June 2014: a walk between two worlds-redo and reconsider

As we begin the sixth month of the year Mercury is in its shadow period preparing to go stationary retrograde on June 7, at 7:57 A.M., EST. Many people ask me, 'is it ok to buy a car on the 5th, or can I redo my website as long as it's done by the 6th, or etc, ect, etc., you get the idea. Basically the answer is no. Of course we are all free to do as we choose, but start a new project, buy a large or high ticket item, get married, or engaged just before the retrograde and you will somehow pay the price on down the road.

One year I was having my roof replaced and it kept getting postponed. Finally the roofers could come just before the retrograde. Of course, I knew better, but it seemed to be out of my hands as things can sometimes be. They completed the roof days later, and lo and behold...it was not the color I picked! It was supposed to be good for 20 years and as I write this blog I am reminded the tiles are curling as we speak. That was 5 years ago, so if you roll the dice, you take your chances But, sometimes we do what we have to. If you are offered a job and need one don't turn it down!

Mercury is in Cancer as we begin the month and goes stationary retrograde at 3 degrees of Cancer between June 7-9. The stationary retrograde period is where glitches occur, Mercurial energy changes, and we become aware certain things aren't working properly. Cancer is the most emotional of signs and thinking and conversation will become more emotional as opposed to intellectual. On June 17, Mercury retrogrades back into Gemini where it will spend the rest of the month. With Mercury retrograde in this sign be careful when you hit send on your computer as you could embarrass yourself sending the wrong message to the wrong person. Communication may be so fast it is hard to keep up with.

Mercury goes stationary direct, the next most important period July 1-5, and is followed by another shadow period that will actually last until July 16. At this point it is back to 3 degrees of Cancer, where we left off and things can get back to normal.

Mercury retrograde typically lasts for three weeks on average and while things break and get postponed it is the natural cycle of life and serves a purpose. It is the time to reflect, re-do and reconsider so there is no point in getting upset or worried about it.

Often we reconnect with those from our past. Some relationships end and others break up, and Mercury retrograde has a fated quality to it. If a situations ends during this period it is generally supposed to end. It can go either way, but endings are often final.

Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion goes stationary retrograde on June 9, at 3:51 P.M., EST-.November 16. This will bring about more acute sensitivity on an inner level and we may be able to pick up on those things we don't perceive when Neptune is direct. We are more likely to be listening to our own inner voice during this time and creativity and psychic or intuitive abilities may be increased.

If transiting Neptune aspects a planet in your chart during this period we tend to become self deluding, depressed, or overly idealistic. Others may deceive us as well. It is important to be as grounded as possible during these times if you are experiencing a Neptune transit like this, especially a harsh one. Neptune transits can go on for several years and if ever your feet need to be planted on firm soil it is now if you have such a transit.

June's full moon occurs June 13, at 12: 11 A.M., EST at 22 degrees of Sagittarius.

Sagittarius is the natural ruler of the ninth house of travel, education, legal and medical matters and our world views. In some way we will all be concerned with all of some of these matters.

Venus opposes Saturn and this is not a kind transit for relationships, nor is it the most positive time for social activities. If your relationship is tottering on thin ice, this full moon could signal an end. Love will not come easy, but if your relationship is sound it will survive. Feelings could be hurt, plans cancelled and if so, it could be for the best. Endings of many types, not just relationships can occur now and this is not a good day for important meetings.

Mars squares Pluto at 12 degrees of Libra-Capricorn and this is a volatile and angry transit concerned with power struggles, change and transformation, and in some cases joint finances, money or struggling to make something work. This marks the final time this transit  will take place, the previous aspects occurring April 26-27 and January 2-4. If these dates were important to you  best to pay attention to this full moon and treat it with respect. This is going to be a heck of a full moon!

Mars will once again set off the effects of the grand cross over the next few weeks and events that occur will be large and play out in the world. No doubt we will see military action, violence, negative financial situations, endings, and this will affect the chart of the United States, Putin, and may be reminiscent of events that occurred in April, especially with Mercury retrograding. Situations that were not resolved may come back to haunt us now as a collective.

June 18,  Venus sextiles Jupiter bringing a moment of peace before the next Mars transit and this is a far more positive day for love and social activities.

June 21, the Sun enters Cancer and we can welcome summer as it officially begins at 6:51 A.M., EST.

June 23, Venus enters Gemini, changing the love energy once more sending us into a mode of thinking and analyzing our relationships for the next few weeks.

June 25, Mars opposes Uranus for the third time, at 16 degrees of Libra-Aries setting off events in the world and in our lives if it is aspecting your chart. This previously occurred April 15-17, and January 12-13,  so if these dates are important to you there may be unfinished business that occurs now.

Again we will see large events occur in the world and Mars-Uranus is indicative of explosive situations, explosions, and events that seem to come out of the blue. Events that occurred around this transit in April include the abduction of 200 plus schoolgirls in Nigeria, the start of the Ukraine crisis, threats toward America by al-Qaeda, and on April 16, the N. Korean ferry overturned killing 300 children.

The above mentioned several dates involving Mars are of major significance as this month they will make the third and final pass or hit to major outer planets as they did when the grand cross was exact in April and earlier in January when Mars was retrograde. Now, Mars will repeat these transits one more time. Mars will remain in Libra until July 26, when it finally enters Scorpio having spent almost half the year in Libra due to the retrograde! The only other hard aspect Mars will make in this sign will be July 19, when it squares the Sun in Cancer. Mars is still in it shadow direct period until July 21.

June's new moon occurs June 27, at 5 degrees of Cancer at 4:06 A.M, EST. This is the first new moon of the summer, and Cancer is the natural ruler of the fourth house of home and family, and it is here our attention will be focused.

June 29, Venus squares Neptune and this  transit can have a dual affect. On one hand we can think of romance and soft lights and pleasantries, and on the other hand this can be a confusing transit rife with misunderstandings, mixed signals and confused relationships. My advice is to enjoy the day and don't take anything too seriously, especially new relationships and let anything that occurs today withstand the test of time.

Mars turns direct, Jupiter trines Saturn: Seize the moment

Have you noticed over the past few months things and situations not moving along as fast as you had hoped? Some have seen changes in business situations, plans, relationships even personal dreams that have seemed to fizzle out since the first of the year. Retrograde Mars is often no laughing matter, and it turns stationary direct May 19, at 9:31 p.m., EST.

Mars has been retrograde since March 1, and this period always coincides with low energy, frustration and aggravation, delays and the 'fizzling out,' of things that have not been based on a strong enough foundation, or simply not meant to work out for whatever reason.

For others there has been a reconnection of things and people or ideas from the past, and a reconsideration or change in hopes and wishes.

Since Mars is at its detriment in this sign, relationship issues have seemed needier for some, and many relationships have ended. For those who have met a new love interest on around this retrograde Mars period, the test of the relationship will come as Mars turns direct and moves forward. Relationships that begin on a retrograde Mars often change as the planet of action turns direct.

This represents a powerful transit, especially if it is aspecting a personal planet in your own natal chart. Mars in Libra will aspect Aries, Cancer, Capricorn and Libra planets between 7-11 degrees. It can be good or bad depending on what the aspect is and what else in your chart.

On the world stage we could see an escalation of military affairs and situations that have been out of view or not on the news for a while. Many situations in the world will be affected and of course the only thing we can gauge it by is the news.

Either way life is moving forward now.  As Mars turns direct, the stationary direct (and retrograde) periods are the most powerful. The stationary direct period is when we will notice a pickup in energy, situations and start to see many matters for what they are and will be. Mars will be in its stationary period from May 19-July 21 when it reaches 27 degree of Libra. Mars retrogrades approximately every 2 years.

Over the next several weeks Jupiter trines Saturn becoming exact on May 24. This represents the final swing of a positive transit that is good for, growth, new projects, finances, and stabilizing all situations. It is especially positive for finances.

Those who will receive the most benefit from this transit are Water and Earth signs, especially Cancer, Pisces and Virgo with a Sun at 14-18 degrees, or those with personal planets in these signs and at these degrees, so make the most of this if you are being affected!

Published reports say the US government ran a surplus of $112 billion in April 2013, according to the Congressional Budget Office, $52 billion more than a year ago. The surpluses recorded in April 2012 and 2013 were the first seen in that month since 2008. More good news: Revenue for the first seven months of the fiscal year is up 16%, or $220 billion, from the year-ago period.

All of this sounds good, and is. One cog in the wheel though: Just as things take off Mercury turns retrograde on June 7. So just as we get used to forward movement, we will be slowed down again for three weeks to reconsider things once more. Such is the year, 2014. We have had a plethora of retrograde planets all year. But after July 2, we should be able to take off again, so seize the moment, while you can.

Full moon in Scorpio May 14: Intensity, obsessions and drama

This month's full moon occurs at 24 degrees of Scorpio at 3:16 p.m, EST May 14. Scorpio is the natural ruler of the 8th house of joint assets, security, other peoples' money, sex, death and transformation. This full moon sets off the 8th-2nd house axis of money, earned income, joint assets and had to do with the way people feel in relationships. It is the most intense of signs, and it is transformative.

Being the most intense of signs means that feelings can go either way: If its good, it's really good, if it's bad, it's horrible.  Scorpio is also the most secretive of the signs, and being a fixed sign its stubborn and decisions made at this time can be permanent. Passions will be inflamed for many during this period, and secrets can be revealed.

You could experience transformation on a big or smaller level, depending on what else is happening in your personal chart at this time.

Venus squares Pluto on this full moon, increasing the intensity, and for some this will become obsessiveness if not careful. Venus-Pluto relates to issues connected with love and money, sex, drama, bullies, and at its worst is an aspect of emotional or sexual abuse in some form, or bullying.

Venus is opposing Mars at the time of this post (5-12) will square Pluto May 14, and conjuncts Uranus 5-15 creating a kaleidoscope of  relationship feelings and situations. Some situations may end altogether if they are tottering on the edge.

This full moon along with Venus will set off the grand cross, meaning events in the world may be large and if Venus is aspecting something in your chart your personal life could be affected in a large way. for this to occur you would have personal planets at 12-16 degrees of Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn.

I would not be surprised if we do not hear news of the kidnapped Nigerian school girls. Otherwise we will hear news of relationships, scandals and Venus-Uranus can affect the financial markets.

Stubborn, depressed or determined?

Over the next few days the Sun will oppose Saturn, becoming exact Saturday, May 10 at 2:28 p.m. After the transit becomes exact, energy should start to lighten up.

This is a difficult and irritating transit, and a day(s) of low energy. Relationships may not do well, and there is little room for fun and entertainment until it passes. Obligations and responsibility will be the theme of the time. Situations/relationships that have reached their breaking point may well end today and substantial events can occur if you have planets in fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio) between 18-22 degrees or so. Situations and people will be tested in terms of their foundation.

This energy may come across as stubbornness, depression or determination. My advice is to determine what you are determined to accomplish between now and then and go toward that goal. You should succeed!

We will see this transit play out on the world stage as well, and before it is over will have a solid idea as to where the many volatile situations in the world are headed, or there could be reprisals in the hot spots around the globe.

Mother's day occurs in the US on May 11, and Venus opposes Mars putting the male and female planets in opposition to each other. These planets are in mutual reception to each other--Mars in Venus's  rulership sign and Venus is in Mars sign of rulership, giving the ability to see both sides of the coin and reach compromise if that is what you want to do. Otherwise there could be conflict, especially in strained relationships.

We could hear news of sex scandals, relationships, divorce, and there could be news of the kidnapped school girls in Nigeria.

Also on May 11, Mercury squares Neptune and this is another tiring and confusing transit. Clear expression of words and ideas is needed and what is not said at this time will be the source of later conflict. Misunderstandings can be serious, travel can be difficult and communication in general can be a source of trouble.

Daydreams may be a common manifestation as well as unusual dreams. This is a good day for a reading, spiritual or psychic matters may be enhanced along with creativity.

On the world stage all may not be as it appears, confusing situations can occur, we could hear news of ocean related or water related situations, gas, chemical weapons, and lies may be told. We will probably see weather related situations involving water in parts of the country/world that come to our attention.( 5-7-14)
