Sun-Mercury square Pluto: obsessions, change power struggles

October 9, the Sun and Mercury are conjunct and square Pluto at 16 degrees of Libra-Capricorn.

Sun-Mercury is considered a willful transit and many will project this energy. Arrogance and pushiness may prevail, and you may be tempted to say exactly what you think, and so could others. Watch travel and communication.
Both planets create a difficult square to Pluto (power, power struggles, bullies, change and transformation) that can be obsessive in nature and arguments may be common. You could have a specific and single thought in your mind and it may be hard to let go of.
Power struggles can occur and many things may be uncovered. People may seem openly aggressive. If you are searching for the answer to a question or situation you may be able to uncover many things on this day.
Situations can take on a personal tone, and change can occur on many levels. Many things come together and reach a peak or end in our lives on days like this one. As both planets are in Libra, relationships may be altered or changed, and they don't have to be romantic.
Conflict with others is likely, and the best things I can say about it is with the nature of Pluto, and a lot of work, some things may be transformed. Focus on what you would like to change.
Sun-Pluto transits have to do with the breakdown of things and rebuilding. Some may feel they are involved in a situation where the change is forced upon them. Give it a day or two and see if you feel the same way before making irrevocable decisions.
There is no doubt this energy will play out in the world on or before these transits are exact. We can expect to see and feel angry energy and power struggles.
Issues may center around money and finances, but Pluto rules also rules nuclear events. The media will be involved in a big way, and situations will likely be uncovered at this time. Some things may break down completely or end.
Those who will be affected to a greater degree will have Cardinal planets-Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn at 15-17 degrees. The energy of this transit will occur before it peaks on October 9, and a few days after.

Volatile and transformative full moon in Aries

The full moon falls in the afternoon of October 5, at 12 degrees of Aries. Aries is ruled by Mars the God of War, making this a powerful Moon that will play out before and after the actual lunar peak. The Moon squares Pluto making this day volatile in the world and in our personal lives. Mars is ego motivated and oriented, and this will represent the overall attitude of many on this day.

Moon-Pluto transits can often reveal situations and motivations, and confrontations with subconscious problems can arise. The Moon rules women. Some may experience extreme emotional conflicts, domination by others or attempts to dominate others. Difficulties with joint finances can arise, or there can be some type of disruption in the home, or with women. Moon-Pluto transits can be obsessive in nature and at times, emotional meltdowns can occur or a desire to force change. Sometimes issues concerning sex can come out into the open.

This is angry energy and my advice is not to act on it.

On the same day, Mars conjuncts Venus, and this transit rules the sexes. At times, this can be difficult and create tension as the sexes vie for control. As Mars and Venus are in Virgo, things can turn critical or nit-picking could occur. This is a waste of time and energy, because the same transit can lead to a meeting of the minds with a deeper understanding of how both parties see things if you take the higher road with this transit.

The is a powerful full moon, and should be used constructively. If so, the result can be transformation on some level. At its worst, this is a volatile day that can lead to endings.

Violence can occur in the world, and this Moon is part of the astrology of the October 1, massacre in Las Vegas. I hope we don't see more violence, but it is possible. Pluto rules bullies, those who force their will on others, nuclear events and situations, and conflict over joint finances, taxes and other joint monies.

Other transits occur after the full moon, that can be related to the full moon energy even though the moon reached its peak.

October 8, Venus squares Saturn. Now is the time to take a realistic approach to relationships, and some situations may end. This is not a day for high expectations. If you can accomplish what you need this should be a positive day. Many people feel lonely, discouraged or unloved on this transit.  There can be a tendency to over react to situations and some things will end.

Also, on the same day, Mercury conjuncts the Sun. This is considered a willful transit and many will project this energy. Arrogance and pushiness may prevail, and you may be tempted to say exactly what you think, and so could others. Watch travel and communication.

Finally, on October 9, Mercury and the Sun square Pluto. This is a difficult square that can be obsessive in nature and arguments may be common. You could have a specific and single thought in your mind and it may be hard to let go of.

Full moon energy begins before and after the fact. This is a high energy, Mars-ego (the God of War) driven moon. The energy can go either way. To some extent it is up to us to control our actions, and think before acting. Act too fast on impulse and you may regret it.

As Pluto is involved, the power to transform is present. My advice to find something you wish to improve or transform, and go to work on it. You may be surprised with the results.

October 2017: Jupiter into Scorpio

During October, Jupiter enters Scorpio and Pluto begins its direct motion along with Saturn. The fast moving planets will enter Libra, then Scorpio.

Jupiter enters Scorpio the morning of October 10. This is a major planetary shift, as the planet of gain and expansion enters the sign ruled by Pluto and Mars. Scorpio is the natural ruler of the 8th house of change and transformation, taxes and debt, other people's money and sex. Jupiter represents optimism, expansion and growth. Jupiter-Scorpio will be deep and not superficial. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, good or bad.

If you are a water sign, or have water sign planets, Jupiter in this sign will trine your planets in Cancer and Pisces, and if you are a Scorpio, or have planets here, Jupiter will conjunct them. All of this is positive and expansive. If you are an Earth sign, Jupiter will sextile your planets, which is also expansive.

Jupiter only enters your own sign once every 12 years. The last time Jupiter was in Scorpio was late October 2005-early December 2006. Jupiter in your sign is typically considered a very positive placement, and you should see expansion in several areas your life, unless other transits are affecting your chart in a negative manner. Even if they are, there should be some planetary help with Jupiter here. Never underestimate the powerful positive and expansive energies Jupiter can bring.

During this cycle of Jupiter we will value strength, willpower, and decisiveness. There can be a stronger desire to solve problems from the start. We could see more interest in crime and those of a criminal nature.

This can be a time for healing and improving and transforming your life in many areas, depending on where Jupiter transits your personal chart.

Jupiter will trine Neptune in Pisces during early December and this may be a powerful psychic and creative bent. In 2018 it will repeat and sextile Pluto in Capricorn.  All of this is positive, and will be far different from Jupiter's opposition to Uranus we are currently experiencing which is far more unpredictable.

Before the year is over, Jupiter will trine the Cancer  Sun of the US. This can only be positive, and perhaps some of the healing can start considering we have experienced numerous weather related disasters and tragedies and the massacre in Las Vegas. We can only hope, and this transit can only help.

Pluto turned stationary direct on September 28, amping up powerful energies and typically bringing large events in our lives and the world, such as the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas. It begins its forward movement October 24, moving to 17 degrees of Capricorn. As Pluto moves forward secrets are reveals and issues come to light for what they are. It is very likely more will be revealed in the Russian investigation into the 2016 election.

In 2018, Pluto will reach 21 degrees, and we are moving toward the powerful Pluto-Saturn conjunction in 2020 that occurs at 22 degrees of Capricorn. This will be a transit that will change the world.

Several days stand out in October. Following are the most significant ones.

October 5 is one such day. The full moon falls on this day at 2:40 PM, EST at 12 degrees of Aries.

Other significant transits occur on the heels of the full moon, and during October.

October 8, Venus squares Saturn. Now is the time to take a realistic approach to relationships, and some situations may end. This is not a day for high expectations. If you can accomplish what you need this should be a positive day. Many people feel lonely, discouraged or unloved on this transit.

Also on October 8, Mercury conjuncts the Sun. This is considered a willful transit and many will project this energy. Arrogance and pushiness may prevail, and you may be tempted to say exactly what you think, and so could others. Watch travel and communication.

October 9, Mercury and the Sun square Pluto. This is a difficult square that can be obsessive in nature and arguments may be common. You could have a specific and single thought in your mind and it may be hard to let go of.
Power struggles can occur and many things may be uncovered. People may seem openly aggressive. If you are searching for the answer to a question or situation you may be able to uncover many things.

As the Sun also squares Pluto, things can take on a personal tone, and change can occur on many levels. Many things come together and reach a peak or end in our lives on days like this one. As both planets are in Libra, relationships may be altered or changed, and they don't have to be romantic.
This is a powerful day when many things can change or end altogether. Conflict with others is likely, and the best things I can say about it is with the nature of Pluto, and a lot of work, some things may be transformed.

Issues may center around money and finances, but Pluto rules nuclear events. The media will be involved in a big way, and situations will likely be uncovered at this time. Some things may break down completely or end.

Those who will be affected to a greater degree will have Cardinal planets-Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn at 15-17 degrees.

October 11, Mars squares Saturn. This is a low energy transit. As Mars rules our energy Saturn blocks it, and it may be difficult to achieve what you are used to and delays and obstacles may rule the day. Mars rules police and we may see events as such play out in the world.

October 14, Venus enters Libra the sign of its rulership. Venus here is powerful and positive, and may make relationships and friendships easier if nothing else. This should be a positive period for Libra or those with a Libra ascendant.

October 15, Mercury opposes Uranus. this transit can create nervous energy and bring sudden or unexpected news. Many people may be sleepless the night before, or agitated.

Watch your communication, and arguments are possible as are accident. Mercury rules young people, travel and communication of all types. This transit is ripe for accidents.

At its best your could get a brilliant idea. At worst, it could make you a nervous wreck. Use caution if you are driving.

October 18, Mercury changes signs and enters Scorpio. As Mercurial energy changes so do out thoughts which will become deeper. Communication will take on a deeper tone and superficial answers will not suffice at this time.

October 19, the New Moon falls at 26 degrees of Libra. This may be a new moon more powerful than others as it opposes Uranus. Libra is about relationships of all types, along with marriage. There is no doubt, with this moon some relationships can end of experience some kind of upset. We may experience sudden and unexpected events in our lives and the world. You may feel a nervous energy or a desire to do something totally out f character. Expect the unexpected.

October 19, the Sun opposes Uranus Sun-Uranus transits are unpredictable and it would be wise to tread with care over the next few days. We can encounter sudden and surprising situations and some situations may end. People will be changeable and stability may be harder to come by this day.

This transit will play out in the world in terms of surprising situations. Uranus rules aircraft, the internet, coups and electricity and natural disasters like earthquakes. It can be connected to weather. This transit can be explosive, and Uranus can be connected to explosions both literally, and in terms of explosive situations.

October 22, Mars enters Libra. Mars is considered at its detriment which means it does not operate smoothly. That said, I personally like Mars in Libra as it is a people pleaser. Some people may act passive- aggressive with Mars in this placement, or feel uncomfortable. As with any planet in Libra, people make more of an effort to compromise with others.

October 23, the Sun enters Scorpio. This is the second sign of fall, and the ruler of the eighth house of taxes, other people's money, change and transformation.

October 27, Venus squares Pluto. This is indicative of obsessions, obsessive thought and can create tension in relationships. Pluto rules what lies beneath the surface, and sex among other things. For some, relationship or other situations may be uncovered or end at this time. Venus rules love, money and social affairs.

Las Vegas shooting. October 1-The astrology

A lone gunman identified as 64 year old Steven Paddock, opened fire and killed at least 58 people and injured 500 more at a country music festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is being called the largest mass shooting in US history.

The first gunshots rang out at 10:08 PM, October 1, giving us a chart for this event.

The ascendant for this chart is 21 degrees of Gemini and Saturn opposes it in the 7th house of open enemies at 22 degrees of Sagittarius.

Venus and Mars opposed Neptune from the 4th to the 10th houses, showing confusion, and this tells is the shooter is likely unbalanced at the time of the shooting. Venus or Mars opposing Neptune can also show monetary losses, and Paddock is reported to have recently had major gambling transactions in Las Vegas.  It can also be connected to confusion in relationships, drugs or other convoluted and unclear circumstances. Mars and Venus is/was beginning its  upcoming square to Saturn which is an angry and frustrating transit.

Jupiter opposing Uranus can also indicate gambling, and can go either way, but typically is connected with unexpected loss or change in one's life. This is erratic energy, and we have experienced this on and off over the past 10 months. Unfortunately,I am not surprised an attack occurred with this energy, and in the past it has been connected with angry and unpredictable events.

Pluto in the 8th house shows death as the end result. Pluto recently turned direct, and is very powerful at this juncture. Pluto rules bullies, deep seated anger and major world events are often connected with its forward motion.

The Moon in the 9th house (Aquarius) is trine Jupiter showing the potential of a foreign connection, or connection to a foreign ideology or a specific ideology or belief. The Moon rules women, and irrespective of current information, or lack of, it appears to me  a foreign woman is involved in this incident.

While ISIS has claimed responsibility and says Paddock converted to Islam before the attack, the FBI says there is no foreign or terrorist connection at the time of this post.

The upcoming October 5, full moon plays a role in this shooting as well. The energy of a full moon begins several weeks before the full moon occurs. This Moon is in the powerful sign of Aries, and squares Pluto which can result in violence, and emotional meltdowns.

A look at Paddock's chart (April 9, 1953-no time available) shows he has experienced many ups and downs over the past year. While at a disadvantage with no time of birth, it appears he has experienced many issues connected to relationships, and a great deal of stress.

Pluto has squared Paddocks' Sun over the past year, and opposed his Uranus at 14 degrees of Cancer. This t-square this is typically connected to change beyond personal control, power struggles, and major life change that can be connected to personal loss (unexpected), and strong viewpoints with a desire to succeed or rule over others in some way. At times Pluto can be connected with violence and a desire to control others.

The most telling transit is Saturn square his Mercury. Saturn-Mercury transits are connected with depression, negative news, a negative mental outlook and worry and anxiety. Venus and Mars in Virgo were opposing his Mercury, 'setting off,' this powerful square in his personal chart. There is no doubt he was depressed at the time of the shooting.

The powerful upcoming Full Moon would fall on Paddock's Sun (personal) and square Uranus showing an unpredictable nature and actions. It would also 'set off' the Pluto square to his Sun and its opposition to his natal Uranus at 14 degrees of Cancer.

Paddock was born with Neptune and Saturn opposing his Sun/Venus conjunction in Aries-Libra. Sun-Saturn shows a difficult connection with the Father, and Sun-Neptune can show a disconnection with the Father, undeveloped ego, and different if not distorted way of viewing the world. Over the past year, Uranus in Aries conjuncted his Sun-Venus and opposed Saturn and Neptune, setting off these two powerful if not defining oppositions in his natal chart. It is likely his action relates in some way to the upheaval these transits caused in his life over the past year.

Paddock likely had psychopathic tendencies based on his chart.

The US chart shows a major catastrophic event at this time as Saturn is square Neptune. This shows grief, and great unhappiness/depression in the population. Venus and Mars are within a few degrees of conjuncting this transit at the time of the massacre. Saturn-Neptune transits are often connected with grief or loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with those dead and injured and the family and friends of those involved in this horrific shooting.
