Astrology of July 2021

 

Last month brought a significant lunar eclipse in Gemini and the second of three difficult squares between Uranus and Saturn. The Gemini eclipse energy will remain with us until the next lunar eclipse in November putting an emphasis on communication, the way we communicate with each other, information and facts versus misinformation or lies.

As Saturn squared Uranus, US President Biden met with Russia’s Putin, it was revealed The Trump Administration made efforts to convince the DOJ to change election results, oil prices hit a 2 year high, Israel’s Netanyahu was ousted, the Supreme court refused to overturn ObamaCare, there was a continued push to take away voting rights in Republican States, 44 percent of the US had gotten vaccinated, and as of May, 2021 there have been 240 mass shootings in the US to name a few things that happened. Saturn-Uranus transits coincide with significant world changes and upheaval which will continue throughout this year and into 2022.

This volatile and changeable energy trickles down to us individually as well as the world and those who have fixed planets (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) between 11-14 degrees have experienced many changes over the past month, some of them unexpected. To some extent all of us will experience change as a result of this transit, some more than others.

If you are among those who felt displaced or in some cases turned upside down last month, the energies should begin to lighten up some after the first part of July. We will experience one more clash between Uranus and Saturn, the latter part of this year Of course, just like this last peak significant events will occur before the clash is exact and going into 2022.

During July, the Sun travels through Cancer and then Leo, and Mercury, the planet of communication will finally leave its retrograde shadow period, and move through two more signs; Cancer and Leo.

The action planet Mars, remains in Leo, amping up our desire for summer romance, fun and pleasure, then moves into the more serious sign of Virgo July 29^th.

The planet of love or Venus joins forces with Mars in Leo. Venus and Mars are the two planets that affect our love and will travel together the first three weeks of July creating exciting opportunities for fun and adventure as well as romantic possibilities. Sparks fly when these two planets join together.

This month we will experience a Full moon in Cancer July 9^th, and a New moon in Aquarius July 23^rd.

 July’s transits

July 1^st Mars becomes part of a t-square with Uranus and Saturn. A t-square is a transit that looks like a ‘T’ as it involves the energies of three planets. In this case Mars will once again ‘set off’ the energies of the Saturn-Uranus square. The combined energies of these three planets, especially Mars-Uranus, and Mars-Saturn are considered malefic, difficult and changeable especially if you have fixed planets at 12-14 degrees. In other words, if you were affected by the Saturn-Uranus square last month you will experience further change or disruption the first part of July.

This energy can manifest as an exciting week for many as we experience the first July 4^th Holiday as the Covid restrictions have been lifted. With the upcoming New Moon in Cancer we can expect numerous family celebrations and displays of patriotism.

This energy is worth paying attention to however, and not putting yourself in dangerous or questionable circumstances as Mars-Uranus indicates explosive and unexpected events. This energy will certainly last through the July 4^th holiday when the Moon in Taurus conjuncts Uranus and joins the planetary mix creating even more unpredictable energies. It is even possible we will see volatile or unexpected incidents in the country or world given the nature the times we are living in.

July 1^st Mars opposes Saturn. This is typically a frustrating and restrictive transit that could make you feel hemmed in or angry. Mars does not like limitations, which Saturn represents. If you can find the focus to direct your energy toward a specific project this energy may be easier to deal with as long as you are aware you could encounter circumstances that make you feel limited. The nature of an opposition is encountering problems through others.

July 3^rd Mars squares Uranus. This can be a very excitable transit, prone to unexpected events and changes of plans. If you handle fireworks, use caution as it is explosive and can be dangerous. What is actually happening this day is the energies of both Mars and Uranus are combining with Saturn at the same time. While the energy will weaken after the 4^th, it will still remain with us for at least a week.

July 5^th, the energy of the holiday may linger if you can get away with it! Sun sextile Uranus is a positive, upbeat transit and there can be a feeling of excitement in the air. Try something new, even if it is a new route to work. You may feel very independent!

July 6^th, Mercury squares Neptune for the third time and final time. We experienced this June 5^th, and the weekend of May 28^th. This is a confusing aspect, and the energy may be hard to deal with. When an aspect like this comes back 3 times there may be something we have failed to deal with. All you hear or read may not be based on fact so be careful if you make an important decision, or better still make it another day. This can also be indicative of creativity, compassion and spiritual pursuits. Also, Venus opposes Saturn complicating matters further. This is neither an exciting or positive social transit. Having come back from the holiday you may feel pressed to get things done. The focus will be on work and obligations, but matters may seem confused or more complicated with the Neptune transit. For some this can manifest as relationship issues.

July 8^th, Venus squares Uranus and another weekend is approaching! This aspect can be considered exciting, if not changeable. With this transit our focus often changes toward things that are new or untried. This can be a positive social aspect but changeable, and things that happen may not be or have lasting value.

July’s New Moon

This month’s New Moon falls at 18 degrees of Cancer 0n July 9^th. Cancer rules home and family in astrology as well as our emotional lives. Cancer is the most emotional and intuitive of signs and is sometimes considered moody and changeable.

As this moon trines Neptune, we may feel compassion for others as well as creativity, and your intuition may become stronger. Moon-Neptune can represent spiritual or metaphysical pursuits, vivid dreams and high creativity.

The Moon also opposes Pluto. Moon-Pluto can represent deep seated emotional issues or issues with the past, obsessiveness and anxiety, or problems with women. We could may hear of issues that affect the country and the people.

July 12, Mercury trines Jupiter. This is a positive transit for any type of communication and operates in a hopeful manner.

July 13^th, Venus conjuncts Mars. The focus of this transit has to do with money and your love life. Interest in romance is common, and this could turn into a social day. This is also positive for business and money concerns.

July 15^th, the Sun trines Neptune. This is a creative, spiritual and compassionate transit. Your intuition may be over the top, and this is a pleasant aspect.

July 17^th, the Sun opposes Pluto. This occurs once a year and is prone to power struggles, and dealing with situations and things that may break down at this time. Don’t push contentious issues unless you can handle the push back. You may find that deep subconscious forces and issues come to the surface and must be dealt with. This can also represent abuse of power, manipulation and sudden attacks from others, as well as issues concerning money or in some cases, sex and scandals. Sometimes we hear of a death of a public figure. This will usher in a few heavy news days.

July 20^th, Mercury sextiles Uranus. This day is prone to approaching things from a different angle and in new ways. Brilliant ideas could manifest at this time.

July 22, Venus opposes Jupiter. This is generally a pleasant social influence but you may not have a lot of motivation for work. It is prone to over spending and over indulgence but overall is a pleasant aspect.

July Full Moon

July’s full moon falls at 1 degree of Aquarius on July 23^rd. Aquarius rules the 11^th house of the collective, groups or friends, so our focus will be in this area. Aquarius is considered the sign of the humanitarian so this will be a time when we become interested in issues that affect us all, or alternatively we may feel drawn to helping others or getting together with certain groups or friends.. This feeling will be amplified by Mercury’s trine to Neptune which is also a pleasant and compassionate influence

As this moon is within orb of Saturn and Uranus we will be concerned with responsibilities, work, issues from the past, and for some there could be a certain amount of heaviness, although this should not be the most significant affect. Moon-Uranus aspects can lead to unexpected and unpredictable events in the world and in our lives. Aquarius is also ruled by Saturn and Uranus so this moon may be changeable and prone toward freedom and breaking away from certain things and themes.

July 25^th, Mercury opposes Pluto. This is prone toward arguments, disagreements, revelations and propaganda. Someone may convince you of something, or alternatively you may try and do the convincing. Be careful of accidents, especially if you are driving. This will be another heavy news period.

July 29^th, the last transit of the month occurs as Mars opposes Jupiter. Expect news concerning money, laws, politics and courts on the world scene. This can create a certain amount of exuberance or you could finish something you have been working on. Situations can however get blown out of proportion although it is generally positive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The planet of luck and gain steps back: Jupiter retrograde

 

Jupiter, the planet of luck, gain and expansion, turns retrograde June 20-October 18^th.  Jupiter turns retrograde for about 4 months every year.

 

This does not mean we will be without luck or gain, but during Jupiter’s retrograde we may focus more on inner growth than the outside world. Jupiter retrograde is not like Mercury retrograde when so many things go haywire. In some cases you may hardly notice it. Jupiter’s retrograde is not a negative aspect as it helps us work on issues concerning personal happiness, money, growth and success.

 If you have been working at accomplishing something with no real structure or plan for getting there Jupiter retrograde will be the time to step back and look at the bigger picture and how you will approach things. It does not necessarily mean loss, but is more akin to working smartly and directing your actions along the most profitable and fortuitous lines.

Many things can be affected by a Jupiter retrograde. In addition to money and finances Jupiter rules courts/judiciaries lawyers, foreigners, and foreign places, education, religion, medicine, and spirituality. All of these things can shift in some way and we will see these matters play out and change in the world and our personal lives.

 

Jupiter turns retrograde in Pisces June 20^th and will remain in this sign until July 29^th, when it retrogrades back into Aquarius, so Jupiter’s retrograde period spans two signs this year.

 

Pisces is the natural ruler of the 12^th house of endings and things that are hidden or secret. As Jupiter retrogrades in this sign, certain things may be revealed you were not aware of. As the rulers of Jupiter are Pisces and Neptune we may feel a bit confused as Jupiter begins its retrograde as Neptune is the ruler of illusion, delusion and confusion. The beginning of the retrograde can be more noticeable because of the shift in energy at that time.

 

We must guard against being overly optimistic, and view things as they really are, not as we want or hope for them to be. Under this aspect we need to be aware of scammers, con artists and the like, along with others who may try and deceive us, and at times this can include self deception. This is truly a time to keep your feet planted firmly on the ground and check out all information if it involves money or some type of commitment. All things may not be as they appear at this time. Sacrificing oneself and personal beliefs to accommodate another person seldom works out well, and this is something else to be aware of. This who are prone to alcohol or substance abuse may have a much harder time during Jupiter’s retrograde in Pisces.

 

Jupiter in Pisces is connected to creativity, spirituality, creative expression, compassion and intuition on the positive end. Jupiter is also associated with the 9^th house of ideas, travel, education, publishing, world view and religious or philosophical viewpoints so there will be a great deal of focus or expansion in these areas as well. Our personal world views may expand or change along with a potential yearning for travel and faraway places. Jupiter’s retrograde in Pisces will be a time of inner reflection, creativity, compassion and for some a spiritual journey. Dreams may be vivid and you may feel as though your intuition is increasing.

In the world it is likely we will seen an increase in propaganda and conspiracy theories, some of which will be over the top. Be aware of what you read and believe during this period. 

Jupiter in Aquarius rules the 11^th house of the collective and is associated with brotherhood, freedom, and new ways of approaching things. There will be more concern with the collective, and how we personally fit into things. As Jupiter retrogrades back into this sign, many things will become much clearer than they were while Jupiter was in Pisces.

While Jupiter was direct in Aquarius we saw many new ideas being presented that affect the collective. During its retrograde, details will be worked out, and we will learn just how much benefit we will all reap from new ideas and approaches.

Aquarius is ruled by Saturn and Uranus, so during this time we may see many sudden and unexpected things happen in our lives and the world. You could be tested to make sure you are ready to receive the abundance you desire. Retrograde Jupiter can help you face issues such as addiction, a mentality of lack, or other issues that may be preventing you from reaching your goals.

In the world we can expect more political disagreements during Jupiter’s retrograde and a great deal of political turmoil if not upheaval. In a way this period will represent the will of the people versus the will of those in charge.

By the time Jupiter stations to go direct in late September, you should have come to terms with any issues you faced during Jupiter’s retrograde.

Jupiter will turn direct October 18^th, and we will once again be ready to move toward the abundance and prosperity we all seek. Jupiter will turn direct at 22 degrees of Aquarius and if this makes a positive aspect in your chart, you have a certain amount of luck and opportunity to look forward to.

 

 

 

Powerful solar clipse June 10th

 

June will bring the second of two eclipses this spring, and this is a new moon solar eclipse that falls at 19 degrees of Gemini on June 10^th. This is an annular solar eclipse which is sometimes referred to as a ‘ring of fire’ eclipse as the outer edges of the Sun seem brightly lit like fire as the moon passes in front of it.

Gemini is all about possibilities, adaptability, openness and different choices along with communication. Mercury, the planet of communication is Gemini’s ruling planet and Mercury is retrograde. When Mercury is retrograde at the time of an eclipse it can delay events connected to the eclipse, sometimes by days or weeks. Issues could also arise with communication in term of delays, setbacks or lack of clarity in some way. All electronic communication could be affected. This will be an extremely busy time and we should expect more personal action and communication in our neighborhoods, the internet, with siblings and schools. Meetings, social activities and correspondence may increase as well.

This eclipse last occurred by degree and sign on June 10^th, 2002 as solar eclipses repeat every 19 years. If you are old enough to remember this period it may give you a clue as to what you should expect during this eclipse.

Communication will be important and since Mercury is retrograde and falls next to the moon, you may feel reflective or connected to something or someone from the past that could include family members, extended family or those who are the closest to you.

This eclipse squares Neptune (along with Mercury), the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion. You could feel tired and drained, melancholy or confused and unsure of your direction. For some, this may cause anxiety or a feeling of being uncertain about something or someone.  If this is the case make no final determinations until the energy has passed. At times, new information can be revealed on Neptune transits. What is needed at the time of this eclipse is clarity, honesty and caution, as the Moon’s square to Neptune can bring about the opposite which could result in deception, lack of clarity and confusion if you do not keep your feet on the ground, and remain steady. If something appears to be untrue or incorrect, don’t sweep it under the rug.  You may feel insecure and prone toward going down rabbit holes that don’t really exist. This may also complicate or confuse business deals or other important conversations.

The positive use of this energy is compassion, creativity and spiritual insights. You could experience any of the above situations or activities along with vivid dreams and feelings of psychic insight.

As Saturn is square Uranus June 14^th this eclipse may seem very significant in our lives and around the globe. Unexpected events are prone to occurring at this time on a personal level and in the world

On the world stage we can expect more confusion, propaganda, conspiracy theories and potential untruths to be revealed in the days before and after the eclipse. Communication issues and problems may arise that could include the internet, hackings, mail service or we could hear news relating to these things. Neptune rules gas, chemical substances and water, and could see water related weather events or events at sea. In the US we can expect more news relating to racial issues and inequities and potential scandal.  We could also see or hear of events concerning those who are considered to be enemies to the US.

This eclipse along with the May 26^th lunar eclipse form an eclipse cycle that will last until the next lunar eclipse November 19^th, so we will continue to see events connected to these eclipses play out.
