The first of
two eclipses this month occurs February 10, peaking at 7:33 PM, EST. This
eclipse falls at 22 degrees of Leo and is a lunar eclipse/full moon.
Eclipses are the universe's
signposts, lighting the path into the future. Eclipses come in pairs and a
solar eclipse in Pisces occurs on February 26.
This is the first in a series of
eclipses in Leo-Aquarius since 2009.
Eclipses are like wildcards, and one of
the ways we learn how and what we need to change and evolve. An eclipse can
seem good or bad, depending on what it aspects in your personal chart, and
often an eclipse is dramatic, or reveals important information if it aspects a
significant point in your own chart/life. An eclipse often brings news
pertaining to life's biggest events. The energy of an eclipse can go for months
and in some cases years.
With an eclipse we have both endings
and beginnings. A solar eclipse is more like a new beginning, and it is always
a new moon. A lunar eclipse can being more news of endings and it is associated
with a full moon.
Almost always unexpected information
comes to light and at this time something may be eclipsed completely out of
your life, or into your life.
Eclipses can bring positive or negative events
depending on what it aspects in your personal chart.
We will have another eclipse in Leo, a
total solar eclipse August 21, and this marks the first one since 1979 that can
be seen from
the United States.
Leo is the most dramatic of signs and
rules the 5th house of friendship, love and children, and it is here our
interests will lie.
This eclipse has the potential for a
great time with friends, loved ones, or alternatively, drama. As the ruler of the 5th house, Leo also rules entertainment
and fun! It's time to make a date and get out.
People may dress and appear in dramatic
fashions, and some may make mountains out of mole hills. Such is the nature of
Leo. This energy may push things along, but as the case with any eclipse it can
bring some fiery endings as well. If an ending occurs it may well be that its
time had come and with the aspects this Moon makes, and something better is on
the horizon.
As Leo is represented by the lion, now
is the time to become King or Queen of your own jungle.
This eclipse contains a mystic rectangle. The oppositions in
this configuration (Uranus opposes Jupiter=freedom/change) and (Sun opposite
Moon=emotions) can be stressful, but the harmonious aspects contained can bring
positive change. Astrologer Kelli Fox
describes a mystic rectangle like this, "Sextiles and trines are ‘soft,’
or beneficial, aspects, and oppositions are ‘hard’ ones that can cause
conflict. But since there are four soft aspects and only two hard ones in a
Mystic Rectangle, the overall effect of this configuration is considered
helpful — with just enough of a challenge thrown in by those two oppositions to
keep things interesting." Other astrologers have called a mystic
rectangle, 'an aspect of practical magic.'
Make your own practical
magic and make the most of it!
