October 2025; Neptune re-enters Pisces!

This month The Sun transits through Libra and enters Scorpio joining Mars and Mercury. Venus transits through Virgo and Libra and Neptune retrogrades back into the sign Pisces one more time. Pluto turns direct and we have a full moon in Aries and a new moon in Libra. Once again we will see many changes in our lives and the world.

Full moon in Aries October 6th at 14 degrees Aries

A full moon in Aries has to do with new beginnings and new starts. Aries rules the first house of self and self motivation and bravery can be one positive side of this sign.  Aries however, is ruled by Mars, known as the God of War. Aries is a fire sign which can move quickly and act decisively. The moons conjunction to Neptune can cause confusion but it’s sextile to Uranus and Pluto will give it support. Aries is sometimes known as being hot headed and we can probably expect to see a number of people acting like this both personally and globally.  This has the potential to be an upbeat time for many however, and if you are looking to start something new and need encouragement or self motivation, now is the time.

Less than 12 hours before the full moon peaks on Monday evening Mercury enters Scorpio and squares Pluto. This is a negative and argumentative transit that can coincide with obsessive behavior, arguments and accidents. Many will be seeking answers and surface explanations will not suffice.

The full moon does not look good in the US chart as it opposes Saturn and squares the Sun. Saturn rules Congress and large institutions, laws and Civil Service and the Sun rules the leader or the President. When I wrote about the September 21st eclipse I said that it looked quite restrictive. So many things are happening these days it’s hard to keep track but one story that did stand out close to this date was an attempt to suppress freedom of speech by taking comedian Jimmy Kimmel off the air which failed when voters showed their distaste through their pocketbooks.  This full moon looks restrictive in the country as well but with so much happening it will undoubtedly be more than one event.

Venus enters Libra October 13-November 3rd

Venus in Libra is a great placement for the planet of love, beauty and values but it doesn’t start well. October 13th Venus opposes Neptune. This can be confusing or it could relate to miscommunication or at worst lies. This in an unclear and deceptive transit making it negative for finances, love or anything of a Venusian nature. By the 14th this transit will make more positive aspects.

Venus is considered ‘at home’ in Libra as opposed to being ‘at its fall’ in the sign Virgo which we are leaving behind for another year. When Venus or any other planet is considered at home in a sign it means the energy operates easily and smoothly in our lives, unless another harsh aspect is interfering with it.

Venus in Libra seeks balance and harmony, and typically manifests in relationships as compromise, fairness, peace and love! Libra is always searching for balance. This doesn’t mean Libra always has balance, but is always aiming for it.

With Venus is in its ideal placement relationships of all types may seem lighter, happier and people will be more inclined to keep the peace rather than hashing out angry or deep seated issues. We will feel a little more relationship oriented and there will be more focus on finding a special partner if you don’t have one. Perhaps the global community will be a little more interested in peace.

On the Same day, October 13th Pluto turns direct. Pluto has a powerful affect in our personal charts if it is aspecting something for better or worse. That said, Pluto always affects world events so we can expect to see a great deal of news around this time.

Anything that has been festering in the unconsciousness may force its way into the conscious at this time. This is a powerful planetary change and things that have been hidden, both individually and collectively will start to show itself/themselves for what they are. Lawsuits that have been put on hold may move forward as can anything of this nature.

Secrets may suddenly be revealed or come out of the shadows and we may see situations or even people turn obsessive in some way as Pluto has an obsessive quality to it.

Pluto rules the dark and hidden undercurrents, sex, bullies and raw power or those who hold such power. It also rules ultimate change and transformation including death or the death of a situation.

New Moon on October 21st

This month the new moon falls in the peace loving sign of Libra at 28 degrees. Libra’s ruling planet is Venus so this should be one of the more pleasant new moons this year. It does square Jupiter which means something could get blown out of proportion or some may feel overly optimistic but it is generally not a negative aspect.

Libra rules the 7th house of marriage and partnerships. If things have fallen off track with someone this might be a good opportunity to correct things.

October 22nd Neptune re-enters Pisces until January 28th, 2026

This is undoubtedly the most significant transit of the month and one of the most significant of the year. Neptune has been in Aries since March 31st giving us a preview of life in this sign. Pisces rules the 12th house or endings in the zodiac and Aries rules the 1st house or new beginnings so these signs are vastly different. We will have one more opportunity with Neptune in this sign to complete what we need to or get things right.

Pisces is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune the planet of creativity, compassion and at times confusion. It rules religion, the collective consciousness, the oceans and things that are hidden from view such as lies and secrets. In a sense it can relate to propaganda as Pisces is a sign that can be suggestible and Neptune rules lies.  This of course does not mean all of those born under this Pisces are overly suggestible. Many Pisces are strong individuals.

Pisces will remain at 29 degrees which is considered the anorectic degree or a degree of significance as it is the end of a cycle just before a new one. Many urgent/important things can happen on this degree and it appears to be a collective turning point between now and the beginning of 2026.

Neptune conjuncts Saturn in Pisces

With Neptune’s re-entrance into Pisces this means Neptune is conjunct Saturn. Neptune is considered ‘at home in Pisces. When a planet is at home it is very powerful and considered by astrology to operate well.  Operating well, does not mean we have to like the results, but whatever it does is very powerful.

The nature of Saturn and Neptune don’t mix well. Saturn represents our structures and Neptune has a dissolving effect. For a time getting a grip on what is real and what is not may be difficult. We can experience a shifting reality and have a hard time knowing where we are and where we stand.

Neptune spends long periods in each sign which makes it a significant and world changing event when it does change signs. When Neptune changes signs the collective consciousness changes as well.

We are leaving the old for the new. It’s up to every one of us to not be complacent and make the future what we want and to work for all not just selected individuals.

Neptune leaves Pisces January 26th for the next 165 years. Saturn leaves Pisces February 14th, 2026. After this, the two planets will meet up once again in the sign of Aries.

The Sun in Scorpio October 22- through November 21st

On the same day Neptune enters Pisces the Sun enters Scorpio. This will be a significant shift as well because as the Sun enters this sign it begins its square to Pluto which peaks on October 24th. This is another difficult transit prone to power struggles, major changes and significant events in the world involving power and control. Mercury’s trine to Jupiter will give us some help and stability but it won’t negate the square.

When the Sun enters Scorpio it begins its yearly trek through the sign that rules money and sex as well as change and transformation of all sorts.

Scorpio is a water sign like Cancer and Pisces with several big differences. Scorpio is considered the most intense sign of the zodiac and can be overly sensitive, brooding, mysterious, emotional and sexual. You have heard of Scorpio’s sting if he or she is unhappy and Scorpio is not afraid to use it. Scorpio can suffer from fits of jealousy at times unless they are highly evolved. Even if they are evolved they can still struggle with the green eyed monster. On the other hand, Scorpio can be a loyal friend and trusted companion if you can ever break down their barriers get to know them well enough.

Words that describe Scorpio are brooding, self-contained, secretive, ambitious, deep, dark, determined, loyal, jealous, resentful, stubborn, controlling and transformative. Some Scorpios are evolved and highly enlightened.

Mercury in Sagittarius October 29-January 1st, 2026.

When Mercury enters Sagittarius it is in the sign ruled by Jupiter the planet of luck and expansion, and Mercury rules travel, communication, young people and our thinking. Our thoughts may turn to travel or family members/extended family and our thinking will be broader and greatly expanded. We may also feel more buoyant, upbeat and impulsive.

Mercury is not totally comfortable in this energy, but this does not mean things will take a negative turn. In Sagittarius Mercury worries about the bigger picture of things but can lose track of smaller but important details.

Mercury in this sign is associated with expansion and the spreading of knowledge that can have a great deal of depth. This is an outgoing time and socializing with others will come easier than normal even for those who are shy. This Mercury is about visions of the future and can shine a light on that that which needs to be brought to light.

The challenge with Mercury in this sign is developing discernment in the quest for truth and not falling prey to every idea that crosses your path or blowing an idea totally out of proportion. We must remember that it is only through discernment that we can we narrow down ideas to find the path to real truth, which is the true quest for Sagittarius. Mercury will remain in this sign for an extensive period of time due to its retrograde next month.

As Mercury enters this sign it begins its opposition to Uranus. Mercury-Uranus transits are unpredictable and can bring unexpected communication or events. It can be nerve wracking and prone to arguments and accidents so use care while driving. It is likely we will see unexpected events in the world at this time. Mercury’s trine to Neptune could add confusion to the mix.

Expect to be more open to new ideas, people and life in general. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign and mutable signs are subject to change and fire signs are prone to action.

October 31st Happy Halloween. May your holiday not be too scary this year!

The powerful eclipse at 29 degrees of Virgo

The first of the fall eclipses fell at 15 degrees of Pisces. Pisces is the natural ruler of the 12th house of endings and its planetary rulers are Jupiter and Neptune.

At the time of this post we are in the eclipse corridor which basically means we can expect to see a great deal of turmoil in the world and our lives if an eclipse hits your chart in an adverse way.

The world seems on fire at this time with 2 wars and a high profile assassination in the US last week followed by intense vitriol that shows no sign of slowing down especially from the top. We can expect to see shocking events that will likely not end until the latter part of the month and it is and will be a stressful time for many.

Eclipses can be like wildcards and often coincide with unexpected events and major changes in our lives.

Solar eclipse in Virgo September 21st

Eclipses come in pairs so the September 7th lunar eclipse is followed by a solar eclipse at 29 degrees of Virgo on September 21st. Virgo rules the 6th house opposite the 12th so these 2 eclipses set off the 6th/12th house axis in astrology. The 6th house or Virgo eclipse rules health, work and service to others so we need to watch health related matters personally and globally.  It is a known fact that Covid is spreading rapidly again at this time so take care of yourself.

Virgo is ruled by Mercury the planet of communitarian, commerce young people and travel so communication will be important at this time.

What is most significant is this eclipses opposition to Saturn.

The 29th degree and 0 degrees are considered anaretic degrees which means they are associated with karmic situations and intense experiences that can indicate turning points or even endings as discussed already. 29 degrees is also considered a peak before a new cycle begins. Not only is the eclipse at 29 degrees opposing Saturn the Sun at 29 degrees opposing Saturn as well. This gives the eclipse a restrictive feeling and many things can end, even in the world and collective.

Saturn and the Sun are conjunct the fixed star Scheat.  According to Robson, 'Scheat is indicative of extreme misfortune, murder, suicide and downing.'

Mars is in Libra at 29 degrees as well so this is an eclipse that can bring substantial events in our lives and the world.

The Sun-Moon opposing Saturn can be negative, repressive, tiring and critical. Some relationships may end that could include business, romantic or otherwise along with relationships on the world stage. When the anaretic degree is involved whatever ends does not come back. If you have been living and viewing the world though rose colored glasses they will come off at the time of the Virgo eclipse.

This eclipse also opposes Neptune and these transits transits can be connected with sneaky, behind door situations where information only comes out after the fact. It can also deal with confusion, delusion, lies and looking at things in an  unrealistic manner.

Since Mars enters Scorpio 12 hours after the lunar peak this becomes part of the eclipse energy as well. Mars-Pluto transits are associated with cruelty, violence, war, police and military events. This is one of the darker Mars aspects so use care. This will play out in the world in a significant way. At times this can be connected to financial matters and money and we are approaching another government deadline with threats of shutting down the government. It won’t be easy getting a budget passed. We can expect the hot spots to erupt around the globe or new events occur. Often with this aspect new information comes to light.

You will be affected to a greater degree by this eclipse if you have planets in Gemini, Virgo, Pisces or Sagittarius in the late degrees. Also planets Fixed planets at 0-2 degrees will be hit by Mars.  Otherwise we can look for this to be a serious time in the world and personally as well as being tiring and draining. With the Mars-Pluto square anger may be rampant so if you push someone expect pushback in return, perhaps to a greater extent than you think.

This eclipse stands out in a significant way in the chart of Tennessee. I’m sure it stands out in many others but my time looking at them is limited.

Take care.

The upcoming Saturn-Pluto square of 2028-29

There are about 10 major planetary aspects that occur in the skies periodically shaping our collective and individual destinies.  One of the biggest involves Saturn and Pluto. There is no doubt this is a harsh combination and the start of this particular cycle that begins with a conjunction was in January 2020 when Covid became a world event. Of course we experienced the lockdowns and rising death tolls every day. Both Pluto and Saturn were both conjunct and in the sign of Capricorn as this began.

This is an aspect that represents a period of intense changes in the world and is associated with geo-political changes. Pluto has now moved to Aquarius and established power structures are generally challenged during this cycle as you will see later in this blog.  Aquarius is a period of revolutionary changes around the world. This is a difficult but potentially dynamic period of time and changes that occur may not be easy but are often for the better at the end of the day.

Saturn represents our structures and Pluto often represents corruption and power. Saturn enters Taurus April of 2028 and Taurus is associated with money, resources, finances, food and farming and personal/collective values since it is ruled by Venus. Pluto in Aquarius is associated with innovation, collective movements and social change.

The first exact hit of this transit between Pluto and Saturn is on June 28, 2028 at 8 degrees. The 2nd is November 15, 2028 at 6 degrees and the final hit is March 29, 2029 at 8 degrees again. If you have fixed planets; Taurus, Leo, Aquarius or Scorpio at these degrees or within 2 degrees this aspect will affect you personally and bring about some significant change depending on what it is aspecting in your chart.

Let’s take a look at the last squares between Saturn and Pluto in the past century

-1907-08-Pisces/Gemini

-1922-Libra/Cancer

-1940-Taurus/Leo

-1955-57-Scorpio/Leo

-1973-74-Cancer/Libra

-1993-94-Aquarius/Scorpio

-2001-Note that Saturn and Pluto were in an opposition

-2009-10-Libra/Capricorn

All of these periods coincided with major societal change. In 1907 the world saw Oklahoma statehood, forced sterilization of people in institutions such as prison and mental hospitals for the purpose of eugenics, the panic of 1907 and transatlantic radio.

1922 saw Mussolini’s rise to power, formation of USSR, the end of the Ottoman Empire and formation of the BBC.

In 1940 the world was engulfed in WWll

1955-57 saw the start of the Montgomery bus boycott following Rosa Park’s arrest, the beginning of the space race and the polio vaccine, the ongoing struggle for civil rights and the start of the Vietnam War.

1973-74 led to the oil crisis and global recession, the Watergate Scandal, US president Nixon’s resignation and Roe v. Wade was passed.

1993-94 saw the first World trade Center bombing, the WACO siege, the Rwandan genocide, the Russian Constitutional Crisis and Amazon was founded.

2009-10 included ‘Arab Spring’, signing of the Affordable Care Act and the death of Michael Jackson.

This represents only a fraction of events that occurred during these years and as you can see that while this is a very intense time, strife with conflict, society typically makes many major advances during these times as well. It is a period of global upheaval and the emergence of new inventions, laws and ways of living.

In 2028-9 when we get the square it will be a test of how well we have collectively handled the systems that we have been building and creating since 2019-2020 when Saturn was conjunct Pluto. If they aren’t working then we will have to transform them into systems that work and with Pluto in Aquarius (power to the people) the systems will have to work for all of us not just the patriarchy or the 1% as it leans toward today Let’s not forget the past time Pluto was in Aquarius we saw not only the American Revolution but the very bloody French revolution as well and the end of the Monarchy in France.

Pluto in Aquarius has squared Saturn in Taurus 6 times since the year 1000.

-1058 at 24 degrees July 6th

-1059 at 26 degrees April 24

-1705 at 18 degrees-July 29th and August 30

-1706 at 18 degrees-April 11

-1794 at 26 degrees-December 11th

-1795 at 27 degrees-April 6th

In 1705 the Virginia Black Code was a law passed by Virginia’s House of Burgess that solidified race-based chattel slavery. This declared all non-Christians from non-Christian lands brought to the colony were slaves for live and established slaves as property. They were stripped of basic rights such as personal movement the right to bear arms or testify in court.

In 1706 French, Spanish, and Native American allies were fighting against the English colonies and their Native American allies. Benjamin Franklin was born this year.

1794 was a pivotal year for the United States, demonstrating the young nation's ability to assert its federal authority and maintain stability in the face of internal and external challenges. The Whiskey Rebellion in particular served as a crucial test for the new government, proving that it would enforce the laws of Congress and could maintain order.

Key events of 1794 included the Whiskey Rebellion in the United States, where farmers protested a whiskey tax, and the end of the Reign of Terror in France, marked by the execution of Robespierre.

Key events in 1795 included the end of the French Revolution's radical phase, significant treaties in U.S. history, the final partition of Poland, and the British capture of the Dutch colony at the Cape of Good Hope.

For the sake of brevity I will leave off the European history of 1058-59 but it included significant shifts in power within the Papacy, the continued Norman expansion in Italy, and a major revolt and consolidation of power within the Seljuk Empire.

While this article is focused on the squares beween Saturn and Pluto I didn’t want to leave off one of the worst events in US history which occurred in 2001 when Saturn in Gemini opposed Pluto in Sagittarius leading up to the events of September 11 with the destruction of the WTC when jihadists flew planes into the World Trade Center in NYC leading to the deaths of 2, 996 people in New York and Pa when another plane was aimed toward the Pentagon. Saturn and Pluto were in a 2 degree orb and this event clearly shows us how malefic these two planets can be when in hard aspect with each other.

While Saturn-Pluto transits can be difficult but they also coincide with some of societies greatest leaps forward (after a period of hard work).

2028 will be the beginning of the next election cycle in the US. I won’t go into that at this point but I do believe voters need to be aware of the propensity for abuse, voter suppression, intimidation and power plays that don’t benefit the people. Pluto in Aquarius however will be a great deal of pushback from the people should this occur. It will be a volatile period in the world that will lead to further change by the time we get to this point the world will be far different from what it is today.
