to know the part of your personal chart that is ruled by Capricorn.

Venus retrograde is not the time to buy art, have cosmetic surgery or purchase anything expensive that relates to beauty, or get married or engaged. Venus rules love, money, values and our social lives, so all of these areas may be affected when the planet of love and values changes direction.

Venus retrogrades every 18 months, and retrogrades in the same sign every 8 years so the last retrograde we experienced in Capricorn was December 21st, 2013-January 31st, 2014. If you recall what happened at this time, there could be a re-occurring theme during this retrograde. Venus-Capricorn also relates to money, work and aesthetics so these areas of life may be affected as well.

Venus retrograde and its karmic affect

During Venus’s retrograde we can gain more clarity as to where we are going and who we are going there with as we reconsider the themes Venus brings up in our lives.

Venus retrograde is a karmic period and love can take some dramatic shifts one way or another.  Some relationships will end, and others will come back together. If a relationship comes back together it was meant to, and if one ends at this time, it is granting you the freedom to find someone more appropriate. What happens during a retrograde of Venus is typically what is meant to happen, and the ‘fate’ of the relationship often plays out in some dramatic ways. The past and those from the past are often connected with retrograde planets, including Venus and you could experience many trips down memory lane or connect with those from past times.

Venus conjunct Pluto

Venus will conjunct Pluto several times during this retrograde period. The first conjunction occurs December 25th, Christmas Day but the energy of this powerful transit will be with us much of December, and this Venus-Pluto cycle will not actually complete until March 3rd, 2022.

With Venus conjunct Pluto we will be inclined to look beneath the surface in terms of relationships, resources, personal values, and aesthetics. By doing this we have a chance to figure out what is really working and what is not. Obsession can become a theme with this aspect along with jealousy, suspicion and mistrust.

Under a Venus-Pluto transit we are often involved with the ‘shadow side’ concerning all of the above mentioned areas. This can include issues relating to sex, money or power, and who holds the power in your relationships. It can also bring up issues relating to fear or loss, manipulation and obsessions. The more we face the shadow side of these issues the greater our chances of attracting those things that are truly wanted and needed, but first we must face the fears to transform our thoughts and ideas about what we really want. The more honest you are about your real feelings to yourself and others the sooner you can let go of fears, feelings of betrayal, or other negative emotions from the past that can affect the future as well as the present. By delving beneath the surface you could discover that you are holding onto past painful circumstances, relationships or negative situations that continue to hold you back. This can create a type of new beginning that could help you determine what actually empowers you, and what drags you down, along with what you need to let go of.

It is important to look into the shadows and face what you see. This is a challenging and deep process. For example, what is really behind the deeply addictive sexual allure with the ex that keeps returning after lengthy separations? Is this really empowering you, or is it just a painful scenario that continues to occur over and over?  Many things will be uncovered on a deep psychological level as Pluto and Venus connect in the sky.

By the time Venus turns direct on January 29th, many deep seated issues will have been resolved and we will have had an opportunity to reconsider our choices. The Venus-Pluto cycle will not be completely over however, as Venus will conjunct Pluto once again March 3rd bringing up reoccurring themes from December. If you have done the work, you will find this transit does not have a significant affect.

November astrology and a lunar eclipse!

In November we will experience the first of two powerful eclipses between now and the end of the year. Our November New Moon in Scorpio will be very changeable and unpredictable with Uranus in the mix, and it is considered a Supermoon. Supermoons are often associated with extreme weather events and can be very powerful.

The full moon this month falls on November 19th at 27 degrees of Taurus and this is a lunar eclipse. Taurus/Scorpio rule the 2nd/8th house axis of money, taxes, joint finances, other people’s money, possessions and values. This eclipse sets off a series of eclipses in Scorpio and Taurus that will continue into 2024, showing us there will be a greater focus on money, possessions and values over the next few years. The North and South nodes are mathematical points in astrology that show us our collective destiny and in January 2022, they will also shift into Taurus/Scorpio. The eclipses and the Nodes are pointing toward a collective interest or concern over money/finances and what we value the most over the next few years, and we will be forced as individuals and collectively to decide.

The Sun transits through Scorpio and then Sagittarius this month, Mars travels through Scorpio all month, and Venus moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn where it will retrograde in December. Saturn in Aquarius moves forward again after its long 5 month retrograde inching ever closer to its year end clash with Uranus which will bring change if not upheaval on many levels. Now, the details.

November 2nd, Mercury squares Pluto and this is the last pass of this powerful transit that occurred September 22-25th, and then again October 1-2nd due to Mercury’s retrograde. If you were affected by this aspect on the previous two dates you will be again, and reoccurring themes could come up. This is a transit that is indicative of digging to get to the bottom of something, obsessions or heavy thinking, arguments and propaganda, or someone trying to force their will on others. Expect another heavy news day as is so often the case these days.

November New Moon

November 4th, Novembers New Moon falls at 12 degrees of Scorpio and this is considered a supermoon. A supermoon appears closer to the earth and is associated with more extreme high and low tides as well as earthquakes and tidal waves.

This is a highly significant New Moon as it opposes Uranus along with the Sun in Scorpio. Uranus is the planet of freedom, and sometimes freedom is demanded at any cost. This will be a very unpredictable Moon bringing with it all kinds of surprises and unexpected situations, so it is best to remain flexible.

For some, this New moon will coincide with breaking away from things and individuals that are standing in the way. This can be the ending of a planned response such as leaving a job, or it can more likely be an unplanned response that occurs ‘out of the blue.’ If this is the case, it would be the result of tensions that have been building for some time. Uranus transits tend to cut away that which has outlived its purpose.

Profound breakthroughs can occur at this time, or you could experience an ‘ah ha’ moment when the light bulb finally comes on. Moon-Uranus can produce both excitement and anxiety and it is known to produce sudden, unanticipated results and events. Uranus deals with breakthroughs, separations, coups, aircraft, lightening and extreme weather to name just a few.

Mars in Scorpio can be a fearless fighter with great persistence, but Mars has entered its square to Saturn which will create a type of frustration, or even blocked energy so hard work is necessary to accomplishment. The desire to transform or change something may be there, but there will be blocks of to success with Mars, but this does not spell failure. A great deal can be accomplished with this transit and there can be a laser like focus at best.  The Mars-Saturn square will peak on November 10th, so there will be a period of frustration or delays before all obstacles can be overcome.

As Scorpio rules the 8th house of other people’s money, this New Moon may involve money or finances and changeability in this area, and potentially the financial markets.

Venus and its long stay in Capricorn

November 4th, Venus leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn where it will remain until March 6, 2022 due to its retrograde that will last from December 19-January 29, 2022.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of structure, work and responsibility so Venus in this sign has to do with the practical side of love, as opposed to a whirlwind type of romance or romantic feeling. Not that Capricorn can’t be romantic, but this will give us an opportunity to decide if our romantic interest is actually workable. If you are in a relationship, more attention will be focused on the pragmatic issues of partnership.

Venus in Capricorn gives love and social activities a more traditional, perhaps even enduring and committed flavor.

Sometimes there can be a desire for social prestige and attraction to those in positions of authority. We may experience ambition for wealth and status and may be attracted to those we meet in connection with work or in places of commerce.

Love and friendships may take on a more committed or serious tone during this period. Many will be looking for ways to make our lives and loves more real in a tangible sense.  Romance can be overshadowed by responsibility which will generally come first while Venus transits this sign.

Love must be earned while Venus is in this sign. Relationships will be built on a willingness to work together through difficult times, as Saturn understands the true meaning and value of commitment. Venus will reward hard work in relationships by defining obstacles and making the commitment together to solve them.

Venus in a Saturn ruled sign may not sound appealing to some, but it projects its own type of warmth, stability and security. When Venus retrogrades in December we will have another opportunity to analyze our partnerships and decisions to determine if they are truly meeting our needs.

Mercury enters Scorpio

Mercurial energy changes once again as the planet of communication enters Mars-Pluto ruled Scorpio where it will remain until November 24th, so this is a short cycle for Mercury. Mercury rules our communication and while in Scorpio we are typically searching, digging for truth and a little more suspicious in nature. Mercury in this sign will leave no stone unturned if we are looking for an answer. Our thinking and communication will be deep, and Scorpio is known as being relentless; in other words, we don’t give up easily.

Mercury in Scorpio communication is more direct and forceful (Mars) as well as probing, inquisitive and prone to reading between the lines (Pluto).

You can use Scorpio’s perceptive and calculating approach to concentrate and focus on what you want to direct your energy toward as Scorpio is very focused. Mercury in Scorpio is frank to the point of being blunt; at times too blunt. During this period we tend to churn ideas around quite a bit before reaching a final conclusion. As Scorpio is a fixed sign, decisions made at this time are often irreversible. Mercury-Scorpio is passionate in speech and communication but we must be careful about lecturing others. Others will be equally passionate, and quite a few secrets will be exchanged at this time. Our judgment will be at its best when it is not personal. If this happens the emotional side of Scorpio may take over and we could lose objectivity.

November 10th is a stand out day for Mercury as it conjuncts Mars, and both Mercury and Mars square Saturn. Mercury-Mars is prone to irritation, arguments and accidents, but it can also be a great deal of conversation and planning. Mercury and Mars square Saturn can be a frustrating and tiring type of energy that leans toward the serious to negative side. With Saturn in the mix responsibilities will be front and center and we may feel blocked in some way for a few days. If you can overcome this obstacle you can accomplish a great deal. This is a day to be aware of the energy and careful when driving or undertaking any other physical activity as this aspect is accident prone.

November 13th, Another accident prone aspect as Mercury opposes Uranus so use care, especially on the road. This is also indicative of unexpected news, twists and turns. There may be a feeling of excitement or a desire to take a new approach to something. Being flexible this day is key.

November 17th, Mars opposes Uranus. Uranus is the planet of unpredictability and it is likely this day will be changeable in some way. Mars is considered the God of War and its opposition to Uranus can produce conflicts, rash behavior and changeability.  Others may try and argue and it is best this day to use patience and pick your battles very carefully. This will be a heavy news day with the potential for volatility or accidents.

The November Solar eclipse

A solar eclipse occurs in the early morning hours of November 19th, (EDT) and it falls at 27 degrees of Taurus. Taurus rules the 2nd house of money and its planetary ruler is Venus, the planet of money and love. Most people will be focused on money, love and values at this time. Its affects are different for different people depending on where this eclipse falls in your personal natal chart.

Venus is sextile Mars, so sparks can fly in your love and social life.. This is positive for any communication with those you care about or even in business so this creates a positive and upbeat energy. Mars is however, still within orb of its opposition to Uranus from November 17th, so things could change or not go as planned.

This eclipse kicks off a series of eclipses that will last for the next 2 years that aspect the Taurus-Scorpio axis. This points to a collective focus on money, finances, and personal values, and change or transformation on many levels.

November 21, Sun enters Sagittarius

When the Sun enters Sagittarius we are in the mutable part of fall when the weather shifts toward the winter season, and the Sun will remain in this sign until November 22.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion and Sagittarius is typically an upbeat and positive sign for the Sun to transit through. While the Scorpio season can be quite intense, Sagittarius is not really interested in drama, heaviness or intensity. Sagittarius rules the 9th house in astrology or the part of the horoscope that concerns education and philosophy, travel, legal matters/courts and your personal world viewpoint.  Energies will shift dramatically as Sagittarius is the antithesis of Scorpio with its typical happy go lucky attitude, big dreams and desire for new escapades, journeys and trips down the road less traveled.

Sagittarius is the precursor to the holiday season with all of the typical parties, social activity and gatherings. Like Gemini and Virgo, Sagittarius is considered a mutable sign which means it can be very changeable and with Sagittarius things can frequently go in a different direction than you might think. Sagittarius represents the bold, the different and the often untried, and a Sagittarius is often one of the hardest people to ever pin down. Freedom is a theme with this sign and with the Sun in the sign. You may feel strongly that you want to cut the ties with any person or situation that seems to hold you back.

Sagittarius is self assured, sometimes to the point of cockiness, being totally honest and at times putting their foot in their mouths. If you don’t keep things in check you could express these qualities to the point of annoying someone. Sagittarius is typically so self assured they often don’t realize their cockiness can turn some people off. Sagittarius is known for their fiery cheerfulness but their frequently overblown optimism can lead them to inflated ideas and expectations.

Mercury enters Sagittarius

Mercury joins the Sun in Sagittarius November 24th, and will remain in this sign until December 13th. Like the Sun in this sign, Mercury’s change of energy will be somewhat obvious. Our thoughts may turn to travel and our thinking will be broader and greatly expanded. We may also feel more buoyant, upbeat and impulsive.

Mercury is not totally comfortable in this energy, but this does not mean things will take a negative turn. In Sagittarius, Mercury worries about the bigger picture of things but can lose track of smaller but important details.

Mercury in this sign is associated with expansion and the spreading of knowledge that can have a great deal of depth. This is an outgoing time and socializing with others will come easier than normal even for those who are shy. This Mercury is about visions of the future and can shine a light on that that which needs to be brought to light.

The challenge with Mercury in this sign is developing discernment in the quest for truth and not falling prey to every idea that crosses your path or blowing an idea totally out of proportion. Expect to be more open to new ideas, people and life in general. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign and mutable signs are subject to change and fire signs are prone to action.

Mercury in Sag is idealistic, visionary, and dynamic and does not like to be bored. Our minds can get restless easily and we may experience a need for something bigger than normal to occupy the mind.

Sagittarius likes to take the broadest perspective of ideas and concepts. We may go through quite a few mental adventures and twists over the next few weeks.

The downside of Mercury in Sag can lead to speaking without first thinking, exaggerating, or saying things that just are not true. Our minds may wander more than usual and you can expect to have a more open and flexible mind at this time.
