Mars, Uranus and the North Node

 

Mars has moved into its conjunction with Uranus and the North Node. This aspect will not be exact until August 1^st, but we will feel the energy in the days beforehand as well as a few days after this transit passes.

Mars rules our action, men, war and police to name a few things, and Uranus is considered the planet of unexpected events.

As Taurus is ruled by Venus, this aspect can definitely affect relationships or finance, and some relationships will end at this time, or it could represent divorce or some other type of separation. For this to happen however, there would be other aspects in the chart, and typically this would only occur if the relationship is brand new and undefined or tottering on the edge. A new relationship that begins at this time has no guarantee of stability.

Since Uranus rules freedom and independence this will become a theme and for some this could represent a point of breaking away from things, or even people that are found to be oppressive or not serving our interests. It can also trigger a type of rebellion against conformity. Since both Uranus and Mars are in the fixed sign Taurus, there could be resistance to change until some type of explosive situation occurs bringing it to a head.

Otherwise, this aspect is indicative sudden and unexpected events, depending on where this falls in your personal chart.

As Mars and Uranus conjunct the North Node (which is a point, not a planet), it is important to remain open to the fact that whatever actually happens may be pointing you in the direction of your actual destiny.

Friday, August 29^th is an important day to watch as the New Moon in Leo will set off this powerful triple conjunction.

This aspect can be challenging, and for some it will bring liberation that has been long awaited for.

This aspect will certainly play out in the world in terms of significant events. This aspect falls on the Sun of the US stock market, so it is hard not to believe we will not see market swings at this time or some other type of financial news.

Taurus is an earth sign and Uranus is associated with earthquakes and weather related issues so this is a strong possibility as well along with problems with aircraft, the internet, explosions, and the potential for violence.

It is important to use care and be aware of these energies over the next number of days. If you have fixed planets in your chart (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) you will be affected more than others.

 

 

The planet of luck and gain turns retrograde

 

Jupiter turns retrograde July 28-November 23^rd for a period of about 4 months as it does every year. This year, it will begin its retrograde in Aries and move back into Pisces on October 29^th, so the planet of luck and gain will retrograde through two signs. Jupiter entered its pre retrograde ‘shadow’ period on May 4^th and  will remain in its ‘direct shadow’ period until February 14^th, 2023.  The shadow period of any retrograde simply means the planetary energy is adjusting and changing to either begin a retrograde or go back to normal after a retrograde.

 

Astrologers refer to Jupiter as the ‘greater benefic’. Jupiter bestows abundance and material success, luck and good fortune, joy and positivity. Some of its qualities include benevolence, a love of justice, kindness, gain and generosity. While Jupiter’s negative qualities are seldom mentioned they are typically associated with the belief luck and expansion can go on forever, expanding too fast, over indulging, overspending or blowing things out of proportion.

 Jupiter’s retrograde does not mean we will be without luck but during this time we will focus more on personal inner growth rather than those things that are outside of ourselves and material growth. Jupiter’s retrograde is not a negative aspect as it helps us work on issues concerning personal happiness, money and success which can be implemented when it turns direct again. Some may hardly notice the retrograde of Jupiter as it has a very subtle affect.

If you have been working at accomplishing something with no real structure or plan for getting there this will be the time to step back and look at the bigger picture. It does not mean loss, but is more akin to working smartly instead of hard, and directing your actions along the most profitable and fortuitous lines.

You may encounter some type of detour or correction during the four month retrograde depending on where Jupiter is transiting in your personal chart. You may question many things philosophically and your viewpoint on some things could change as you seek deeper truths and greater meaning in all you do at this time.

In addition to money and finances Jupiter rules courts/judiciaries lawyers, foreigners, and foreign places, education, religion, medicine, and spirituality. All of these things can shift in some way and we will see these matters play out in the world and our personal lives.

While Jupiter is retrograde in Aries we will be focused more on our own personal desires, goals and activities and what changes we can make to further our own agenda. Mars is the ruler of Aries, and Mars is all about taking action and moving forward. It’s possible you could be presented with some type of moral dilemma, so choosing the right path should not be rushed.

After October 29^thwhen Jupiter moves back into Pisces the energies will shift considerably as Pisces is the natural ruler of the 12^th house of things that are hidden or secret. Pisces planetary rulers are Jupiter and Neptune and Neptune rules creativity, spirituality, and compassion.

We may feel a bit confused as Jupiter retrogrades in this sign as Neptune is also connected with illusion, delusion and confusion. The beginning of Jupiter’s return to Pisces can be quite noticeable because of the huge shift in energy between these two signs.

We must guard against being overly optimistic, and view things as they really are, not as we want or hope for them to be. We need to be aware of scammers, con artists and the like, along with others who may try and deceive us, and this can include self deception. This is truly a time to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground and check out all information especially if it involves money or some type of commitment. Sacrificing oneself and personal beliefs to accommodate another person seldom works out well, but this often happens with planets in the sign Pisces. This who are prone to alcohol or substance abuse may have a much harder time during Jupiter’s retrograde in Pisces. On a higher note, Jupiter in Pisces may feel as though your faith is restored and you can be at one with the universe once again.

Jupiter/Pisces is associated with the 9^th house of ideas, travel, education, publishing, world view and religious or philosophical viewpoints. Our personal world views may expand or change along with a potential yearning for travel and faraway places. Jupiter’s retrograde in Pisces will be a time of inner reflection, creativity, compassion for ourselves and others, and for some a spiritual journey. Dreams may be vivid and you may feel as though your intuition is increasing. Jupiter will remain in Pisces until December 21^st when it re-enters Aries until May of 2023.

Astrologer Leslie Hale specializes in astrological guidance to empower you with knowledge of future events, relationships, financial and major life situations.  In this interview Leslie shares with MysticMag her journey into astrology, her approach and significant events to look out.

When did you first become interested in astrology and what is it that resonates with you the most?

I became interested in astrology as a teenager. It seemed like a fascinating subject and so I began collecting all of the astrology books I could find. Later, when I went to college I took an astrology course. Astrology seemed so complex I never thought I would learn it and dropped out of the class! A few years later I met the person who became my astrology teacher and in the decades that have followed, I have never looked back. It is still just as fascinating as it was in the beginning, and although I have studied and practiced for years, I am still amazed.

Astrology shows us there is a method to the madness in our lives and the world, and that everything is working perfectly, right on time. Astrology is a complex science/art and is made up of cycles within cycles and when you learn to read the patterns and the aspects you realize there is a blueprint we can look at that will play out in our lives and in the world, and the timing is always perfect and we are where we are meant to be at any given time.

Are there any specific areas that you specialize in?

I love mundane astrology or the study of world events. Most people who call however are interested in events that affect them personally such as relationships or work so I have intensely studied synasty or the dynamics of two people who come together. In other words, ‘relationship astrology’ or compatibility and the chances of any given relationship lasting or working out. Money and jobs are also a topic I spend a great deal of time on as well as psychological astrology also called transpersonal astrology or what makes people tick!

What are some of the ways that you have found astrology to be a helpful tool for you in your life?

It’s really nice to know what your chances are of succeeding at something. I once had to go before the City council concerning a property issue. My chart didn’t look great and there was not a lot of ‘luck’ that appeared to benefit me. Knowing this, I still gave it my best but it allowed me to think about the fact that I might not win so prepare a Plan B. I didn’t win the case, but I wasn’t overly disappointed as I already felt that chances were good. There were however, some extenuating circumstances about the case, so while I didn’t technically win, I also didn’t walk away having completely failed and was prepared for the results so I could deal with them.

It’s good to know what kind of day, week or year lies ahead. Many people call me just for this when it is an important day. If something looks ‘off’ we can remain calm until it plays out. You don’t have to embrace negative or disruptive energy or have the worst possible outcome if you are aware of what to expect and this is a real plus.

How do you approach negative aspects?

There are always going to be negative aspects and while no one wants to hear this it is part of the overall plan the Universe presents to us, usually for personal growth. If I see a negative transit approaching my first question is, ‘how can this aspect be worked with to alter the results so it isn’t so negative? Alternatively, ‘what have I learned from this to avoid the same situation in the future?’

Otherwise, we all have certain negative experiences in life, no matter who you are, it is just part of life. There are some things we can change, and other things that are outside of our control we can only learn to live with. All things and situations pass, nothing lasts forever, and being aware of this always helps. Also, through astrology, you can see exactly when things will change and what you have to work with as well as what you can look forward to.

Lastly are there any significant upcoming astrological events that we should be aware of?

Yes, Saturn is approaching its final square to Uranus which began in 2021. The peak period for this is late September through mid-October. Saturn deals with our structures in life, and Uranus pertains to unexpected events and shocking change or things that seem to come out of the blue shaking us up. The closer we get to the ‘peak’ the more likely something unexpected is to happen. Since Taurus rules money, we could collectively experience some type of financial shakeup at this time along with inflation. Certainly, this won’t be just one event, but many. News will happen so quickly it will be hard to keep up with what’s going on in the world.

This aspect is already affecting us as we watch the turmoil it is causing with the war in Ukraine, inflation and political turmoil in the US and England along with many other things.

This powerful aspect can play out in many different ways in our personal lives depending on where it falls in your own chart. It could represent a job or relationship loss, move, financial loss or some other unexpected change. In some cases however, change may be anticipated.

In certain instances an aspect like this can represent the completion of a project or an ending to something you have been working on for a long time, at best.

This will affect all of us to some degree, some more than others. If you have planets in your personal chart in Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius or Leo at roughly 16-20 degrees you will be impacted. Alternatively, if you were born (roughly) May 6-11, August 8-13, November 8-13 or February 4-9th, this transit will definitely affect your chart and some type of change is imminent.

If this does aspect something in your chart you are probably already aware or have a feeling of impending change. The best way to handle this energy is to look toward positive changes as opposed to negative. For example, if you work in a job that you know is ending, focus on a new opportunity. If a break up occurs in your personal life, the relationship has in all likelihood has outlived its purpose. Review the negative and the positive and focus on improving yourself or what you could do to find a more lasting and appropriate relationship in the future. In this way, we can make this transit less stressful. Focus your energy on something positive and productive that you want to change. This way you can control your own personal direction to a far greater degree than if you don’t. Most of all, remember to stay grounded and keep your feet planted firmly on the ground and keep moving forward.

When will the state of the world improve?

 

This is a question I am asked often. There are several layers to astrology; mundane astrology is the study of the world and world events.  Almost all of those who call are looking for answers in their personal lives, and this is typically what astrologers practice but we must take mundane astrology into consideration as well. For instance, 2020 had an effect on almost everyone to some degree with Covid and the lockdowns and this was a result of the powerful Pluto-Saturn conjunction.  

Some people still prosper when mundane astrology is not good, and everything is never bad for everyone. That said, if your personal astrology is difficult and mundane astrology is good, you will still experience challenges in your own personal life.

During 2021-22 we are all experiencing the powerful Saturn-Uranus square which is an aspect associated with societal upheaval, anarchy and financial issues. This can be clearly seen to anyone who watches the news.

The first major change will be Pluto’s entrance into Aquarius on March 8th, 2023. It will go back and forth from Aquarius to Capricorn for a few years. Pluto rules the collective and Aquarius is associated with liberty, equality and brotherhood.

The next major change will be Neptune’s entrance into Aries April 2025. Neptune-Aries will be far different from Neptune’s transit through Pisces which has contributed to Covid and a huge number of disenfranchised people.

In July of 2025 Uranus will enter Gemini. The planet of the unexpected will produce a great many changes while in this sign as it moves out of Taurus, the sign that affects money.

By February of 2026 Saturn enters Aries and by July of this year Jupiter enters Leo.

Bear in mind that sextiles and trines are positive so by July of 2026 Jupiter trines Saturn and Neptune and sextiles Pluto and Uranus. Saturn in Aries will Sextile Uranus, and Pluto and trine Jupiter. Uranus will sextile Jupiter and Saturn, and trine Pluto. Neptune will conjunct Saturn and sextile Uranus and Pluto and Pluto in Aquarius will sextile Neptune and Saturn and trine Uranus.

This does not mean will live in Utopia or that everything will be perfect but it will be far different from what we are experiencing today and as always what is in your own personal chart matters most, but the outer planets always show us the state of the world.

With Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus in Gemini technology will take off like a rocket as will science and there is no telling what benefits society will experience. While every sign has its ‘dark side’ for all of the outer planets to line up in this manner will be something we haven’t seen in generations.

Astrologer Andre Barbualt calls this time ‘the most benefic of the century that will work for the best in a splendid relaunch of civilization. It includes ‘the coming together of the external and internal, rational and spiritual, mind and soul..human beings surpassing themselves while experiencing life on a higher level.’

So, 2026 is when we will see a great shift for the betterment of all of society! Until then we can just keep on moving forward with the understanding that good things can and will still happen but 2026 will be a turning point for all of us!
