December 2019: Jupiter enters Capricorn

Happy holidays! It has been quite a year as we have been approaching the pivotal Saturn-Pluto conjunction of January 2020. Many changes have occurred in the world and in our lives and it has been a stressful time for many. During December things will continue at the same rapid pace as we have grown accustomed to, with several big changes.

Jupiter changes signs and we experience the first of two major eclipses December 26. Jupiter is considered the planet of luck and gain and it changes signs ever year. December 2, it leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn where it will remain for the next year.

Jupiter in Sagittarius has been in the sign of it’s rulership making it powerful and optimistic. As it enters Capricorn, Jupiter is considered at its ‘fall,’ which weakens the function of the planet. This does not mean however, things can’t turn out in a positive manner. As Jupiter is the planet of joy, luck and expansion its placement in Saturn’s sign (Capricorn) can be an awkward fit but of course this should bode well for earth signs, especially those born under the sign Capricorn.

Jupiter in Sagittarius has been concerned with ideas, and expansion, Capricorn is the sign where the ideas can be implemented. Some keywords for Capricorn might be mastery or reality over optimism. Jupiter in Saturn’s sign is more sober than optimistic; more interested in the details of how of something is going to be accomplished and therefore it can lead to solid accomplishment based on ‘doing the work.’

Jupiter in this signs is all about building something. Capricorn is a Cardinal sign which means energy can change and be directed toward an important goal. The role of a cardinal sign is to push forward. You will fare well with Jupiter in this sign if you can take a realistic and mature view of things. Jupiter in Capricorn will be about ambition, leadership and a drive for economic growth and power.

Jupiter will trine Uranus in December, and we could experience unexpected opportunities at this time or set something new into motion. This will only occur once and it will be in effect most of the month. It will be exact approximately December 12-17.

Jupiter will remain in Capricorn until December 18, 2020, when it will enter Aquarius. Jupiter’s last transit through Capricorn was December 2007-early 2009.

Approaching the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of 2020

As we begin December we are roughly 5 weeks away from the powerful Saturn-Pluto conjunction. These two power house planets meet up at 22 degrees of Capricorn January 7-14, and a major eclipse occurs on January 12, that will ‘set off’ this aspect.

Saturn conjunct Pluto is not an easy transit. Some things will end to make room for new beginnings. This can include jobs, relationships and any other number of situations depending on where this falls in your personal chart. If something ends remember another door will open.

The Saturn-Pluto conjunction is not easy to understand as Pluto deals with that which is deeply hidden, and Saturn relates to structures, time and limitations. When combined with Pluto, Saturn becomes very demanding and many things must be transformed during this period. Saturn-Pluto will test things in our lives for resilience just as earthquake will tests a building's structure. A building that is structurally sound is much more likely to withstand the earthquake but a house built of cards will be eliminated. We are being put in a position to defend our positions on many matters that can include work, relationships, financial preparedness, and other areas of our lives. On a larger scale, society itself is being tested, and that which is not working will be eliminated altogether or transformed into something different.

This transit will affect us personally and the world stage. Saturn-Pluto aspects typically deal with who the power and therefore it deals with corruption and abuse of power as well as who makes the decisions that affect us all.

Pluto transits have a way of purging things that do not suit the collective good. We are seeing this transit play out at this time in the form of Presidential impeachment hearings in the US. In Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu was recently charged with fraud, bribery and breach of trust. In Turkey there is a pushback against Ergogan and his politics, and the protests continue in Hong Kong against Chinese rule and Pro-democracy forces won the last election. There is still a fight over Brexit in the UK and these are only a few examples of the types of changes we will see. This transit will set the stage for the year 2020 and the changes we experience will change some things forever. All is not negative however as this transit tends to remove things that need to make room for the new, and another way to look at it is the evolution of man and our personal lives. As we move through December we will see a great deal of change and unfortunately we will see a lot of collective stress as well.

December annular eclipse
December’s solar eclipse falls the day after Christmas and the lunar peak occurs just after midnight, EST. Technically it is called an annular eclipse, or sometimes a ring of fire eclipse. This happens when the new moon moves directly in front of the sun and is too small to totally cover over the sun’s disk. It will be visible from Saudi Arabia, southern India, and parts of Indonesia, and, those in Europe, parts of Asia, and North/West Australia will see a partial eclipse.

This eclipse falls at 4 degrees of Capricorn. Capricorn rules the 10th house of business, priorities and banking and is concerned with personal if not financial security. This is a generally fortuitous and positive eclipse as it conjuncts Jupiter and makes a trine to Uranus. The theme will be prosperity and new beginnings with the trine to Uranus. Now is a positive time for travel, dealing with foreigners and expanding your sphere of influence.

Other significant transits in December:

December 3, Venus sextiles Mars bringing the male and female planets into harmony. A good day for socializing.

December 8, The Sun squares Neptune. This can be a day where confusion reigns. Check over important documents and make sure all things of importance are clear.

December 9, Mercury enters Sagittarius. Communication will increase and our thinking may be a little more upbeat with this transit. As Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter we can hear some tall tales and some things may be blown out of proportion.

December 11-12, the full moon falls at 19 degrees of Gemini. Gemini rules the 3rd house of communication, immediate family and co-workers. This moon can manifest itself as a desire for change or doing things on the spur of the moment as Gemini can’t stand to be bored.

The primary influence at this time is the triple conjunction of Saturn, Pluto and Venus. This can mean challenges in terms of love or money, and if there is an issue it will likely reach a peak at this time. You may well ask yourself if your relationship continues to serve a purpose.  Mars trine Neptune can lend itself to creativity and compassion.

This is the final full moon of the year. It’s time to wrap up the last 6 months and prepare for new beginnings in the New Year.

December 19, Mercury squares Neptune as the Sun did earlier. Confusion may abound, new information can be revealed, but check your facts about anything important. Use caution while driving as this can be a tiring day where many people don’t pay attention to the road.  We could see water related weather conditions.

December 20, Venus enters Aquarius. Venus in this sign is far less serious than it was in Capricorn. People may be more open to fun, new experiences and demand more personal freedom.

December 21, the Sun enters Capricorn and this begins the first official day of winter. The Sun in Capricorn is more serious and we will be motivated by ambition, achievement and more traditional values. We are in the Capricorn season.

December 22, Venus squares Uranus. This can be a day of excitement and fun, or it can be a day fraught with unexpected events and change especially involving relationships and money. This is a day to remain flexible. The possibilities however are positive.

December 28, Mercury changes signs once again and enters Capricorn placing 5 planets in the same sign. Conversation and thinking becomes more serious and we will be focused on matters of ambition and personal security.

Here’s wishing you and yours the best of holidays however you celebrate and a happy and prosperous New Year!

Mercury direct/Mars in Scorpio: Fireworks

Mercury turns direct  November 20, at 2:12 PM, EST. It's been a rough retrograde for many as Mercury in this sign rules the 8th house of sex, secrets, lawsuits and money. It's direct motion can only be a positive thing, but remember sometimes things change direction again as Mercury stations direct. Mercury won't actually move a degree forward until November 23, so things can still be confusing and changeable. The shadow period of retrograde Mercury will last until December 8.

Mars changes signs and moves into Scorpio about 36 hours or so before Mercury's direct motion, November 19. As Mars moves into Scorpio energies shifts to become more intense, and secretive. We can expect many things to take off at this time, one way or another, and the positive thing to do would be to focus your energy on something worthwhile you would like to accomplish instead of being tossed around like a leaf in the wind. As these 2 planets shift at the same time basically, this seems significant.

As Mars enters Scorpio it moves into its direct opposition to Uranus in Taurus. Mars opposing Uranus is changeable, volatile and unpredictable.  Be careful of accidents.  You will be personally affected if you were born October 24-28, (Scorpio) July 26-29 (Leo), or January 23-27 (Aquarius). That said, this energy affects us all, one way or another.

Expect things to be changeable this week. The peak of the Mars energy is November 24,  but the it is already in orb at the time of this post and it will continue a few days after its peak. November 24, we have some planetary help in the form of Venus conjunct Jupiter which is a positive transit good for socializing and this will lighten things up.

Mars-Uranus will play out in the world in terms of unexpected events and changes on the world stage. This could involve (to name a few) money and financial markets, police or military matters, explosions, aircraft crashes and unexpected twists in politics and the many hot spots around the world at this time.

Venus squares Neptune: If it walks like a duck...

Venus is square Neptune and this transit is exact November 14. You could be wearing rose colored glasses on this day, and not looking at things as they really are, or at worst you could be lied to or confused.. Venus rules women, money and values and Neptune is known as the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion. It also rules drugs and alcohol, theater and art, religion,  and the seamy side of life and salt water, or water related weather conditions.

Watch your belongings, as this can be a transit of theft on many levels.
Some may experience this as melancholy, depression or feelings of discouragement.

Don't take things at face value and dig beneath the surface if you want true and correct answers. Use caution with money on this day.
The other side of this energy relates to healing, sacrifice and could be a true selfLESS love, or act of kindness. Selfless love though, is rare.

Dreams may be vivid and creativity at a high.

If this aspects mutable planets (Gemini, Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius( at 15-16 degrees in your personal chart, it will have a bigger affect, depending on what is aspected in your chart.

We have some planetary help in the form of Saturn's sextile to Neptune which is balanced dreams and enthusiasm.

It's interesting this transit falls the day after the start of public impeachment hearings. Look for propaganda to twist the facts. On Monday we learned thousands of Twitter bots were spreading fake news about the Kentucky election. We typically see more revelations with Neptune transits.

Taurus full moon: Practical magic!

This month's full moon on November 12, falls at 19 degrees of Taurus, the sign ruled by Venus the planet of love, money, beauty and values. Taurus rules the 2nd house of money and income and opposes the 8th house of money, taxes, debt, sex and secrets and it is here our energies will be focused. This moon will be more intense if you are born under Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius in the mid to late degrees.

This moon activates the Saturn-Neptune sextile that dominates the sky this month. Saturn rules structure, responsibilities, boundaries and work, while Neptune rules the ethereal world, dreams, creativity and the imagination. This combination doesn't occur often and these two powerful planets in a harmonious angle can create practical magic along with the Moon in Taurus. Now is the time to focus on turning dreams and ideas into practical form and bring them to life, especially as this transit will not occur again until 2036.

Mars is in sextile to Jupiter which gives energy, positivity, inventiveness and a degree of luck which will help bring things to a successful conclusion at this time.

The Sun and Mercury's conjunction and opposition to the Moon brings family members and one on one close relationships into focus at this time and tensions can rise and emotions can be amped up at this time leading to stress, agitation and conflict. Taurus however, is ruled by the sign Venus and is known for being calm and grounded. focus your energies  on this as opposed to letting things get out of control.

As this moon is in Taurus we can see an increase in severe or unexpected weather conditions, and Taurus is associated with earthquakes, although this is not something I would expect. With the Moon's opposition to Mercury be careful of accidents and issues with travel.

November: Last Dance for Jupiter in Sagittarius

                    Image result for fall pics

This is the last month Jupiter will be in Sagittarius until it returns again in 12 years, or October of 2030. Jupiter is the planet of gain, luck and expansion.  In November, it transits from 23-29 degrees bringing luck and positive energy to all of the late degree Fire signs, or anyone with Fire or Air signs at these degrees. Jupiter in Sagittarius has been at home in its own sign, which means it functions well here, and it has been buoyant and optimistic. When Jupiter enters Capricorn in December, this will bring dramatic change as Jupiter is considered at its fall in Capricorn, which is Saturn's sign.  Here, it loses some of its strength, and will be more about practicality than optimism.

As we begin November we are roughly 9 weeks away from the Great Alignment in Capricorn that I and many others have been writing about for years. The energy is harsh, stagnant or even restrictive in some cases. Many events will occur at this time. The combination of Saturn and Pluto is indicative of power struggles, control, crime, abuse of power, subversive activities and it can be violent. We have been dealing with this energy all year, but when these planets conjoin we will see many more events play out in the United States, the world and our personal lives.

We will feel energy in November and December and these will be pivotal months as we approach this aspect that has not occurred in Capricorn since 1517. Saturn and Pluto form a conjunction (both planets are together in the same sign) about every 33-38 years, but it's been 502 years exactly since this pair joined up in the sign of Capricorn.

In fall of 1517 a monk named Martin Luther penned what was known as The 95 Theses,” a list of questions and propositions for debate. Popular legend has it that on October 31, 1517 Luther defiantly nailed a copy of his 95 Theses to the door of the Wittenberg Castle church for the Pope. Abuse of power in the Church and Clergy is what led to Luther's decision, along disagreements over Church doctrine. This began what was known as the Reformation and the Presbyterian and Lutheran religions were founded. In the Middle Ages the Church was the great political power in Europe. The Reformation would destroy much of the Church's power but it came at a great cost with decades of wars, rebellions and bloody persecutions.

The Saturn-Pluto conjunction is about power and control just as it was in 1517. It will involve the US Presidency, and many other individuals and countries are directly aspected around the world. Saturn will remain in Capricorn throughout 2020 with a short break as it enters Aquarius March-July. At this point we will start to see the beginning of what will be a new order unfolding. But, Saturn retrogrades back into Capricorn late July and remains there until the end of 2020.

Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio through November 20, adding more frustration to this period. Scorpio is ruled by both Mars and Pluto so this is a time secrets may be revealed, and thinking, speech and communication can seem extra heavy. Scorpio rules the 8th house of other people's money, corporate money, taxes and debt so changes may be made in these areas. It is best not to initiate anything new on a retrograde Mercury. Instead it is about re-doing and re-considering what you have already done, and at times we can re-connect with the past or things and people from the past. After Mercury turns direct it will remain in Scorpio until December 9, when it enters Sagittarius.

On November 8, Saturn sextiles Neptune for the final time and it is exact. Saturn rules structure and Neptune rules creativity and the ethereal realms. We will feel this energy the majority of the month. This is a positive time for combining your dreams with reality and it is possible at this time to launch something that you have been hoping for. This is also a time to see and analyze your life in a realistic manner, not overly optimistic, and not in a negative approach either. Things can be balanced and just right. We should have the vision and ability to see through things that are not truth. This transit could not come at a better time!

Other significant transits in November

November 1, Venus enters Sagittarius. This works well for all Fire signs. Love energy will become more adventurous and playful, and Sagittarius is the most optimistic of signs and before the month is over it will meet up with Jupiter which should bring some positive energy, especially for late degree Fire signs.

November 5, Mars squares Pluto. This is a harsh transit and at times the energy may seem cruel. This could manifest as a power struggle or disagreement. If compromise is too difficult walk away and shoot for a day the energies are not so volatile. It will be a heavy news day and there will be volatility in the host spots around the globe.

November 11, the Sun conjuncts Mercury at 18 degrees of Scorpio. This can be ego centered and willful energy and it is important to watch your driving as this can be prone to accidents. As Mercury is retrograde we may hear new revelations in the world and our personal lives.

November 12, the full moon falls at 19 degrees of Taurus. Taurus rules the 2nd house of money and its planet is Venus. This could bring news concerning money or income, and it is here many of us will be focused. Venus is also the planet of love and it rules our values as individuals as well as collective values. This moon trines Saturn and Pluto giving it some stability, but it opposes Mercury (retrograde). This could bring out previously unknown information and become somewhat argumentative. Watch your driving with Mercury as this planet rules vehicles, travel and young people. As Mars sextiles Jupiter this will add some positivity and expansiveness to this full moon.

November 14, Venus squares Neptune and this can create confusion in love and money. Be careful of things that seem too good to be true.

November 19, Mars leaves Libra for Scorpio where it will remain the rest of the year. Scorpio is the most intense of signs and it can at times border on obsessiveness. A lot can be accomplished with the planet of action in this sign if you can keep from becoming too obsessive or stuck on certain things or ideas. Scorpio rules the 8th house of sex, taxes and debt and we may hear news along these lines.

November 20, Mercury goes stationary direct at 11 degrees of Scorpio!

November 22, the Sun enters Sagittarius. Sagittarius is optimistic and positive and this is often the brightest time of the year for some. We are also entering the Sagittarius season!

November 24, Venus conjuncts Jupiter for one last blast of positivity and fun before both planets move on to Capricorn. Make the most of this day. As Mars also opposes Uranus there is an unpredictable element to this day, and many things can change.  It is highly likely we can see explosive news involving politics and explosive circumstances, if not explosions. Electronic communication could be affected.

November 25, Venus leaves Sagittarius for the more conservative sign of Capricorn.  Capricorn is all about solidity, and basics and less about fun. This is not bad, and in some cases necessary.

November 26, the New Moon falls at 4 degrees of Sagittarius. Now is the time for new starts and thinking outside the box. As Mars is still opposing Uranus there is an unpredictability in the air. Some things may change or end at this time.

November 27, Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion turns stationary direct. Things can change direction in some way if this is aspecting something in your personal chart. Neptunian events have a tendency to appear as surprising, but in actuality the basis of Neptune related events was generally there all along, just hidden in a fog of confusion, lies or lack of clarity.  Such events tend to creep up on you and seem surprising at first, but the basis of the event was generally there, just obscured from recognition.
Surprises/events may occur for some individuals with Neptune in hard aspect in their natal charts.  If Neptune is good aspect to your personal planets events can transpire as pleasant if not subtle experiences. Others may barely notice if Neptune is not aspecting their charts.  Like everything else, it all depends on your personal chart, and what it holds.
Spiritual and creative issues are internalizes when Neptune is retrograde. Now that it is direct it will be easier to present artistic and creative ventures to the outside world. We will find it easier to understand our selves and subconscious motivations. As Neptune turns direct, what we have learned on deep psychic levels over the past several months can be put to use in the outer world. In some cases our thinking can become more clear.
