December 2025 astrology!

This month The Sun transits through Sagittarius and enters Capricorn, the first sign of winter.  Mercury will leave Scorpio for Sagittarius, and Mars leaves Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. Saturn is direct and Neptune turns direct. We have a full moon in Gemini and a new moon in Sagittarius. Now, the details.

December 4/5th full moon

This month’s full moon falls at 13 degrees of Gemini. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, the planet of young people, commerce and communication and Gemini is the natural ruler of the 3rd house of thinking, travel and immediate family members.

The moon opposes the Sun, Venus and Mars. Venus rules love, money and values and Mars rules young men. The potential exists for issues in love or with money in some way. Venus also rules our social lives.

Gemini is about thinking and communicating with others which may make you feel quite good on this moon. It is all about spontaneity and looking at things from new and different angles.

With the Moon’s opposition to Mars however, the potential exists for upsets, anger and Mars rules military and police on the world stage.

That said the potential for good exists with a grand trine involving Jupiter, Saturn and the Sun/Mercury all in water. A grand trine pulls in the energies of all three planets in a way they can work harmoniously together. That said, we have entered into Mars square with Saturn which is a frustrating transit which is exact in a few days.

December 8th, Mars squares Saturn. The energy of this transit will begin a few days before and last at least a few days after the transit is exact on December 8th. This transit has to do with frustration, blockages and irritation/arguments. If something seems impossible to do or complete wait a few days and let this energy pass by and you may have more success. This is a tiring, draining influence and it may seem nothing is happening or everything is delayed which is the nature of Saturn. Patience is the key in our personal lives. This aspect will play out in the world and it has a war like nature.

December 10th, Neptune turns direct and Mercury opposes Uranus.

Neptune turns direct December 10th at 29 degrees of Pisces after its 5 month retrograde in the signs of Aries/Pisces. Neptune retrogrades every year and while its retrograde is not dramatic like retrograde Mercury, it nevertheless can have a profound impact, especially if it is making an aspect in your personal chart.

Neptune is the planet associated with illusion, confusion and delusion, addictions, lies and deception, self-deception, and the seamy side of life. It also rules religion, spirituality, creativity, movies, the oceans, psychics, psychic abilities and theatre to name only a few. Neptune is also associated with compassion and can represent a desire to help others.

As this powerful planet turns direct confusion may increase for the time, and events may be revealed for what they really are, especially if Neptune is aspecting other planets in your chart in a harsh angle. Neptunian events have a tendency to appear as surprising, but in actuality the basis of what gets revealed was there all along, just hidden in a fog of confusion and obscured from recognition.  Examples of this can frequently show up relating to matters of the heart. For example, the person you are interested in does not feel the same way, or is committed to someone else, or involved with others all along and you are faced with the reality and having to take off your rose colored glasses. We may feel the person we were attracted to is our soul mate or a perfect partner which leads to discouragement, depression and disenchantment. Often when Neptune retrogrades we find out that our dreams were not based on reality and we can experience a period of confusion.

This could affect any aspect of your life depending on where transiting Neptune is in your personal chart... Others may barely notice a change if Neptune is not aspecting their personal charts.

If Neptune is making a positive aspect in your chart you may feel that you have achieved some type of dream or things may appear or seem ideal for a time.

Neptune will remain at 29 degrees of Pisces until January 26th, 2026 when it re-enters Aries where it will remain until March of 2039.

Neptune is conjunct Saturn in Pisces until February 14th when Saturn moves into Aries joining Neptune which has already entered Aries so we will experience this powerful conjunction in 2 separate signs.

Saturn-Neptune transits are difficult and coincide with major world changes as we have seen throughout 2025. This is not an easy aspect to navigate as Neptune rules the unconscious and Saturn rules reality. Since Neptune has a dissolving affect we can see our global as well as personal realities dissolving around us and morphing into something new which will occur under Neptune/Saturn in Aries.

Saturn will conjunct Neptune in close orb until about May of 2026. When these planets begin separating we will have an easier time. Aries is the 1st sign of the zodiac which rules new beginnings. While our old realities will dissolve, we will replace them with new realities and new beginnings. I will write more about this next month.

On the same day Neptune turns direct Mercury opposes Uranus again. This is an erratic transit that may make some nervous and seem exciting to others depending on how you are wired. Use caution driving because people are easily distracted. It is an unpredictable planet and can have to do with unexpected changes, unexpected communication or sudden mental/emotional change and play out as unexpected events in the world.

Mercury enters Sagittarius

December 11th Mercury re-enters Sagittarius until December 31st. Mercury began its transit in this sign October 29-November 19th when due to the retrograde it moved back into the sign of Scorpio. Don’t be surprised if you don’t go back to certain things that began in November and got sidelined.

Sagittarius is the sign ruled by Jupiter the planet of luck and expansion, and Mercury rules travel, communication, young people and our thinking. Our thoughts may turn to travel or family members/extended family and our thinking will be broader and greatly expanded. We may also feel more buoyant, upbeat and impulsive.

Mercury is not totally comfortable in this energy, but this does not mean things will take a negative turn. In Sagittarius/ Mercury worries about the bigger picture of things but can lose track of smaller but important details.

Mercury in this sign is associated with expansion and the spreading of knowledge that can have a great deal of depth. This is an outgoing time and socializing with others will come easier than normal even for those who are shy. This Mercury is about visions of the future and can shine a light on that that which needs to be brought to light.

The challenge with Mercury in this sign is developing discernment in the quest for truth and not falling prey to every idea that crosses your path or blowing an idea totally out of proportion. We must remember that it is only through discernment that we can we narrow down ideas to find the path to real truth, which is the true quest for Sagittarius.

December 14th Mars enters Capricorn and squares Neptune.

Mars squares Neptune at its last degree of Sagittarius or 29 degrees. While the square peaks in the early morning hours we will feel the energy the day or two before.

Mars-Neptune is not a good combination. Mars is associated with action and ego and Neptune has a dissolving affect. This transit can be tiring, negative or melancholy. Neptune obscures the truth and details so this is a poor day to handle anything serious that concerns important decisions and money. Neptune transits are often associated with water related weather conditions, deception and gasses.

Otherwise, Mars in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, and Capricorn is not a light hearted sign. Mars in this sign is concerned with business, priorities, and finding or achieving value, and most of all stability on some level.

Mars rules energy, men, sex, action and our drive. Our day to day actions and priorities are colored by the sign Mars is transiting through at any given time.

Saturn, the ruler of this sign shows us our boundaries and limitations. While Capricorn is associated with Saturn which can at times relate to austerity, Capricorn can also be rich, warm and enduring.

If you were born under the sign of Capricorn or are a Capricorn ascendant, expect to become very busy during this time, and this begins a new two year cycle for you.

December 16th, the Sun squares Saturn. This transit occurs several times a year and Saturn can restrict, delay and make us feel as though we are getting nowhere. This may be the case but if so it will only be for a day or so until the transit separates. This can be tiring and somewhat negative and we are often dealing with situations we would rather be not dealing with but Saturn is also about responsibility. This transit usually foretells a heavy news day.

December 20th, the Sun squares Neptune and Venus squares Saturn. Sun-Neptune transits can be tiring and confusing. This is another day not to make important decisions on as Neptune often obscures the real picture. Venus square Saturn can be a negative day for love or social relations and it too can be tiring. Some may feel alone or unloved but this is simply the austere feeling that is connected to a transit of this nature and its best not to take it too seriously. Neptune transits can also be connected to water related events/

December 21st the Sun enters Capricorn until January 20th, 2026 and this is the Winter Solstice at 10:03 AM, EST

The winter solstice marks the first official day of winter, and the Sun enters Capricorn, the first Cardinal sign of winter which is the shortest day of the year.

Winter solstice is seen as a significant time in many cultures and countries, and winter officially begins.

During this time we will focus on important matters, perhaps a little (or a lot) more serious than when the Sun was in Sagittarius, which we have now left behind for another year. Capricorn energy is more down to earth, focused and committed to accomplishment. After all, Capricorn is known as the workaholic of the zodiac for a good reason. Capricorn people are usually, stable, responsible, business oriented and driven to achieve. Cappy is the natural ruler of the 10th house of work and business. We can save the ethereal energies for the Pisces season in about 2 months because now it is time to focus on what we want to create for ourselves! There is a time and season for everything, and Capricorn likes reaching for and attaining goals in a tangible sense.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn which represents both privation as well as great wealth. Saturn is restrictive in nature, so unless your ruling planet is Saturn (Capricorn and Aquarius) you may feel more reserved under a Saturn transit, or at least like reigning things in somewhat. On the other hand, Capricorn is the sign that rules big business soothe opposite can be true.

Capricorn is an Earth sign along with Taurus and Virgo. These are the signs that are considered reliable, stable and connected to the physical/material world and all it encompasses. Saturn/Capricorn rules land, buildings, marshes, the earth, teeth and bone structures.  It rules the knees, and Capricorn is known to have trouble in this area. Capricorn also rules authority, work, and quality of work and honors.

Capricorn isn’t just all about work though; it is about dedication, success, knowledge and understanding of how things can actually work, allowing us to get to where we really want to be. Capricorn takes action which leads to concrete results so we may actually manifest our dreams.

December 24th, Venus enters Capricorn until January 17th, 2026

Venus in Capricorn gives love and social activities a more traditional, enduring and committed flavor. The focus will shift from fun and good times (Sagittarius) to the more practical side of love, which is of course necessary if there is to be a future together.  For example, rather than spending on a 10 day cruise with your significant other, you may decide to save for a home or something else significant and lasting.

Sometimes there can be a desire for social prestige and attraction to those in positions of authority with Venus in this sign. Venus in Capricorn is attracted to wealth, security and status and if you are currently not in a relationship you may be attracted to someone in connection with work or in places of commerce. With Venus in Capricorn, ambition, work and results are front and center.

Love and friendships may take on a more committed or serious tone during this period. Many will be looking for ways to make our lives and loves more real in a tangible sense.

Venus in Capricorn is interested in the practical side of love and romance. Our focus may shift to a more traditional outlook and concerns with questions like where would we live and how do we pay for it?

Venus in Capricorn likes financial security and a successful partner will sweeten the deal. Romance can be overshadowed by responsibility which will generally come first while Venus transits this sign. Since Capricorn can be known as a workaholic, we may have to slow down a bit to smell the roses and do more than focus on work.

Venus-Capricorn takes a mature approach to relationships and love which must be earned while Venus is in this sign. Relationships will be built on a willingness to work together through difficult times, as Saturn understands the true meaning and value of commitment. Venus will reward hard work in relationships by defining obstacles and making the commitment together to solve problems and overcome obstacles.

What happens when Venus and Mars are in the same sign?

Sparks can fly to make it simple! In December Venus and Mars are joined in Sagittarius from December 1-15. This is great for Sagittarius, Gemini and Leo in particular as Venus and Mars are transiting your 5th house of love.

This duo doesn’t meet up often but when it does it can increase our chances of meeting someone significant if looking.

Happy Holidays to all!

November 2025: Uranus returns to Taurus, Jupiter/Mercury retrograde

This month the Sun finishes its transit through Scorpio and enters Sagittarius, the last sign of fall. Mercury turns retrograde November 9th until the 29th and will transit from Sagittarius back into Scorpio again where it turns direct late November. Mars enters Sagittarius on the 4th and will begin a volatile transit with Uranus. Jupiter, the money planet turns retrograde and Saturn turns direct. Uranus will re-enter the sign Taurus for one last pass through this sign and re-enter Gemini again late April 2026.

We will experience a full moon in Taurus and a new moon in Scorpio. This will set off the 2nd/8th house axis of the zodiac which means a great deal of the month will focused on money both collectively and individually.

Now, the details.

October 31-November 1st, Mercury is opposing Uranus in Gemini. This can be exciting for some and make others nervous. With this transit we can typically expect change of some sort that may be unexpected or we could experience unexpected communication. Use care if driving.

November 4th, Mars enters Sagittarius and begins its opposition to Uranus. You will be personally affected if you have mutable planets (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces) at 0-2 degrees.

This is a transit of unexpected events, volatility and potential explosions or explosive circumstances in the world so use care. In our personal lives we could see some type of unexpected change or tempers could easily flare.

Uranus rules technology, aircraft, spacecraft, electricity, innovation and freedom. Uranus is typically involved in coups, airplane crashes, technology breakdowns and unexpected events. It can also be indicative of accidents.

This transit will be with us through at least the 8th and its affects will linger even longer albeit it is waning. This will be the most volatile aspect of the month.

Mars enters Sagittarius

Expect energy as well as our actions to become more jovial, positive and optimistic, as Sagittarius is typically among the most positive and energetic of signs. Mars-Sagittarius will encourage us to find and act on our own independent nature. Freedom is a theme with Mars in this sign, as well as the key to the energy. Sagittarius does not like feeling bogged down in structures or relationships. Energy is often playful and this time can be full of unexpected pleasant surprises.

Sagittarius is an expansive sign, and is ruled by the planet Jupiter, considered the ‘greater benefic,’ and the harbinger of luck making Sagittarius is the most ‘lucky’ sign of all.  Justice and honesty are also key words associated with Sagittarius and truth is extremely important to Sagittarius whatever the truth may reveal.

Sagittarius is interested in expanding the personal viewpoint and adventure. Don’t be surprised if you don’t want to explore new ways of approaching things and different ways of dealing with old problems or issues.

Sagittarius loves travel. Many will be traveling this month, and if you aren’t don’t be surprised if you don’t find yourself looking at future faraway destinations for the New Year.

Sagittarius or the 9th house, also rules education, higher learning and philosophy. All education does not have to be formal and you could find yourself trying to expand your mind or education in some way without going back to school. On the other hand if this is what you desire, now is an opportune time to actually return to school.

The 9th house also rules courts and legal issues, and world view so it is likely we will hear some important judicial rulings during Mars time in Sagittarius. Our world view or philosophies could also take a front seat during this transit of Mars or change in some way.

The downside of Sagittarius is restlessness, and over expansiveness.  While Sagittarius may mean well over committing to things is an issue to watch out for as Sag always like to ‘go big or go home.’ Another trait of Sag is an inability to commit to things or coming across as changeable depending on the day and the emotional weather

November 5th full moon in Taurus

This month’s full moon falls at 13 degrees of Taurus. Taurus is ruled by planet Venus and is the 2nd house of the zodiac which rules money/income. Venus is the ruler of money, love, beauty and values.  The moon itself makes no harsh aspects.

The moon sextiles Jupiter which is positive and uplifting but unfortunately Mars opposition to Uranus during this full moon makes this a volatile, changeable and unpredictable period. Moon-Jupiter however should help with some balance and positivity but it won’t negate the Uranus aspect.

November 6th, Venus enters Scorpio until November 29th.

Venus in Scorpio is considered at its detriment which means its energies are a little more difficult to work with. This does not mean that it is negative, just a different type of energy. This sign will work quite well for the Water signs: Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

Venus in Scorpio can become so intense that at worst some could feel obsessively entangled with someone else they may not even know that well. Since Scorpio is water sign feelings and emotions can seem overpowering or deep and this can be difficult for Fire and Air signs.

And then, there is the sex. Scorpio is known as the sexiest of the twelve signs and for Scorpio sex is at the top of the list. Scorpio is complex and craves intimacy like air but they are not always open in terms of what they should tell or express to their lover. Venus in Scorpio will bring about much more intensity and passion.

November 7th, Uranus re-enters Taurus

Uranus has been in the sign of Gemini since July 7th and returns to Taurus one more time November 7th until April 26, 2026 and this represents its final pass in this sign. When it returns to Gemini it will remain in this sign until May 2033. It takes Uranus 84 years to circle the zodiac so it is unlikely any of us reading this will experience this transit again.

Uranus entered Taurus May of 2018 and much has changed since then. With Uranus’s re-entrance into Taurus I believe we can expect to see more news about resources, natural resources, food and farming since Taurus rules the earth. At the time of this post US farmers are suffering greatly due to the current President’s stance on tariffs and new numbers show inflation rising especially food costs.

When Uranus is at 29 degrees in November and again April 2026 it is considered to be a critical period. The 29th degree is called the anaretic degree and major events often occur. We may be seized with a feeling we only have a short time to correct things.

Uranus rules technology, freedom, upheaval, explosions, aircraft and electricity and future advancements. It also rules all forms of communication.  While Taurus rules the 2nd house of money with Venus as its ruling planet, Gemini rules the 3rd house of communication and its planetary ruler is Mercury the planet of communication.

When Uranus or any of the outer planets change signs we typically see significant events play out in the world around this time.

Also on November 7th, Venus squares Pluto. This can affect love and money. Pluto has an obsessive quality to it that can at times result in bad behavior. Feelings can be very deep and based on compulsions or something else in the subconscious mind. Pluto rules bullies, power and the abuse of power. If this aspects something in the personal chart you could experience some type of revelation and at worst a relationship could end or a financial event doesn’t work out as planned. It can also represent obsessive worry and over thinking.

Mercury retrogrades November 9th-29th

This is our final retrograde of the year and Mercury will turn retrograde at 6 degrees of Sagittarius. It moves back into the sign of Scorpio November 18th and turns direct at 20 degrees of Scorpio on the 29th.

The shadow period is when Mercurial energy begins to change and this began October 20th. The shadow period after it turns direct will last until December 17th.

The worst period of the retrograde is typically the 2 stationary periods when the planet has stopped and is beginning to change directions. This would be November 9-13 and November 29-December 1st. Things are at their most confusing at this point and Mercury is very powerful especially if it aspects something in your personal chart during one if its stations.

Most people know that retrograde Mercury screws up communication, meetings and slows down things in general. Machinery often breaks, people break up and some projects end. This is not the time to buy expensive items, make major decisions or changes, get elective medical procedures or get engaged or married. Do any of these things and do so at your own risk. I have tested this many times and there is always a problem or something has to be changed when it turns direct again.

The purpose of the retrograde is to show us what is and what is not working. To lean this we often have to slow down and reflect. Important information is often uncovered at this time that we need to know to be able to move forward.

This is the worst possible time for holiday shoppers. If you buy gifts during the retrograde expect many of them to be returned or not work out as planned.

Lastly, retrograde Mercury is about the past. We may run into those from the past or that we have known at some point before. The retrograde period is great for catching up with old friends, former clients or anyone from your past. At times old lovers return but a retrograde does not guarantee this!

November 11th Jupiter turns retrograde until March 11, 2026

Every year the planet of gain and expansion turns retrograde for roughly 4 months.

In some instances, money matters can be delayed when Jupiter retrogrades, but it does not totally take away the beneficial effects of Jupiter.

Sometimes however, with Jupiter retrograde if a positive aspect is being made, whatever is being shown may not be delivered to the extent hoped for at this time. If so, Jupiter will return again to this degree later in the year, and more positive results may occur then.

. As Jupiter retrogrades, this is a good time to enlarge your internal dialogue to see where you can expend your personal perspective.

We tend to reflect more when Jupiter retrogrades and build ourselves on an inner level as opposed to an outer material level.

It is likely Jupiter’s retrograde will prompt a collective as well as individual reevaluation of our values, security and what makes us feel safe.

November 12th, Mercury conjuncts Mars for the second time in a month. The first was October 18-19th in Scorpio. This time the transit will occur in the sign of Sagittarius. This aspect is prone toward anger, frustration, arguments and significant news. Some will feel a type of burning anger or frustration.

November 16th, the Sun trines Jupiter. This is an expansive and positive transit which is good for just about anything you want to undertake today.

November 19th /20th New Moon in Scorpio

Scorpio is the sign that rules the 8th house which is associated with other people’s money and change and transformation. Its rulers are Mars and Pluto.

This moon trines both Jupiter and Saturn creating a grand trine in the sky which is a positive formation and can give us stability and grounding. It is possible for good things to come from this.

Mercury opposes Uranus today and this is a transit connected to unexpected news and communication. Unexpected events could occur of a shocking nature with any Uranus transit or we could hear news we weren’t expecting. This is a prime aspect for accidents so use caution especially while driving.

The Sun also begins its opposition to Uranus which is another unpredictable transit. Once again, we can expect major events in the world and people may seem changeable. Plans could suddenly change or you could change your mind about something. Some may want to try new things and approaches while others may experience restlessness or nervous energy. This energy will peak in the early morning hours of November 21st.

November 21st, the Sun makes 3 major aspects; it opposes Uranus in the early morning hours, then trines Neptune by 8:05 AM, EST. This is a pleasant and even intuitive transit.  By 8:36 PM, EST the Sun enters Sagittarius and the Sagittarius season is on!

The Sun in Sagittarius

Sagittarius is a mutable sign which means changeable and things are always changing during this season. Sagittarius loves new and different things, travel and is always growing.

Mutable planets switch their mode of expression frequently. They often have a natural diplomatic bent, but can often be perceived as unreliable and uncommitted due to their constant changeability. The mutable signs are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. When the Sun goes into any of these signs we may change our minds and ideas more frequently than normal as we tap into the mutable energy.

Freedom is a theme with this sign and you may feel a desire to be free to pursue your own ideas and goals.  You may even strongly want to cut ties with any person or situation that seems to hold you back.

Sagittarius is self assured, sometimes to the point of cockiness, being totally honest and at times putting their foot in their mouths. If you don’t keep things in check you could express these qualities to the point of annoying someone. Sagittarius is typically so self assured they often don’t realize their boldness can turn some people off. Sagittarius is known for their fiery cheerfulness but their frequently overblown optimism can lead to inflated ideas and expectations.

The downside of Sag can be restlessness, boredom and a lack of attention to details. The old saying, ‘the devil is in the details,’ can be important with the unbridled optimism of Sagittarius can end up with plans changing or going south, when the details become apparent or are left out.

The upcoming Saturn-Pluto square of 2028-29

There are about 10 major planetary aspects that occur in the skies periodically shaping our collective and individual destinies.  One of the biggest involves Saturn and Pluto. There is no doubt this is a harsh combination. The start of this particular cycle began with a conjunction in January 2020 when Covid became a world event. Of course we experienced the lockdowns and rising death tolls every day.  Pluto and Saturn were  conjunct and in the sign of Capricorn as this began.

This is an aspect that represents a period of intense changes in the world and is associated with geo-political changes although the Spanish Flu at the turn of the century occurred under the same transit. Pluto has now moved to Aquarius and established power structures are generally challenged during this cycle as you will see later in this blog.  Pluto/Aquarius will usher in a period of revolutionary changes around the world. This is a difficult but potentially dynamic period of time and changes that occur may not be easy but are often for the better at the end of the day. Aquarius is the sign of the people opposed to Capricorn which can be associated with extreme wealth and patriarchy.

Saturn represents our structures and Pluto often represents corruption and power. Saturn enters Taurus April of 2028 and Taurus is associated with money, resources, finances, food and farming and personal/collective values since it is ruled by Venus. Pluto in Aquarius is associated with innovation, collective movements and social change.

The first exact hit of this transit between Pluto and Saturn is on June 28, 2028 at 8 degrees. The 2nd is November 15, 2028 at 6 degrees and the final hit is March 29, 2029 at 8 degrees again. If you have fixed planets; Taurus, Leo, Aquarius or Scorpio at these degrees or within 2 degrees this aspect will affect you personally and bring about some significant change depending on what it is aspecting in your chart.

Let’s take a look at the last squares between Saturn and Pluto in the past century

-1907-08-Pisces/Gemini

-1922-Libra/Cancer

-1940-Taurus/Leo

-1955-57-Scorpio/Leo

-1973-74-Cancer/Libra

-1993-94-Aquarius/Scorpio

-2001-Note that Saturn and Pluto were in an opposition

-2009-10-Libra/Capricorn

All of these periods coincided with major societal change. In 1907 the world saw Oklahoma statehood, forced sterilization of people in institutions such as prison and mental hospitals for the purpose of eugenics, the panic of 1907 and transatlantic radio came into being.

1922 saw Mussolini’s rise to power, the USSR was formed and it was the end of the Ottoman Empire. The BBC was formed this year

In 1940 the world was at war during WWll.

1955-57 T the Montgomery bus boycott began following Rosa Park’s arrest and the struggle for Civil rights became more pronounced. The polio vaccine was created and we saw the start of the Vietnam War.

1973-74 led to the oil crisis and global recession, the Watergate Scandal, US president Nixon’s resignation and Roe v. Wade was passed.

1993-94 brought about the first World trade Center bombing and the WACO siege. The Rwandan genocide began.  The Russian Constitutional Crisis occurred under Yeltsin when he dissolved Parliament.  Amazon was founded.

2009-10  saw  ‘Arab Spring’. The Affordable Care Act was signed and Michael Jackson suddenly died.

This represents only a fraction of events that occurred during these years and as you can see that while this is a very intense time, strife with conflict, society typically makes many major advances during these times as well. It is a period of global upheaval and the emergence of new inventions, laws and ways of living.

2028-9 will be a test of how well we have collectively handled the systems that we have been building and creating since 2019-2020 when Saturn was conjunct Pluto. If they aren’t working then we will have to transform them into systems that work and with Pluto in Aquarius (power to the people) the systems will have to work for all of us not just the  1%  Let’s not forget the last time Pluto was in Aquarius we saw not only the American Revolution but the very bloody French revolution as well and the end of the Monarchy in France. The people changed things albeit through a very difficult time. That said, I am not predicting another revolution in the US that goes to the extremes of that era.

Pluto in Aquarius has squared Saturn in Taurus 6 times since the year 1000.

-1058 at 24 degrees July 6th

-1059 at 26 degrees April 24

-1705 at 18 degrees-July 29th and August 30

-1706 at 18 degrees-April 11

-1794 at 26 degrees-December 11th

-1795 at 27 degrees-April 6th

In 1705 the Virginia Black Code was a law passed by Virginia’s House of Burgess that solidified race-based chattel slavery. This law declared non-Christians from non-Christian lands brought to the colony were slaves for live and established the law that made slaves as property. They were stripped of basic rights such including personal movement the right to bear arms or testify in court.

In 1706 French, Spanish, and Native American allies were fighting against the English colonies and their Native American allies.

1794 was a pivotal year for the United States. The Whiskey Rebellion in particular served as a crucial test for the government, proving that it would enforce the laws of Congress and maintain order.

The same year also brought about the end of the Reign of Terror in France, and the execution of Robespierre.

Key events in 1795 included the end of the French Revolution's radical phase. Significant treaties were signed in the U.S.

For the sake of brevity I will leave off the European history of 1058-59 but it included significant shifts in power within the Papacy, the continued Norman expansion in Italy, and a major revolt and consolidation of power within the Seljuk Empire.

While this article is focused on the squares between Saturn and Pluto I didn’t want to leave off one of the worst events in US history which occurred in 2001 when Saturn in Gemini opposed Pluto in Sagittarius leading up to the events of September 11 with the destruction of the World Trade Center when jihadists flew planes into the World Trade Center in NYC. This led to the deaths of 2, 996 in New York and Pa when another plane was aimed toward the Pentagon. Saturn and Pluto were in a 2 degree orb and this event clearly shows us how malefic these two planets can be when in hard aspect with each other.

While Saturn-Pluto transits can be difficult but they also coincide with some of societies greatest leaps forward (after a period of hard work).

2028 will be the beginning of the next election cycle in the US. I won’t go into that at this point but I do believe voters need to be aware of the propensity for abuse, voter suppression, intimidation and power plays that don’t benefit the people. Pluto in Aquarius however will be a great deal of pushback from the people should this occur. It will be a volatile period in the world that will lead to further change by the time we get to this point the world will be far different from what it is today and then change once again.

October 2025; Neptune re-enters Pisces!

This month The Sun transits through Libra and enters Scorpio joining Mars and Mercury. Venus transits through Virgo and Libra and Neptune retrogrades back into the sign Pisces one more time. Pluto turns direct and we have a full moon in Aries and a new moon in Libra. Once again we will see many changes in our lives and the world.

Full moon in Aries October 6th at 14 degrees Aries

A full moon in Aries has to do with new beginnings and new starts. Aries rules the first house of self and self motivation and bravery can be one positive side of this sign.  Aries however, is ruled by Mars, known as the God of War. Aries is a fire sign which can move quickly and act decisively. The moons conjunction to Neptune can cause confusion but it’s sextile to Uranus and Pluto will give it support. Aries is sometimes known as being hot headed and we can probably expect to see a number of people acting like this both personally and globally.  This has the potential to be an upbeat time for many however, and if you are looking to start something new and need encouragement or self motivation, now is the time.

Less than 12 hours before the full moon peaks on Monday evening Mercury enters Scorpio and squares Pluto. This is a negative and argumentative transit that can coincide with obsessive behavior, arguments and accidents. Many will be seeking answers and surface explanations will not suffice.

The full moon does not look good in the US chart as it opposes Saturn and squares the Sun. Saturn rules Congress and large institutions, laws and Civil Service and the Sun rules the leader or the President. When I wrote about the September 21st eclipse I said that it looked quite restrictive. So many things are happening these days it’s hard to keep track but one story that did stand out close to this date was an attempt to suppress freedom of speech by taking comedian Jimmy Kimmel off the air which failed when voters showed their distaste through their pocketbooks.  This full moon looks restrictive in the country as well but with so much happening it will undoubtedly be more than one event.

Venus enters Libra October 13-November 3rd

Venus in Libra is a great placement for the planet of love, beauty and values but it doesn’t start well. October 13th Venus opposes Neptune. This can be confusing or it could relate to miscommunication or at worst lies. This in an unclear and deceptive transit making it negative for finances, love or anything of a Venusian nature. By the 14th this transit will make more positive aspects.

Venus is considered ‘at home’ in Libra as opposed to being ‘at its fall’ in the sign Virgo which we are leaving behind for another year. When Venus or any other planet is considered at home in a sign it means the energy operates easily and smoothly in our lives, unless another harsh aspect is interfering with it.

Venus in Libra seeks balance and harmony, and typically manifests in relationships as compromise, fairness, peace and love! Libra is always searching for balance. This doesn’t mean Libra always has balance, but is always aiming for it.

With Venus is in its ideal placement relationships of all types may seem lighter, happier and people will be more inclined to keep the peace rather than hashing out angry or deep seated issues. We will feel a little more relationship oriented and there will be more focus on finding a special partner if you don’t have one. Perhaps the global community will be a little more interested in peace.

On the Same day, October 13th Pluto turns direct. Pluto has a powerful affect in our personal charts if it is aspecting something for better or worse. That said, Pluto always affects world events so we can expect to see a great deal of news around this time.

Anything that has been festering in the unconsciousness may force its way into the conscious at this time. This is a powerful planetary change and things that have been hidden, both individually and collectively will start to show itself/themselves for what they are. Lawsuits that have been put on hold may move forward as can anything of this nature.

Secrets may suddenly be revealed or come out of the shadows and we may see situations or even people turn obsessive in some way as Pluto has an obsessive quality to it.

Pluto rules the dark and hidden undercurrents, sex, bullies and raw power or those who hold such power. It also rules ultimate change and transformation including death or the death of a situation.

New Moon on October 21st

This month the new moon falls in the peace loving sign of Libra at 28 degrees. Libra’s ruling planet is Venus so this should be one of the more pleasant new moons this year. It does square Jupiter which means something could get blown out of proportion or some may feel overly optimistic but it is generally not a negative aspect.

Libra rules the 7th house of marriage and partnerships. If things have fallen off track with someone this might be a good opportunity to correct things.

October 22nd Neptune re-enters Pisces until January 28th, 2026

This is undoubtedly the most significant transit of the month and one of the most significant of the year. Neptune has been in Aries since March 31st giving us a preview of life in this sign. Pisces rules the 12th house or endings in the zodiac and Aries rules the 1st house or new beginnings so these signs are vastly different. We will have one more opportunity with Neptune in this sign to complete what we need to or get things right.

Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune the planet of creativity, compassion and at times confusion. It rules religion, the collective consciousness, the oceans and things that are hidden from view such as lies and secrets. In a sense it can relate to propaganda as Pisces is a sign that can be suggestible and Neptune rules lies.  This of course does not mean all of those born under this Pisces are overly suggestible. Many Pisces are strong individuals.

Pisces will remain at 29 degrees which is considered the anorectic degree or a degree of significance as it is the end of a cycle just before a new one. Many urgent/important things can happen on this degree and it appears to be a collective turning point between now and the beginning of 2026.

Neptune conjuncts Saturn in Pisces

With Neptune’s re-entrance into Pisces this means Neptune is conjunct Saturn. Neptune is considered ‘at home in Pisces. When a planet is at home it is very powerful and considered by astrology to operate well.  Operating well, does not mean we have to like the results, but whatever it does is very powerful.

The nature of Saturn and Neptune don’t mix well. Saturn represents our structures and Neptune has a dissolving effect. For a time getting a grip on what is real and what is not may be difficult. We can experience a shifting reality and have a hard time knowing where we are and where we stand.

Neptune spends long periods in each sign which makes it a significant and world changing event when it does change signs. When Neptune changes signs the collective consciousness changes as well.

We are leaving the old for the new. It’s up to every one of us to not be complacent and make the future what we want and to work for all not just selected individuals.

Neptune leaves Pisces January 26th for the next 165 years. Saturn leaves Pisces February 14th, 2026. After this, the two planets will meet up once again in the sign of Aries.

The Sun in Scorpio October 22- through November 21st

On the same day Neptune enters Pisces the Sun enters Scorpio. This will be a significant shift as well because as the Sun enters this sign it begins its square to Pluto which peaks on October 24th. This is another difficult transit prone to power struggles, major changes and significant events in the world involving power and control. Mercury’s trine to Jupiter will give us some help and stability but it won’t negate the square.

When the Sun enters Scorpio it begins its yearly trek through the sign that rules money and sex as well as change and transformation of all sorts.

Scorpio is a water sign like Cancer and Pisces with several big differences. Scorpio is considered the most intense sign of the zodiac and can be overly sensitive, brooding, mysterious, emotional and sexual. You have heard of Scorpio’s sting if he or she is unhappy and Scorpio is not afraid to use it. Scorpio can suffer from fits of jealousy at times unless they are highly evolved. Even if they are evolved they can still struggle with the green eyed monster. On the other hand, Scorpio can be a loyal friend and trusted companion if you can ever break down their barriers get to know them well enough.

Words that describe Scorpio are brooding, self-contained, secretive, ambitious, deep, dark, determined, loyal, jealous, resentful, stubborn, controlling and transformative. Some Scorpios are evolved and highly enlightened.

Mercury in Sagittarius October 29-January 1st, 2026.

When Mercury enters Sagittarius it is in the sign ruled by Jupiter the planet of luck and expansion, and Mercury rules travel, communication, young people and our thinking. Our thoughts may turn to travel or family members/extended family and our thinking will be broader and greatly expanded. We may also feel more buoyant, upbeat and impulsive.

Mercury is not totally comfortable in this energy, but this does not mean things will take a negative turn. In Sagittarius Mercury worries about the bigger picture of things but can lose track of smaller but important details.

Mercury will remain in this sign for an extensive period of time due to its retrograde next month.

As Mercury enters this sign it begins its opposition to Uranus. Mercury-Uranus transits are unpredictable and can bring unexpected communication or events. It can be nerve wracking and prone to arguments and accidents so use care while driving. It is likely we will see unexpected events in the world at this time. Mercury’s trine to Neptune could add confusion to the mix.

Expect to be more open to new ideas, people and life in general. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign and mutable signs are subject to change and fire signs are prone to action.

October 31st Happy Halloween. May your holiday not be too scary this year!

The powerful eclipse at 29 degrees of Virgo

The first of the fall eclipses fell at 15 degrees of Pisces. Pisces is the natural ruler of the 12th house of endings and its planetary rulers are Jupiter and Neptune.

At the time of this post we are in the eclipse corridor which basically means we can expect to see a great deal of turmoil in the world and our lives if an eclipse hits your chart in an adverse way.

The world seems on fire at this time with 2 wars and a high profile assassination in the US last week followed by intense vitriol that shows no sign of slowing down especially from the top. We can expect to see shocking events that will likely not end until the latter part of the month and it is and will be a stressful time for many.

Eclipses can be like wildcards and often coincide with unexpected events and major changes in our lives.

Solar eclipse in Virgo September 21st

Eclipses come in pairs so the September 7th lunar eclipse is followed by a solar eclipse at 29 degrees of Virgo on September 21st. Virgo rules the 6th house opposite the 12th so these 2 eclipses set off the 6th/12th house axis in astrology. The 6th house or Virgo eclipse rules health, work and service to others so we need to watch health related matters personally and globally.  It is a known fact that Covid is spreading rapidly again at this time so take care of yourself.

Virgo is ruled by Mercury the planet of communitarian, commerce young people and travel so communication will be important at this time.

What is most significant is this eclipses opposition to Saturn.

The 29th degree and 0 degrees are considered anaretic degrees which means they are associated with karmic situations and intense experiences that can indicate turning points or even endings as discussed already. 29 degrees is also considered a peak before a new cycle begins. Not only is the eclipse at 29 degrees opposing Saturn the Sun at 29 degrees opposing Saturn as well. This gives the eclipse a restrictive feeling and many things can end, even in the world and collective.

Saturn and the Sun are conjunct the fixed star Scheat.  According to Robson, 'Scheat is indicative of extreme misfortune, murder, suicide and downing.'

Mars is in Libra at 29 degrees as well so this is an eclipse that can bring substantial events in our lives and the world.

The Sun-Moon opposing Saturn can be negative, repressive, tiring and critical. Some relationships may end that could include business, romantic or otherwise along with relationships on the world stage. When the anaretic degree is involved whatever ends does not come back. If you have been living and viewing the world though rose colored glasses they will come off at the time of the Virgo eclipse.

This eclipse also opposes Neptune and these transits transits can be connected with sneaky, behind door situations where information only comes out after the fact. It can also deal with confusion, delusion, lies and looking at things in an  unrealistic manner.

Since Mars enters Scorpio 12 hours after the lunar peak this becomes part of the eclipse energy as well. Mars-Pluto transits are associated with cruelty, violence, war, police and military events. This is one of the darker Mars aspects so use care. This will play out in the world in a significant way. At times this can be connected to financial matters and money and we are approaching another government deadline with threats of shutting down the government. It won’t be easy getting a budget passed. We can expect the hot spots to erupt around the globe or new events occur. Often with this aspect new information comes to light.

You will be affected to a greater degree by this eclipse if you have planets in Gemini, Virgo, Pisces or Sagittarius in the late degrees. Also planets Fixed planets at 0-2 degrees will be hit by Mars.  Otherwise we can look for this to be a serious time in the world and personally as well as being tiring and draining. With the Mars-Pluto square anger may be rampant so if you push someone expect pushback in return, perhaps to a greater extent than you think.

This eclipse stands out in a significant way in the chart of Tennessee. I’m sure it stands out in many others but my time looking at them is limited.

Take care.
