Queen Elizabeth II: Saturn returns the third time

Queen Elizabeth II of England,  was born Princess Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on April 21, 1926, in London, to Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon. She became queen on February 6, 1952, and was crowned on June 2, 1953, at age 27, just before her first Saturn return.

Queen Elizabeth is a 6 degree Taurus Sun, with an ascendant in Capricorn (21 degrees) which gives her a serious and dignified persona, ruled by Saturn. She is a practical and down to earth woman who is interested in results. Her moon at 12 degrees Leo is proud and comfortable with attention and the spotlight, and lies next to her 22 degree Neptune, both falling in the 7th house of partners. This shows her partner, and gives her an intuitive edge.

Her Mercury at 4 degrees of Aries gives her a quick wit and a sharp mind. Venus at 13 degrees of Pisces gives her a sensitivity and perhaps psychic leaning to a degree, and Uranus in Pisces gives her compassion, as well.

The Queen is part of the Cancer in Pluto generation who takes family matters very seriously and places family as a top priority. Jupiter conjunct Mars at 22-20 degrees of Aquarius in the first house is known as the 'kingmaker transit,' and gives her independence, a drive for freedom and flexibility, as well as an interest in subjects that could include astrology and other esoteric studies. Some combination of Jupiter-Mars is almost always found in the charts of a monarch. Prince Charles has a Jupiter-Mars combination in Sagittarius.

Many politicians/leaders are born with planets in Aquarius, and this often gives a world type of view.

Saturn is located at the top of Queen Elizabeth's chart, at 24 degrees of Scorpio on the midheaven (25 degrees Scorpio) and on the cusp of the 9th-10th house. Saturn's placement here shows a life dedicated to service, duty and responsibility, along with exclusive power and responsibility. Her career stands out as one of service and discipline, and this has been the cornerstone of her very public life. Saturn in Scorpio knows how to keep a secret and be discreet.

Saturn squares Neptune in her 7th house of marriage, and Jupiter-Mars in her first house, creating a T square between the 9th, 7th and 1st houses. T-squares are difficult configurations that when aspected become a source of trouble or difficulty, but can drive an individual to success and achievement, or in some cases failure, depending on the individual. In the case of the Queen, the difficulties could involve career and foreign affairs, husband and partners, and issues of a personal nature. Much has been published over the years concerning her husband, the Duke, and his exploits outside the marriage especially in his younger days. I cannot confirm or deny these reports, rather just mention they are and have been published for many years.

Throughout his marriage, rumours spread concerning the Duke's alleged extra-marital affairs. The first public media report of the allegation appeared in 1957 in the Baltimore Sun, which claimed REPORT QUEEN, DUKE IN RIFT OVER PARTY GIRL. In a breach with precedent Buckingham Palace commented on the story, denying it in a forthright manner.

There is no doubt Phillip has caused numerous public relations headaches with his seemingly inconsiderate off-the-cuff comments and rumors of possible infidelities, which clearly shows in her chart with Neptune square Saturn in the 7th house. The Queen however,  referred to Prince Philip in a speech on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee in 2012 as her "constant strength and guide." Saturn-Neptune transits can also show a spiritual side to life, and the ability to seek deeper meaning and forgiveness. Abraham Lincoln, Nelson Mandela, and the current Pope all have a form of this transit.

Saturn trines her Uranus at 27 Pisces. According to astrologer Robert Pelletier, this transit shows the individual has learned from their experiences and acquired discipline, earning the freedom they enjoy. This shows a talent to mobilize and exploit resources, and can teach others to utilize their potential, and makes the individual well qualified for executive positions, and gives keen judgment and uncanny insight.

Saturn can have a  bad name, and it is well justified in many instances when we experience hard transits  of the planet known the taskmaster, the planet of discipline and structure, Father time, and the Lord of Karma.

But Saturn is the planet that gives us structure and shows us where our limitations (and strengths) may be found, depending where it is located in our natal chart.

Queen Elizabeth of England will experience her third Saturn return this November, something that only those blessed with long lives will experience.

Saturn returns to its birth placement every 29.9 years, and this is known as a Saturn return, or  transiting Saturn is conjunct Saturn in the natal chart.

As Saturn returns to its birth placement we enter into new levels of awareness. Saturn returns at ages 28-31, 56-60 and 84-90. A fourth return occurs for the very few, age 114-118.

The First Saturn return coincides with a time when we are forced to grow up in our late twenties and the influence of this most important transit continues into the early thirties. A second Saturn return occurs at age 57-60, and if we live long enough a third Saturn return will occur 29.5 years later or at 87-88 years.

In the late 20's the first Saturn return coincides with coming of age and is often difficult-some say the most difficult. There is often a desire to put down roots, settle down and join the adult world. Sometimes a Saturn return period can bring a 'fated relationship,' and some get married. Prince William and Catherine Middleton married on their first Saturn return. Over the past several years, they had a baby and have settled into the working world of Royals and are expecting baby number 2 as this post is written.

For some however, a Saturn return involves choices made before the individual was mature enough to chose the correct path, and this can be a time fraught with discontent, unhappiness and change. Divorces can occur, careers change and love affairs end. Over a period of time, life can become more meaningful if the dreams of youth do not coincide with the reality of getting older. Many people make life changing decisions and get serious about a career or family around this time, and it has a reputation of being a difficult period. Sometimes a crisis can occur that can put you in contact with the decisions that have been made thus far, and previous decision are often found lacking.

Queen Elizabeth's first Saturn return coincided with her coronation, and the new responsibilities she assumed during that period as a new Queen. It must have been difficult, moving from at least some degree of private life to life in a gold fish bowl and a commitment to duty for the rest of her life, especially as she was not raised to be Queen.

Shortly afterward the royal couple, Elizabeth and Phillip Mountbatten, embarked on a 6 month tour of the commonwealth. Just after her ascension Elizabeth issued a declaration that Windsor would continue to be the name of the royal house. The Duke complained, "I am the only man in the country not allowed to give his name to his own children."  As her Saturn squared her natal Mars, there must have been friction over this decision.

Amid preparations for  the coronation, Elizabeth's sister, Margret informed Elizabeth  that she wished to marry  Peter Townsend, a divorcee 16 years Margaret's senior, with two sons from his previous marriage. The Queen asked them to wait for a year; in the words of Martin Charteris, "the Queen was naturally sympathetic towards the Princess, but I think she thought—she hoped—given time, the affair would peter out." Senior politicians were against the match and did not permit remarriage after divorce. If Margaret contracted a civil marriage, she would be expected to renounce her right of succession. Eventually, she decided to abandon her plans with Townsend. Elizabeth had the final say in the matter and was blamed for years as the reason her sister was denied marriage to the man she loved, and those of her generation still remember this, whether this is entirely the truth or not.

Queen Mary, also died in 1953.

By the time of her accession in 1952, her role as head of multiple independent states was already established. As Queen and her husband embarked on their six-month around-the-world tour, she became the first reigning monarch  to visit those nations. During the tour, crowds were immense; three-quarters of the population of Australia were estimated to have seen her. Throughout her reign, the Queen has been the most widely travelled head of state in history. Film of her coronation was flown across the Atlantic so it could be broadcast on American television. She was the first monarch to invite cameras into the palace. "It is inevitable that I should seem distant to you," she said in 1957.

Internet documents mention only a few instances pertaining to Elizabeth's life during this first and second Saturn return, but by all reports she assumed her responsibilities with grace, dignity and success, and became the standard bearer in her country and around the world for responsibility.

Saturn returns a second time in the late fifties-58-59. By this point most adults know who they are and if they don't, this may seem like a last chance period to get it right. While it once meant the passage into old age, today it is more like a passage into the most productive and mature time of life, especially as 50 is the new 30, in terms of social application with healthcare, plastic surgery, diet and exercise.  In a nutshell the second Saturn return is the journey into a time of wisdom in the late fifties. By now, an individual generally knows who they are and what their life course is, but life is not over, and sometimes changes are marked at this time. If the individual is not living life in an authentic way, this transit marks the final chance to 'get it right-now or never.' This is a period when divorces  often occur, along with age 30. At the second Saturn return comes the knowledge age and old age is inevitable, and it is time to start to reap the rewards of a life lived, and prepare for the next cycle f life.

Elizabeth's second Saturn return occurred 1984-85. It was during this period difficulties between her son, Prince Charles, and Princess Dianna were reported to have begun, and the Prince is said to have resumed his affair with then married, Camellia Parker Bowles, and in later years published books state during this time Dianna was 'suicidally unhappy." Prince Harry was born in 1984 to Charles and Dianna.

Also In 1985, Mark Phillips, Princess Anne's husband, fathered a daughter, Felicity, with his mistress, Heather Tonkin. Tonkin was an art teacher in New Zealand. Princess Anne and Mark Phillips divorced in 1992.

Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson in 1986, but in previous few years before his life was very much in the tabloids, especially after dating actress Koo Stark who starred in a  soft porn movie. By all appearances, based on publically available information, Elizabeth's second Saturn return centered around issues connected with family and especially her children.

It was during this period that Princess Diana became a worldwide star and eclipsed Queen Elizabeth and every other member of the royal family in popularity. As the time also coincided with the start of troubles in the Princesses marriage and these events must have been troubling to the Queen as divorce had not yet occurred in the royal family and during this time was basically still unheard of.

Yet, in spite of this and all other situations, the Queen lived her Saturn placement and continued on as the image of duty and responsibility.

If we live long enough Saturn returns to its birth placement a third time. There have been few major astrological studies on the third return of Saturn but the next stop, obviously at this time of life will be our final phase. The third Saturn return does not necessarily bring death and many live on for years, but as Saturn is the keeper of time, we are now entering into very old age, and for the most part what we can do in life has been done, and thoughts often turn toward the spiritual side of life, and all that has been accomplished in the life. Some may enter into a second childhood of sorts at this time.

As the Queen experiences he third Saturn return another planetary configuration occurs that has been related to the British royalty. Astrologer, author Nicholas Champion wrote the transit of Neptune to Saturn (1952-Saturn conjunct Neptune 23 degrees Libra), " coincided with the death of George VI of England and the ascension of Queen Elizabeth II., and the beginning of an important new phase of the evolution of the British monarchy." Nicholas continued, "Curiously enough it has been observed the British Royal family has responded very strongly to this cycle (Saturn-Neptune) for the past century. This is perhaps indicative of its relationship to self-sacrifice, and dedication to higher ideals.

In August 1979 Lord Mountbatten, uncle to Prince Phillip along with  three other people, including a grandson Nicholas, was assassinated by the Provisional Irish republican Army (IRA), who planted a bomb in his fishing boat, thus shaking up the Royal family. At this time Neptune opposed Saturn at 17-15 degrees of Virgo-Sagittarius. Prince Charles was extremely close to his uncle and  viewed the Queen’s second cousin and former Viceroy of India as a second father and mentor. It was this funeral Princess Diana often spoke of and stated her observation of Prince Charles' sadness, stating "You (Charles) looked so sad when you walked up the aisle at Lord Mountbatten's funeral." Diana reported that Charles was all over her, "he leapt on me practically..." and he became quite interested in her after that. Apparently the funeral marked a turning point in the relationship between the two.

Prince Charles Married Diana Spencer in 1981, and by 1982 she had taken the world by a storm, rapidly becoming the most popular royal perhaps of the century.

Saturn was conjunct Neptune in Capricorn in 1989, and that year Princess Anne separated from her husband, a rare occurrence in the royal family. Up until this point divorce had not been permitted. Just a few years later both her brothers, Prince Charles, and Andrew divorced, making 3 out of 4 of the Queens children divorcees and changing precedence among the royals.

In 2006 Saturn opposed Neptune, and Charles entered his first year of marriage to Camilla Parker Bowles, the only British heir to the throne to marry more than once since Henry V (1386-1422).

Saturn will once again be in a square to Neptune 2015-2016, as Elizabeth's third Saturn return completes and no doubt we will see changes in the British Royal family once again.

Author-Astrologer Erin Sullivan summed up the third Saturn return quite well when he wrote, "the third Saturn return is a juncture many of us will not achieve, but for those who do, if their bodies are relatively comfortable and well-managed, then they are an honor to the community and considered almost 'holy' by the people who know them and care for them.

Because of longer lives, this is a time not only when one might have grand children and great grandchildren to relate to, and with that see one's own future. The people I have talked to who are in their nineties have openly, without emotion or sadness, talked about their death and their feelings about it as they come to meet their own ethnicity at the third Saturn return and take a step beyond the family and toward the great unknown.

The first Saturn return at 29 and 1/2 years was emergence from the family matrix and a departure from the family as the primary point of reference.

At the second Saturn return we saw there was a recapitulation of the first one wherein the family again becomes a focal point for the identity, but in the sense of being the elder and this having some gravitas in the family. Often the second Saturn return family issues that were problematic at forty are no longer so at 60.

(After the third return) At age ninety the entire chart is in harmonic agreement that the creative force for life --libido-eros-has reached a creative juncture. And since the trine that the Solar Arcs form to the natal planets is a first/fifth house trine we are looking at a creative return to selfhood.--to childhood--only in the sense there are no projections upon life but meeting life as it arrives."

A rough patch: Choosing your battles carefully- Conflicts, confrontations, struggles and transformation

We hit a bit of a rough patch as Mars conjuncts Pluto, becoming exact Monday, November 10, and in the days before and after this transit will play out in the world and out lives, setting off the Uranus-Pluto square once again.

The full moon in Taurus occurred November 6, at 14 degrees Taurus, and the Scorpio/Taurus axis deals with sex, money, possessions, fairness and equity issues. This is the companion full moon to the October solar eclipse.

Mars/Pluto transits deal with sex, anger, violence, conflict and agitation, and issues over joint finances. You will experience this to a greater degree if it is aspecting your personal natal chart. If this is not aspecting your personal chart you will still be subject to the energy but it will not affect you as intensely.

If this transit is aspecting your personal planets you can expect to experience the above, and the only question is to what degree. My advice is to choose your battles carefully. Mars-Pluto transits at their worse are indicative of physical violence, anger, jealousy and rage. I would avoid bad areas, and people you know who will aggravate and agitate. Now is not the time to press an issue unless you are prepared for a fight.

This transit can amp up your determination, ambition, and relates to the elimination of old conditions and the creation of new ones.

At its best, this transit may transform something to a different situation, place or level. For example, and issue may finally be resolved one way or another and this can include relationships, business, and they way you approach things.

On the other hand with Pluto involved simmering issues can emerge, and Pluto transits have a feeling of events beyond your ability to control, as well as obsessiveness.

Over the next few days this transit will set off the Uranus-Pluto square and events in the world will be large.  Pluto rules bullies and those who would force their will on others and this includes politicians, governments, and rouge groups such as ISIS.

As Mars is a cardinal sign, effects will occur quickly and expect to see violence, especially in the hop spots around the globe and this transit opposes the US Sun the US natal chart. This is a dangerous time and as Pluto is also opposing the US Sun, and we will see challenges coming from others both from within our borders and outside US borders.

November 8, Mercury re-enters Scorpio hitting the October eclipse point and we will see issues occur that concern the October solar eclipse in Scorpio, and for the next three weeks communication will take on a more intense and determined quality.

November 9, Venus squares Jupiter and while this is a basically positive transit that might soften the Mars-Pluto transit, situations may become over exaggerated, and be careful of  making promises you can't keep, or promises made to you.

November 12, Venus conjuncts Saturn and Venus rules money and love. This is a negative transit for the most part s Saturn and Venus do not work well together, especially for interpersonal relationships. Some relationships may come to an end, or you may feel that you cannot relate to others, or feel isolated and alone.

If you have a natal planet at 23-26 degrees of a fixed sign-Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius or Taurus, this transit will affect you personally. Some of those affected could be born the first half of 1956 (Saturn in Scorpio) or 1984, or those with Neptune in Scorpio 1967-1969.

Again we will see this transit play out in the world as negative news that could relate to women.

November 12, Mars also squares Uranus and this is an explosive transit indicative of sudden events, changes, arguments and disagreements in your personal life that come out of the blue.

As this sets off the Uranus-Pluto square events in the world will be large and will include police or military action, explosive events and explosions, and Uranus rules weather, electricity and aircraft/spacecraft. This transit aspects the US chart, Russia-Putin, Israel and many others.

By month's end the Uranus-Pluto square becomes exact and events over these days will set it off. We will see and hear of many things that began in April of this year, and we are in a period of rapid change/upheaval in our personal lives and in the world, especially if Uranus and Pluto aspect your own chart.

 

 

 

 

November 2014: The return of the Uranus-Pluto square

November is another pivotal month of 2014 as Uranus and Pluto connect again in an exact square November 27, at 12 degrees Libra/Capricorn through December 27, 2014. This is the 6th time this powerful square has come together since 2012, the results of which are changing our world as we know it, as well as our personal lives. This square will be in an exact orb again late February-March 2015, and within 1 degree of being exact January of 2016 before finally separating for good. The times we are in are critical,  much like the mid 1930's before WWII, and the 1960's. Those periods of time changed our world permanently and so will this time we are in. It's not difficult to see, but we may not be cognizant of just how much the world has changed until this transit moves on in 2016.

Thus far, the Uranus-Pluto square has resulted in changes in the way the US government spies on US citizens, the knowledge brought to us in part by Edward Snowden, and more may be revealed this month. Governments across the world have changed and there is more turmoil in the Middle East than we have seen in decades. Many more changes will occur and as the square comes together turmoil will escalate once again, resulting in further changes in the world, politics, and our personal lives if you have a cardinal planet (Aries, Libra, Cancer or Capricorn) at 10-14 degrees. All change is not bad, and at times this can bring positive results if change is needed, depending on what else is occurring in your own natal chart at the time. But with Uranus involved there is generally an unexpected element to the change and chaos sometimes ensures for a time.

The Cardinal cross came together in April of this year. A cardinal cross involves four planets, and Jupiter was part of the mix, as well as Mars. So many things happened in April it was hard to keep up with the news, but perhaps the biggest event was the emergence of the group known as ISIS or ISIL. No doubt there will be more news of this terrorist organization and the fight to destroy them. Many other situations occurred including Russia's intervention in the Ukraine, the missing Malaysian plane, and this period will not be so different as the last in terms of major events in the world.

As Mars is in Capricorn, also a Cardinal planet, the 'God of War,' will set off the Uranus-Pluto square forming a T-square between the three planets, similar to the Grand Cross in April with Mars. A T-square involves three planets while a grand cross involves 4. Many events that began in April or we were concerned with at that time, will re-appear and we will see the consequences November-January 2015. With Mars involved, the square becomes a T-square (3 planets) the most critical period of the square will be between the 8th and 14th of this month, but this is not the only critical time.

The Uranus-Pluto square falls on the chart of the US, Putin, Israel, ISIS and many others, and events will occur that will affect us all as a collective. As Saturn (and fast moving planets in Scorpio) oppose the fixed star Algoal I believe the crisis with ISIS will escalate and become more brutal this month. As the last solar eclipse was in Scorpio conjunct Venus, situations involving women around the world will continue to emerge, and they are brutal toward women. An example of this is the announcement the 200 missing Nigerian schoolgirls have been married off to jihad fighters.

On November 28, Saturn opposes the Sun of the NYSE. This is a negative  indicator for stocks all the way around. Jupiter is square Saturn, and Saturn enters Sagittarius by late December and while its square to Neptune is not exact, it is still within orb, re-occurring in an exact square by December 2015. Astrologer Mitch Lewis wrote, "This is historically a bearish aspect in the stock markets. The crash of 1987 occurred while restrictive Saturn transited this expansive Jupiter-ruled sign.

Saturn was also conjunct Uranus in 1987. These two planets were in opposition in 1966-67 which began a 16 year bear market. They were in opposition when the crash of 2008-10 occurred. Almost all downturns in the markets are a result of Saturn in conflict with Jupiter or an outer planet, Jupiter in Capricorn, or Saturn in Sagittarius.

 

Saturn will first square Neptune in November 2015. These are all signs of a major reversal in the markets. Whether it’s the fear of ISIS, Ebola, or some other unknown entity that will create the events, the markets are on their way down! In July 2005 Saturn left Cancer and entered Leo. That month was the very top of the housing market. It started to show serious weakness soon after. In 2006 Saturn began its opposition to Neptune for a year. This led to the crash and meltdown of that market. Saturn also rules banking, and while that opposition occurred the banks throughout the world were readying their own meltdown as a result of the sub-prime mortgage fiasco. Now we are seeing the square between these two, and the lessons of 2005-7 will once again be brought up. If we’ve learned from that period and made the necessary adjustments, there shouldn’t be a major problem in housing or banking. If we haven’t there will be hell to pay. The truth is, we’re somewhere in the middle. There have been some changes made to ensure we don’t have the same sort of collapse. But not all nations are following that lead. China has extended itself way beyond its banking industry’s potential. I believe that is where we will see the unsettling occur.

 

Already McDonald’s and Coca Cola have severely lowered their earnings and long-term expectations. There are a number of reasons for this including competition from other firms, but IBM has also reported a serious drop in income. So are we facing another crash? I don’t think so.

 

Stock market crashes are rare. We need a perfect storm to create one. This looks more like an extended 2 year bear market (with the accustomed bear-market rallies). The markets will probably go sideways and down, not crashing to the basement. America’s economy has been improving and shows strong signs of increased manufacturing, exporting, and job creation (albeit many are menial in nature). But globalization has created an interlocking system where weakness in one part of the world may translate into a problem throughout."

 

Many other planetary events occur in November, and the Scorpio season is upon us as this post is written. Saturn has been in Scorpio now since October 2012, and is 75 per cent through its cycle in this sign. December 24, 2014 Saturn enters Sagittarius for the first time, retrograding back into Scorpio June through September for one final pass in the sign ruling the eighth house of other people's money, investments and mortgages,  taxes, debt, death, sex and transformations of all types, and sometimes transformation seems forced.

Many Scorpios have had a hard time with Saturn in their own sign and it has been a two year period of many challenges and obstacles for many, and soon this period will change as Saturn moves into Sagittarius As we near the end of the Saturn in Scorpio cycle, the fast moving planets have or will enter this sign, and at the time of this post the Sun is in Scorpio, and Mercury enters Scorpio for the second time November 8.

As we go through this month the focus will be eighth house matters: money, taxes, investments and mortgages, debt, sex, death, change and transformation. The eighth house has to do with our partners money and the way we feel in a relationship. Now is the time to pay off or restructure debt and transform our lives relating to these matters. Saturn gives us an opportunity to grow and change as it transits each sign. This energy will amp up in November and it is time to deal with these issues. The lessons of Saturn in Scorpio are almost over. Of course we will have one final swing of Saturn-Scorpio June-September of 2015, before Saturn leaves this sign for the next 30 years.

November 1, Venus sextiles Pluto and Mars sextiles Neptune-Both 'gender' planets aspect the outer planets and this is positive for relationships, compassion for others, relationships may seem more fated.

November 3, Sun sextiles Pluto-A good day for getting to the bottom of any situation with more ease.

November 6, a full moon occurs at 14 degrees of Taurus-the peak of this moon is at 5:23 P.M., EST. Taurus is the ruler of the second house of earned income and possessions. this is the companion full moon to the October Scorpio eclipse falling on the 8th/2nd house axis which concerns money and possessions. Issues that you dealt with during the eclipse may re-occur in some form and a full moon is often the completion of events that began on the full moon.

November 8, Mercury re-enters Scorpio-Mercury leaves the shadow period of the retrograde on November 10. Mercurial energy changes again becoming more intense, secretive and greater depth, which at times can seem compulsive. As this transit hits the eclipse point of the October solar eclipse, we will see eclipse related events play out and this is a significant day.

November 9, Venus squares Jupiter-when the two benefic planets create a square there is little struggle. This is a pleasure seeking transit for the most part, indicative of a lack of discipline and over-doing.

November 10, Mars conjuncts Pluto setting off the Uranus-Pluto square over the next week or so. We will see big events in the world and our lives if this is aspecting your personal chart. On the world stage Mars rules police and military action and power struggles and  violence is common. You may become involved in a dispute that has to do with ego, manipulation and worst case scenario, violence. This is a day to pick your battles carefully.

November 12, Venus conjuncts Saturn-this is a transit of seriousness and poor for relationships and love. There is an air of austerity with this transit and some relationships will end. Important decisions could be made, and this transit might relate to something or someone from the past.

Also on this day, Mars squares Uranus setting off the Uranus-Pluto square again. Mars-Uranus events are sudden, unexpected and explosive. This is a heavy day in the world and our lives if these transits aspect your chart.

November 13, the Sun squares Jupiter-this is a transit that can create a desire for growth, and a square to Jupiter is often beneficial. Situations can be overdone, or blown out of proportion. Don't promise more than you can deliver.

November 16, Neptune turns direct-Neptune in Pisces relates to disease, among other things, and as this planet turns direct we may be able to get a better grip on the problem of Ebola. Creativity and spiritual pursuits can come to the forefront, and if you are under a heavy Neptune transit in your own personal chart, things will start to become more clear.

Also on November 16, Venus enters Sagittarius. Great for Fire and Air signs, not as good for Water and Earth. More flirtations, fewer commitments.

November 18, the Sun conjuncts Saturn- difficult, depressing and basically a negative transit. Some things may end, expect delays and to become aware of what  your restrictions are.

November 20, Venus squares Neptune-at times this can be a romantic transit, but Neptune is the planet of illusion, delusion and confusion. It will work well if you don't take anything too seriously, and any commitment made on this may or may not pan out as expected. At its worst, someone could lie to you. Romantic issues can be foggy even if they seem to be going great, it may not be as it appears. Money matters could crop up and make no financial decisions on this day.

November 22, the Sun enters Sagittarius- This sign is all about freedom and expansiveness for the next 29 days. Venus is in this sign, and Mercury enters it in 5 days and the Sagittarius season is upon us, so make the most of this fun loving time.

Also on this day the full moon occurs at 0 Sagittarius at 7:32 A.M., EST. Sagittarius is the natural ruler of the 9th house of travel, education, legal/medical issues and outlook on life. Ruled by Jupiter, it is the most expansive of signs, and now is the time to look at where you might expand your thinking and ideas. November 26, Venus trines Uranus-positive for love, money and finance. The Sun squares Neptune-great for psychics, readings, creativity, but things could become tiring, foggy and confusing.

Dissolving realities/changing times again

Saturn is currently just past the middle of its tour through the sign Scorpio. Saturn changes signs about every two and a half years, and as it transits through our personal charts it generally represents the areas we will see challenges in. However challenging, it can also represent some of our most concrete realized goals as well. Saturn gives us structures and boundaries in our lives.

Saturn will move through the second half of Scorpio November-December 2014, and on December 23, 2014 it will enter Sagittarius  at 11: 33 A.M. for the first time in 30 years, having last transited this sign 1985-87. It will remain in Sagittarius until June 16, 2015 when it transits back into Scorpio for a final three months, entering Sagittarius again September 18, 2015 until December 20, 2017.

Sagittarius is the sign ruling the ninth house of education, foreign affairs and world view. Many views  and viewpoints will change with this Saturn placement both on an individual level and the collective level.

Sagittarius' planetary ruler is Jupiter, and Jupiter concerns money, ideals,  education, the medical field, religion, churches, young men, governments and laws. Ideas will change and evolve in our own lives during this cycle of Saturn,  and on the collective scale or in the world. We can see changes in education, potential scandals in churches and political scandals and issues over laws and boundaries.

Religion and government views, laws, education and our world views  will come to the forefront, and this transit will represent a conflict between extremist religious viewpoints, and those of others. This conflict will not be limited to ISIL and the sharia  law they push, but can include extremely conservative Christian groups and others and we will see many changes and conflicts.

As Saturn moves into Sagittarius it will begin its square to Neptune  at 5 degrees of Pisces. In February 2015, Saturn will move to 4 degrees by the second week of February, coming within a close orb with Neptune, representing the first square to the planet of dreams, illusions and delusions at 4-7 degrees of Pisces/Sagittarius.

 By late November 2015 Saturn will be in an exact square to Neptune at 7 degrees of Sagittarius-Pisces and circumstances in the world and our lives will start to change once again.

While Saturn rules our structure, Neptune transits tend to dissolve situations over time. Structures, situations and even relationships  may begin to evolve and dissolve into new situations in some cases if this is aspecting your chart. As Neptune dissolves that which we consider our structure some things may come to an end, especially if this aspects a personal planet in your chart.

During this period we could experience an uncomfortable period time where situations, ideas or even people dissolve from our lives and the new has not yet emerged. The old will fade away to make room for the new but it will not happen overnight.

Saturn/ Neptune squares can relate to confusion and lack of clarity, or out and out lies, told directly by others, or to ourselves.

On the other hand this transit may help to give concrete realization to long held dreams and during this period they may take form after a period of time and through a great deal of hard work  and effort.(Saturn)

Some of those most affected by this transit will be those born February 24-28, May 27-31, August 29-September 2, and November 28-December 2. Others affected will be born in the Neptune in Sagittarius  generation,  1973-74, or anyone with a mutable personal planet between 5-9 degrees.

On the collective many ideas will dissolve or change forms. Politics, governments, and laws will all be affected and we may see changes in the legal status of marijuana, water shortages and problems with water and the ocean, scandals in the church, and the spread of disease among other things.

In Mundane Astrology, Nicholas Champion wrote about Saturn square Neptune: " Green saw this snyod as benefitting democracy, political changes and reforms. Barbault considers this to be the paramount cycle which governs the development of socialism-communism. He points out in 1846 the (transit) was followed by the publication of the Communist Manifesto, and the main phases of this cycle trace the development and establishment of the main European Socialist parties around 1882 and then the Russian Revolution in 1917 immediately following the next one in 1952 saw the death of Stalin and the beginning of expansion of Soviet Communist influence out into Africa and the third world." He continues, "It coincided with formal conclusion of peace treaties following WW11, the explosion of the first hydrogen bomb, and the death of Joseph Stalin. It also coincided with the death of George VI of England and the ascension of Queen Elizabeth II., and the beginning of an important new phase of the evolution of the British monarchy."

Saturn was last in the sign of Sagittarius November of 1985-November 1988 but did not square Neptune. Saturn in Sagittarius will work best for Leo, Aquarius, Aries, Libra, and be more challenging for Sagittarius, Pisces, Virgo, and Gemini or anyone with mutable personal planets. (Sagittarius, Virgo, Pisces, and Gemini)

In June 2016 Saturn will square Neptune and oppose Jupiter, creating a T- square in the mutable planets and this is a major planetary configuration that will alter many things in the world and our lives. A mutable square's action is variable, less fixed, and more movable. Mutable energy is also thought to be scattered, unfocused and easily distracted.

Neptune in Pisces shows the masses and groups of people around the world will not fare well. Saturn in Sagittarius shows changes in governments, laws and viewpoints, and Jupiter in Virgo shows auditors (when Saturn was in Virgo banks were the issue-08) and Jupiter square Saturn is not positive for financial growth, lack of cohesion in politics, and the spread of disease.

Astrologer Mitch Lewis believes a cure for Ebola will be found, and wrote "So will Ebola be the end of the world? In a word – NO! Will it be cured? Of course. When Saturn squares Neptune. Saturn’s restrictiveness will control the outbreak and lead to a cure. There will be a vaccine developed that will be worth billions of dollars. Also the virus may have more or less run its course by the beginning of 2016. There will still be breakouts, but by then we will be better able to deal with the problem. Unless Ebola mutates very quickly and becomes airborne before a vaccine can be produced and distributed it will not be The Stand. And that is very unlikely to happen. But it could still be very bad before it goes away, at least psychologically.

Viruses run their course. We did not cure the influenza pandemic of 1918-19. It just burned itself out. Ebola will do the same, eventually. You can not quarantine the whole world. You can’t stop Ebola or any other contagion in a global economy. You have to cure it. The crime here is that we’ve known of its potential for decades. But nobody spent the money to find a cure because we work in a capitalist system, and why would anyone spend billions of dollars to cure a disease that may or may not become a pandemic. What kind of a philosophy is that? What could be more valuable than protecting ourselves? "

Solar eclipse in Scorpio; Deep awakenings

October's solar eclipse occurs at 0 Scorpio October 23, 2014 at 5:57 P.M., EST.  Scorpio is the ruler of the eighth house of transformation of all types including death, other people's money, sex, taxes and transformative rebirths in people and situations.

 Situations that involve money and joint finances, investments, insurance and taxes may come to light during this time. The eighth house is indicative of how we feel in a relationship, money and assets connected with our partner, and Venus relates to money and younger females which may become important over this eclipse.

Things and situations are often revealed on eclipses and while lunar eclipses are often associated with endings, solar eclipses can be associated with new beginnings as it is always a new moon. New beginnings of all types can occur in partnerships, joint financial adventures, psychology and the study of subconscious forces, wealth creation and investigations of all types.

To get an idea how this eclipse may affect you, eclipses repeat themselves about every 18 years and the last time we had an eclipse at this degree was October 24, 1995. If that time period was significant to you, this one may be as well.

Venus is conjunct the Moon having entered the same sign just an hour earlier, but Venus is at its debility in Scorpio and the Moon is at its fall in this sign. Planets in debility and at their fall are often found to be weaker or 'needy,' and often play out as such in terms of feelings and actions. Venus in Scorpio can become secretive and intense in terms of relationships, and works best for water signs.

Venus conjunct the moon however, could provide softer energy than the last lunar eclipse, especially if this is in positive aspect in your own natal chart, and Venus conjunct the moon, trine Neptune is generally creative and at times romantic energy. Situations may also be misread, and as Mercury is retrograde, let time determine if your relationship will last if you meet someone new during this time and don't jump to conclusions.

This eclipse is indicative of social activity, romance, and personal interaction with others.

Mercury is still retrograde at 17 degrees of Libra, and about to enter its direct station period on October 25. Events connected to an eclipse can be delayed with a retrograde Mercury by days or weeks.

Mercury opposes Uranus at 17/13 degrees of Libra/Aries showing the possibility of sudden and unexpected news/accidents and communication, but Mercury sextiles Jupiter at 19 degrees of Leo showing a potential for positive communication and an upbeat, positive mood or communication may be unexpected and take a turn for the better. This transit will affect Libra, Aries, Cancer and Capricorn, especially if you have cardinal planets at 15-18 degrees. (in these signs). Lunar eclipse in Aries: Unexpected events, changes, values and obsessions

The eclipse season is upon us and the first eclipse of October will be a lunar eclipse at 15 degrees of Aries, October 8 at 6:51 A.M., EST. Until then, the energy of this eclipse will increase before it actually occurs and events related to this eclipse will begin to happen in our lives and in the world.

This will be a powerhouse eclipse as it sets off the Uranus-Pluto square, and the moon conjuncts Uranus. Major events will occur in the world and in our personal lives. The last time we had an eclipse at this degree was October 8, 1995. If that period was significant, this one may be as well.

This eclipse will affect Libra, Aries, Cancer and Capricorn to the greatest degree or those who have planets in these signs from 12-17 degrees. As the eclipse sets off the Uranus-Pluto square events will be large in our personal lives if you have planets in your natal chart being aspected as mentioned above, and changes and events will be big in the world. Events and situations that occurred in April may come to the forefront again.

A lunar eclipse can reveal things previously unknown and bring situations to a climax or critical point. These situations are often related to our personal environment, home, security and those we are closely connect with.

Eclipses are most powerful if they aspect a personal planet in your own chart, and those affecting the cardinal houses-first, fourth, seventh and tenth are the most powerful of all, and Aries is a cardinal sign and the ruler of the first house of self.

Aries or the first house rules us-we, ourselves and our  personal desires and as it opposes the seventh house so it is also about them. As this eclipse (moon) conjuncts Uranus we may expect the unexpected in our personal lives and in the world. Moon-Pluto transits deal with obsessive feelings and desires, deep seated issues and Pluto rules the dark, hidden realm that exists in our subconscious mind. We could have a desire to create great change in our lives at this time. Pluto also rules oil, bullies, nuclear materials, the dark, and dark side of life and those who push their agenda on others. This brings relationship themes and sex to the forefront, along with money/finances, and issues connected with joint finances.

Venus-Pluto transits are indicative of jealousy, obsessive feelings and the potential for selfishness, and lack of consideration for the emotional needs and feelings of others, or you may feel that you are being treated with less consideration than desirable. There can be attempts to remake or reform others, and it is important to remember that change begins within, and the only person it is actually possible to change is oneself. In its most extreme cases Venus-Pluto transits deal with domestic abuse or rape and it is likely we will hear news of such in the world.

The second aspect Venus makes is its opposition to Uranus becoming exact on October 11. Venus-Uranus transits relate to breakups, changes in relationships and brings an unexpected element that is hard to predict and misguided actions are often the norm without really thinking things through. Some relationships will end at this time and others will go through roadblocks. If you meet someone on this transit don't expect it to last as Uranus can be a flash in the pan.

Mercury is retrograde at 1 degree of Scorpio and this can delay events connected with this eclipse. I have seen events delayed by a few days or a few weeks when an eclipse falls on a retrograde Mercury. As Mercury is in its retrograde station events/situations will take on more intensity and depth of feeling with this eclipse and surface feelings will not suffice.

As this post is written massive protests are occurring in Hong Kong over democracy, and a volcano erupted in Japan and this is indicative of the eclipse energy. The Aries eclipse falls on Pluto in Hong Kong's natal 12th house showing what world be considered 'issues,' and 'subversive activities,' which could include protesters challenging Beijing's control, and I expect to see further events around this eclipse. When the moon (eclipse) falls next to Uranus expect to see events related to freedom (from oppression) occur around the world especially its hot spots. Uranus is connected with revolts, revolutions and in some cases war. Who remembers Tiananmen square? Let's hope this is not a repeat scenario in any way.

Looking at the eclipse chart, set for Washington, D.C., the moon conjuncts Uranus in the seventh house of courts and open enemies, or those we know to be our enemy . Moon-Uranus can involve women who may be prominent in the news during this time, and there is an element of 'expect the unexpected' with Uranus. As the Moon rules the common people, the emotional state of the average person may be excitable, changeable or even panicked during this period.

Uranus lies in the 6th house of public health opposing the Sun/Venus in the 12th house of things and situations that are secret and hidden. We may hear more news that relates to national health, and situations will spread or increase quickly. The President acts in secret and some things will remain hidden during this time.

Neptune lies in the fifth house of children/young people, showing a focus here on children, children's places or activities. The fifth house also rules entertainment and creativity and places such as movie theatres. Neptune is linked to plagues, infectious diseases and the ocean.

With so much Uranus involved we may see unusual weather patterns and there is a greater chance of earthquakes, volcanoes and other Earth/weather related scenarios.

The two oppositions between Venus and the Sun and Uranus and the moon show the great polarity between the values we espouse and those of other people considered enemies. For example America promotes democracy and China/ISIS/Iran (and others) espouse a different type of government or life. We will see clashes pertaining to values and ways of life.

With Mars trine Jupiter there will be support for the military and we are entering into a period that can being new inventions and new ideas around this time.

My advice is to always go with the flow of the energy. If you feel compelled to make a change in your life for the better, now is the time to walk away from toxic situations and energies of all types. You can use this energy to propel yourself in a new and positive direction, but as Mercury is retrograde make sure you are certain of what you really want. If a situation abruptly ends in your life, know it was supposed to and something better is waiting around the corner. As long as there is life there is hope for good.

October 2014: The eclipse season, Mercury retrogrades, freedom, relationships and values

Mercury retrogrades for the final time in 2014 October 4-25. It begins its stationary retrograde October 4-6 at 2 degrees of Scorpio (October 4 at 1:02 P.M., EST), the most intense of signs, and matters you thought were resolved the previous week may turn out to be unsolved, changed and plans of all sort may start to shift. Secrets may be revealed, situations break down, along with equipment, appliances cars and computers and it may become harder to think and focus.

Scorpio is the natural ruler of the 8th house of death, money, taxes, joint finances, sex, change and transformation and it rules the way you feel in a relationship which for some could bring obsessive feelings during this time.

On October 10, Mercury retrogrades back into the sign of Libra where it spent most of September and the focus will shift toward relationships of all types. October 10, Mercury retrogrades back into the sign Libra.

October 11, Venus opposes Uranus and this is the last transit that will set off the Uranus-Pluto square at this time. Venus-Uranus transits deal with love, values and money and images. We will see a polarity in values this week in our personal lives and in the world. The values of the Western world as opposed to the values of those who don't value human life come to mind. We could see big market swings on or around this day and some relationships and other situations will end. If you meet someone new it may or may not work out, but don't place high expectations on it, no matter how well you seem to get along. The theme will be unexpected events in our lives and in the world along with the freedom/separation or changes in status for some. We may hear news concerning young women.

October 23, A solar eclipse/New moon occurs at 0 degrees of Scorpio at 5:57 P.M., EST.

Scorpio is the natural ruler of the eighth house of sex, transformation, other people's money and death. It is the most intense of all signs and Scorpio themes involve money, sex and how a relationships makes you feel. This eclipse conjuncts the Sun, which enters Scorpio at 7:57 A.M., EST, and Venus which also enters Scorpio.

As with the first eclipse, exactly how it plays out in your life depends on what it is aspecting. It will affect Scorpio, Taurus, Aquarius and Leo, especially if you were born in the early degrees of these signs or 1-3 degrees, or you have personal planets in these signs and degrees.
