September 2024; Pluto’s last dance in Capricorn!

During September Pluto re-enters Capricorn for the last time,  and we experience the first of two eclipses; this one a lunar eclipse in Pisces.

Mercury travels through Leo, Virgo and Libra. Venus transits through Libra and enters Scorpio, and Mars leaves Gemini for Cancer where it will spend a very long time. The Sun leaves Virgo for Scorpio, marking the start of Fall, and Saturn retrogrades back to the halfway mark in Pisces. This month’s New moon will fall in Virgo.

As I mentioned in my last newsletter I will be writing about world events for the next few months with so much going on. If you don’t want to read this just skip the first part and go to the transits.

Uranus is a powerful planet in the charts of Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. It is currently at 27 degrees of Taurus and retrograde.  It squares natal Mars in Trumps chart, opposes the Sun in Joe Biden’s chart and squares Saturn (and conjuncts Jupiter) in Harris’s chart. In a nutshell this is a stressful period for all concerned and these are unpredictable times when many unanticipated things can happen at any time with any of them. Change is a certainty, and nothing else is set in stone with this much Uranus in the picture.

Donald Trump

As I predicted earlier, Trump’s lead over Kamala Harris would begin to reverse in August and this is exactly what has happened.

Look for September 6-7th to be significant to Trump as Mercury squares Uranus for the third and final time setting off the unpredictable Mars-Uranus square in his chart. This aspect was present when an assassin attempted to shoot him in July.

The lunar eclipse in Pisces on the 18th, will trine his Saturn-Venus conjunction which may bring some form of benefit but it squares his Moon which rules women, and is not productive of success, especially since Mars will conjunct his Mercury over these few days and Venus squares his Saturn as well. Mars-Mercury can be related to some kind of news, agitation and speech. Over the weekend of September 14th or before, Mars in Cancer will square Neptune, a transit indicative of confusion, money issues and lies and misinformation.

By September 27th, Uranus retrogrades back to 26 degrees and the retrograde of any planet typically brings out the worse when it is in harsh aspect. Uranus square Mars is typical of upsets, change and unexpected events that do not go as planned, and it will be in an exact square with Trump’s Mars.

Jupiter will reach its final degree before its October retrograde of 21 Gemini. While Jupiter conjunct his Sun may bring some benefit, it opposes his Moon which rules women and it is likely that since Jupiter expands whatever it touches the number of female voters who will oppose him will increase.

Pluto returns to Capricorn and is within orb of his Venus once again (4 degree orb). This aspect is indicative of issues with younger female voters and money. He has been experiencing this transit for several years now.

The transiting North Node opposes Trump’s Neptune through the election. The nodes represent fate and the definition of this aspect relates to allowing energy to spin out of control and in haphazard directions, along with a need to curtail aggressive energy/behavior.

Kamala Harris

Harris has brought about a great deal of excitement among Democratic voters mainly due to her positive Jupiter-Uranus conjunction that will be exact again in November. This month, Uranus is still within orb, but it is also square her Saturn which is a stressful transit. Mercury will set off this transit on September 7th-8th, just like it did on July 22-23 when she announced her candidacy.

Saturn trines her Neptune the first week of September which represents a grounded view of things and her natal Neptune falls in her 6th house of service/work. Over the next several weeks Saturn opposes her Pluto, another stressful aspect, that can be a culmination of efforts that can represent a peak of success or a time it becomes clear the efforts did not succeed. Jupiter however, sextiles her Mars which is a transit of success and expansion so it is likely to be a time of success.

The powerful lunar eclipse will be significant on September 18th, as it falls in her house of career and sextile her Jupiter, indicative of success and positivity.

In Harris’s chart the North Node falls just past the 11th house ruling the collective, and coincides with others who are friendly to your interests.

The September 10th debate

Since there is no guarantee anything will go as planned, including the first Harris-Trump debate, this analysis is based on the assumption that it will occur on this day.

The Moon is in Sagittarius which represents both the most optimistic of signs as well as the most braggadocious. In Trump’s chart the Moon opposes his Uranus which means  things can be unpredictable either in terms of himself or it can represent an unpredictable woman or both. It does sextile his Jupiter which is some help but doesn’t negate the rest.

The Sun squares Uranus in his chart the day before and is still within orb which relates to changes and unpredictable events. Mercury is in detailed oriented Virgo and makes no aspects in his chart while Mars at 4 degrees of Cancer squares his Neptune. This is associated with lies, confusion, exhaustion and misstatements.

The Sun is opposing Saturn falling within 1 degree of Trump’s Uranus along with Saturn, creating somewhat of an unpredictable outcome leaning toward negative with Mars square to Neptune. Uranus is in his 10th house of career. On the night of President Biden’s fateful debate with Trump, Mars opposed his Mars which is why he had such a bad night. You might say that Mars (and Mercury) matter.

In Harris’ chart the Moon squares her Venus which is typically not a negative aspect, but rather relaxed. It can however denote bickering. Both Mercury and Mars sextile her Mercury the planet of communication which should go well, and she will speak clearly and with impact. Jupiter sextiles her Mars in her 3rd house of communication. Based on these aspects I predict Harris will come out ahead in the debate if it occurs.

The lunar eclipse in Pisces September 18th

The lunar eclipse at 25 degrees of Pisces on September 18th. The rulers of Pisces are Jupiter and Neptune and Pisces rules the12th house of the zodiac which coincides with endings, secrecy, things that are secret and hidden, places of seclusion and prisons.

Neptune is the planet related to dreams and visions, creativity, religion, philosophy, drugs and addictions and lies or misinformation to name a few. Neptune transits can be times that you can soar to the sublime or sink to the lowest depths; it is truly a double edge sword.

When eclipse season approaches things generally tend to escalate on many different levels both on the world stage in our own personal lives. Depending on the eclipse, good things can happen, or it could seem negative and something could end. It all depends on the aspects the eclipse makes, and most of all what it does in your personal chart. Events connected to the eclipse begin before we get there and depending on the strength of the eclipse, events can occur later as well.

Eclipses are like wildcards and some of life’s biggest moments can occur during these times. An eclipse can seem positive or negative, depending on what it is doing in your own personal chart. This eclipse is a solar eclipse, and its companion solar eclipse falls on October 2nd.

Eclipses always occur in pairs that are opposite each other.

Almost always unexpected information comes to light during an eclipse something may be eclipsed completely out of your life, or into your life.

In the US chart this moon opposes Neptune in the 9th house and squares Mars. The 9th house rules courts, laws and foreigners/foreign countries. Mars is in the 7th house of open enemies. This looks like information that could concern laws and courts along with those considered enemies of the Republic. It also looks like misinformation that could come from abroad from US enemies. We could also see water related weather situations that could turn extreme.

Pisces is the most intuitive of signs and is associated with dreams, so don’t be surprised if you don’t feel more intuitive or have some vivid dreams around this time.

This sign rules the 12th house which represents endings, so some things may end at this time, in preparation of new beginnings.

This eclipse will sextile Uranus which is a positive aspect and prone toward unexpected things happening-for the good! We may decide to look at things differently or find new solutions to old problems. Freedom will be a theme, but it may also seem easier to come by at this time.

The moon also conjuncts Neptune in Pisces. On the upside this is creative and intuitive or even prone toward compassion. On the downside this can create confusion and lethargy. Your perception of things may be skewed, or someone may misrepresent something. Pay attention to details over the next few days and postpone important meetings or decisions for a few days if possible. If not, make sure you understand what is really happening.

 Other transits of interest:

September 1st Uranus turns retrograde until January 30, 2025. The retrograde begins at 27 degrees of Taurus and it will turn direct at 23 degrees. This means all 4 outer planets are retrograde; Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto.

Uranus is an erratic and unpredictable planet that is associated with sudden and unexpected events as well as cutting edge innovations.  If you are experiencing a Uranus transit personally, Uranus’s stationary retrograde can be a significant period and we will seek innovation and changes within ourselves and our own inner thinking and way of approaching things. We may look to new directions new ways of thinking, or in some cases a totally different path depending on whether or not you feel things in your life are working as they should be. These changes will generally take place on an inner level and focused on the outside world when Uranus reverses course and turns direct again.

On the world stage, Uranus rules aircraft, inventions, coups, explosions and explosive change. We can expect to see many things happening in the world over these few days as Uranus changes course.

Pluto enters Capricorn September 1st-November 19th: Last Dance

Pluto re-enters Capricorn one more time before leaving for Aquarius again in November. When Pluto changes signs, the world changes along with our personal lives. Pluto in Capricorn has brought us the 2008 crash referred to as ‘the Great recession,’ Covid, mega companies that exert a great deal of control, various power imbalances, patriarchy, fewer women’s rights, the rise of autocratic groups around the world, hate groups and much more. This is not to say everything in Capricorn has been negative because many people have experienced positive times especially if their chart aligns will with Capricorn. There is always the good and the bad, but many people have been deeply challenged in various ways especially those born under Cancer, Capricorn, Libra and Aries and the US is a Cancer country.  Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the taskmaster.

When Pluto opposed the US Sun at 13 degrees it brought us Donald Trump, who was subsequently twice impeached. The Trump years have brought about more division and hatred in the US than any President in the lifetime of anyone reading this expect perhaps Herbert Hoover and you would have to be approaching 100 years old if you lived through this period. Pluto rules, among other things corruption, dictators, tyrants, villains and power.

The last time Pluto transited Capricorn was 1762-1778 and we know that period of time was difficult and eventually changed the course of history with the American Revolution.

For the last number of years we have been experiencing the US Pluto return at 27 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto returns can only happen in the chart of a country or a long time entity because it takes Pluto 248 years to orbit the zodiac. It won’t return to this sign until 2272. Pluto in the US chart is about money, power, control and it can represent many different things, but it lies in the US 2nd house of money/income.

We have experienced the greater part of our Pluto return over the past few years and the results will continue to play out for better or worse. It’s interesting the last pass of the Pluto return coincides with the US election. As a result, (partially attributed to Pluto but not entirely) I believe we can expect challenges to the election or elections across the country and the potential for fraud that will likely lie among certain states.  Unfortunately there is also a propensity toward violence on and around Election Day with Mars opposition to Pluto.

In the end, regardless of what this pass of Pluto brings us we are headed toward Aquarius. While Aquarius can be unpredictable at the end of the day we will see huge changes worldwide because Aquarius is about the people, not large corporations, billionaires, corrupt dictators or the Top 1%. It is going to be an interesting transformation and we are all invited to the party this time.

Following are the most significant dates involving the final pass of Pluto in Capricorn;

September 22/23-Venus squares Pluto-This can involve issues with money, scandals and trouble between the sexes and it can be obsessive.

October 13th/14th-Mercury squares Pluto-This is indicative of heavy news, obsessions and others trying to push their viewpoints.

October 17th-Full Moon squares Pluto-This aspect becomes more complex as all aspects at this time must be considered. In the end however, the moon rules women and our emotions and its square to Pluto can be extremely dramatic and reveal information that was previously hidden. It looks pretty wild at this time.

October 21st- Sun square Pluto-Power struggles, forced changes and total change in some way in some cases.

November 1-7th-Mars opposes Pluto-This is the worst of the transits and prone to upheaval and violence. Pluto rules sex and money as well as power struggles, bullies and corruption to name a few. Caution is needed especially if this aspects your personal chart.

September 3rd New Moon in Virgo

This moon falls at 11 degrees of the sign that rules the 6th house of health and work or Virgo. Often on a New Moon like this we begin some new diet or health regime or in some cases visit a Dr. Of course this moon does not mean you will develop a health issue. The 6th house also rules work, and service to others. Other than it’s conjunction to the Sun this moon forms no aspects.

Mars is square Neptune however and this aspect is tiring, discouraging and indicative of misinformation, confusion, lies and deception as well as addictive disorders if they are already present. This is a poor time to make any important decision or initiate dealings with people you don’t know. It is also indicative of water issues and weather related problems concerning water.

September 4th, Mars enters Cancer

Mars enters the sign ruled by the moon on this day and we will be dealing with this aspect until April 18th, due to Mars retrograde on December 6th. Mars will leave Cancer for Leo on November 4th and remain in Leo until January 6th when it retrogrades back into Cancer where it turns direct on February 26th.

Mars in Cancer brings 4th house issues to the fore that deal with home and family, and basic foundation/security issues. While this may work well for Water signs, and perhaps Earth, it may be hard to handle for Air signs and especially Fire signs. This will be the start of a new 2 year cycle for those born under the sign of Cancer.

Cancer is the most emotional sign of the zodiac and as Mars changes signs you may notice people becoming much more emotional, crabby or melancholy.

With the focus on the home you may do work to improve the home, have family reunions, look for real-estate, take cooking classes, do family genealogy, or other family related activities and these are all good uses of this energy.

Mars is not at home in Cancer and energy does not flow well. It is considered to be at its fall, meaning it loses strength and influence in this placement.

Cancer rules the home and family and the homeland. We will likely see issues arise of national concern and the homeland. Patriotism or perceived patriotism in all of its forms may be more prevalent at this time.

September 6th, Mercury squares Uranus for the 3rd and final time. This aspect is prone toward unexpected news personally and in the collective. This is an aspect to use care while driving as many won’t be paying attention and the nature of this aspect is scattered thoughts.

September 7/8th the Sun opposes Saturn-This aspect is tired, draining and discouraging. Some people like to denigrate others on a transit like this, and things can be delayed. Not to worry, this energy will quickly pass.

Mercury enters Virgo September 8th-26th

Mercury is considered by astrologers to be ‘at home,’ in this sign so this will be a major energetic switch from Mercury in Leo. Of course Mercury began its transit through Virgo on July 26th-August 16th before retrograding back into Leo, so some of the things we began at that will be picked back up.

Mercury is the planetary ruler of both Gemini and Virgo. While Mercury in Gemini is associated with quick responses, intelligence, and communication about a many different ideas, when Mercury is in Virgo communication and thinking is geared more toward facilitating ideas, analyzing information and presenting facts in a straight forward and factual manner.

Gemini may reach out for information of all types and go in different directions but Virgo hones in on what is most important and puts that information to practical use. While both signs rule Mercury, they each have a very different approach and purpose.

Virgo is very discerning and is often considered lazar focused. The downside to Mercury in Virgo is that at times it can be so discerning one can become lost in details, overly critical or picky, and this can be misinterpreted (or not). It is important to remember that while constructive criticism is one thing, Virgo can get caught up in being so overly critical, others are turned off. Most of the time however, Virgo’s true intent is just to get things right.

. Use this time to work on projects that require organization, study, timing and important communication and you should do well. Details should end up being flawless.

September 11th, Mercury sextiles Mars-a good day for communication and getting many things done.

September 14th, Venus trines Jupiter-This is one of the most positive aspects we can experience, especially for love, money and socializing.

September 18th Mercury opposes Saturn-This is prone to tiredness, criticism and slightly negative. Others may be overly critical, or you could experience this as well. This can be a great day for analyzing something and you could change your thoughts on many things.

September 20th-The Sun opposes Neptune bringing even more Neptunian energy after the Pisces eclipse. Things may seem foggy and this is a bad day for important decisions. All may not be as it seems.

The Sun enters Libra September 22

The Sun’s entrance into Libra for the next month marks the start of fall and the Fall Equinox.  This is the day means night and day are of equal length.

Venus squares Pluto-This aspect is prone toward issues with relationships or money. Obsessions, suspicion, jealousy and issues connected to sex can come to light and if this hits your chart something may be revealed.

Venus enters Scorpio September 22-October 17th

We are leaving behind Venus in Libra which is 'lighter,' and more harmonious, and Libra generally seeks balance and harmony whereas Scorpio is more intense, and can be considered heavier or even obsessive in nature at times. Love is a serious matter to those with Venus in Scorpio, as is money, and Venus rules both along with our values.

No sign is better than another but a planet can be better placed where it operates easily and more smoothly. Venus in Scorpio is considered ‘at its detriment,’ by astrologers which means it doesn’t operate as easily as in does in other signs and the energy can misbehave, so to speak, and so can we!

Venus in the signs is a matter of love styles. If you were born with a Venus in Scorpio your approach to love will be far different from a Venus in Libra or Cancer or any other sign for that matter.

Venus in Scorpio can attract others with their intensity and a willingness to make commitments. Feelings run deep, but at times they can display jealousy or a desire to dominate others.

Venus in Scorpio can become so intense that at worst some could feel obsessively entangled with someone they may not even know that well. Since Scorpio is water sign feelings and emotions can seem overpowering and this can be difficult for some, especially for Fire and Air signs.

Scorpio is known as the sexiest of the twelve signs and for Scorpio sex is at the top of the list. Scorpio is complex and craves intimacy like air but they are not always open in terms of what they should tell or express to their lover. Scorpio is secretive in nature and can be looking for power over his/her lover or to use sex to manipulate those feelings. Venus in Scorpio will bring intensity and passion to the bedroom. Scorpio considers sex personal, erotic and necessary to emotional survival. Once burned, Venus in Scorpio never forgets, and can spend years dwelling on someone they feel hurt by.

On the other hand Venus in this sign can be a magical and passionate time that you never forget. Loyalty is important to Venus in Scorpio and it is typically reciprocated. Scorpio can have a wonderful ability to heal and regenerate both yourself and others.

September 25th, Venus opposes Neptune-Love and money come into focus today. Confusion will abound so if something seems too good to be true…you know the rest.

Mercury enters Libra September 26-October 13th

As Mercury in Libra is prone toward procrastination we may feel this strongly through the sign that can be maddingly indecisive and changeable.

Love and partnerships

Over the next three weeks our thoughts will turn toward partnerships of all types. Many of us will be thinking of romance as Libra is ruled by Venus and Libra rules the 7th house of marriage and partners.

Libra likes to find balance and please others but this energy is known as being changeable. It would not be unusual to hear someone with Mercury in Libra state an opinion, and then do an about turn and say, ‘but then again on the other hand ...’ Libra likes to weigh all options. Since Mercury/Libra has an innate ability to see things from all viewpoints Libra in Mercury can seem indecisive, but most of the time it is a careful consideration of all options and viewpoints.

Communication will take on a friendlier, more congenial tone as opposed to the critical and demanding tone Mercury in Virgo can produce. Libra has an innate sense of fairness, which is how they come by their reputation of being peacemakers.  After all, the symbol for Libra is the scales of justice.

Some words that describe Libra in Mercury are diplomatic, charming, smooth, flirty and sympathetic. Also, indecisive, procrastination, people pleaser and over-intellectualizing.

Since Libra does not like conflict, people will be more prone toward compromise and finding some common value or solution. Libra will do almost anything to avoid conflict or an argument which can create a great deal of confusion in others to the point that Libra energy can sometimes seem passive-aggressive.

Libra is an air sign which means Mercury in this sign has the ability to see the big picture with great clarity. Libra is also a Cardinal sign which means change can occur due to active assertion of ideas or action. During Mercury’s time in Libra we will experience several Cardinal squares when Mercury clashes with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto. These days will be prone to a great deal of activity or change and personal will or ego may come into play during interaction with others.

Happy Fall and Best Wishes!
