Jupiter enters Gemini May 26th

Jupiter is the planet of gain and expansion and wherever it transits in your chart is where you will see the greatest gain and luck. Jupiter enters Gemini May 26, 2024-June 9th, 2025.

Jupiter is called ‘the greater benefic.’ Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication, commerce and young people. Our luck during this transit will come in the form of ideas, communication, travel, education and it will be a great time for publishing, speaking, writing, singing and the like. It will necessitate a broad minded approach and you may want to leave your comfort zone behind when it comes to new ideas.  The last time Jupiter was in this sign was June 11, 2012-June 26, 2013.

Jupiter in Gemini is considered to be debilitated which simply means it is not as comfortable in this sign as others or as powerful while in Gemini. Nevertheless, we can expect gain and expansion wherever it falls in our natal chart.

Jupiter in Gemini is chatty, expansive, optimistic, broad minded, and prone toward big ideas, plans and education. On the downside you could experience a flow of information and we will need to be discerning in terms of ideas we accept or act on because there is so much information.

 Where and how Jupiter helps you depends not only on where it falls in your chart but the aspects it makes to other planets. Let’s take a look at what Jupiter will do this year;

May 25, Jupiter enters Gemini

May 31-June 2nd Jupiter sextiles Pluto

August 17-22, Jupiter squares Saturn

October 9th, Jupiter turns retrograde until February 4th, 2025

December 24-25th, Jupiter squares Saturn again

Jupiter sextiles Pluto

-Jupiter’s sextile to Pluto is brief but positive. This is a good time to present ideas, work with groups, kick off new projects or enter into financial agreements.

Jupiter squares Saturn

-Jupiter’s square to Saturn is not as positive. Jupiter square Saturn can often relate to business deals or opportunities, but it is also a time of financial reckoning, or looking at financial matters from a more conservative viewpoint. Jupiter squared Saturn in 2015, and I wrote this at the time:

“This transit might be compared to trying to paddle a canoe upstream or trying to drive with the brakes on. While Jupiter is the planet of expansion, Saturn represents restriction and delays, and this is a collision of these two principals.

Money issues may come to the surface, or depending on what is in your chart you may feel the restriction coming from some other area of life, depending on what it is aspecting in your personal chart. For some, relationships may end at this time, but usually only if they are not working out already.

Many things may slow down during this time, or you may lack inner conviction, or your timing can be off.  It is important to consider these factors. You could be dealing with situations and people from the past.

This transit can represent legal, financial and business problems, and there could be a lack of support, especially if this aspects your natal chart. There could be issues with higher education, moral issues, or indifference. Frustration may build up to the point where something has to give and change occurs at this point especially if it aspects something in your chart.

There could be added responsibilities and pressures in your job during this period, or you could make some kind of change in your job or work, as this is not all negative. If you are working on a financial deal of some type it may come together at this time, or you will receive evidence that it won’t pan out-one way or the other.

Saturn and Jupiter squared each other August (2015) and we saw the devaluation of the Chinese currency, the normalization of US relations with cuba and the economic turmoil in Greece.

As Saturn is in Sagittarius this shows conflict ideas, concepts and religion, and Jupiter in Virgo shows issues around work and practical matters either directly or indirectly. For example, many political ideas are floating around at this time, but which ones are realistic, responsible and real?
There has been a major outbreak of the food containment listeria, and we could see more of this on a larger basis, or some other disease could surface. (from 2015)

Jupiter-Saturn is one of the ten Major planetary cycles. (from 2015 continued)

This cycle goes from conjunction to conjunction, and the last cycle began in May of 2000, in Taurus, the natural ruler of the second house of earned income, possessions and money.  Since that time we have seen massive changes in the financial world. In June of 2006, it was in a square to Saturn at 9 degrees, Scorpio/Leo and at this time many analysts were pointing to a bubble in the housing market that would become the crash of 2008. Another square occurred in October of that year at 23 degrees. In 2011, (March) Jupiter opposed Saturn at 14 Libra-Aries, and it was at this point that Greece was feeling the debt crisis and the International Monetary Fund was  signing off billions of Euros to Ireland Portugal and  Italy. Greece agreed to extreme austerity measures once again on the eve of the Jupiter-Saturn square of 2015, driven by Germany, and this situation will be played out between now and when the next conjunction occurs in 2020, when we will begin this cycle again in Capricorn.”

Jupiter was conjunct Saturn in 2020 in Capricorn and then in Aquarius starting a new cycle. Its square to Saturn in 2024 will be part of this new cycle. A square tests things and shows us what needs to be worked on.

Saturn forces us to look at reality and our limitations while Jupiter is about expansion. When the two clash it can bring to reality the fact we have to re-look at something in some way.

Of course transits like this always play out in the world in a significant way and in this case we can expect more significant clashes between the 2 political parties in the US, and this aspect could affect money and the financial markets as well.

 Jupiter retrogrades

-When Jupiter retrogrades its energy often turns inward and we have to back up and re-consider some of our plans. This is often a time of planning and reorganizing in some way. Jupiter’s retrograde can be compared to a racehorse; there is a time to run and compete and there is a time to train for the upcoming race. The retrograde would be the latter. Jupiter’s benefic rays are not as powerful when the planet of gain is retrograde. While you should not anticipate it, there are times the retrograde can work in reverse.

Jupiter in Gemini will affect the signs in the following ways. If you know your ascendant use that.

-Aries-immediate family, short trips, learning, communication

-Taurus-money, earned income

-Gemini-When Jupiter is in your sign you can gain personally in many different ways. This occurs only every 12 years.

-Cancer-Jupiter in the 12th can be a subtle type of spiritual healing. You may spend more time alone and help comes at the last minute.

-Leo-Jupiter in the 11th house means you do well with friends, groups and have a higher chance of attaining your hopes and wishes.

-Virgo-This year should be great for your career as Jupiter transits your career house.

-Libra-Jupiter in the 9th house can expand your education, travel and world view. Great for publishing.

-Scorpio-Jupiter in the 8th house increases your potential financially as it rules ‘other people’s money,’ partner’s money or corporate money.

-Sagittarius-Jupiter transits your 7th house of partners and committed relationships.

-Capricorn-Jupiter transits through your house of work and health

-Aquarius-Jupiter transits through your 5th house of children, friends, and love

-Pisces-Jupiter transits through your 1st house of home. Your family could expand or you could move, redecorate or enjoy your home.
