November astrology and a lunar eclipse!

In November we will experience the first of two powerful eclipses between now and the end of the year. Our November New Moon in Scorpio will be very changeable and unpredictable with Uranus in the mix, and it is considered a Supermoon. Supermoons are often associated with extreme weather events and can be very powerful.

The full moon this month falls on November 19th at 27 degrees of Taurus and this is a lunar eclipse. Taurus/Scorpio rule the 2nd/8th house axis of money, taxes, joint finances, other people’s money, possessions and values. This eclipse sets off a series of eclipses in Scorpio and Taurus that will continue into 2024, showing us there will be a greater focus on money, possessions and values over the next few years. The North and South nodes are mathematical points in astrology that show us our collective destiny and in January 2022, they will also shift into Taurus/Scorpio. The eclipses and the Nodes are pointing toward a collective interest or concern over money/finances and what we value the most over the next few years, and we will be forced as individuals and collectively to decide.

The Sun transits through Scorpio and then Sagittarius this month, Mars travels through Scorpio all month, and Venus moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn where it will retrograde in December. Saturn in Aquarius moves forward again after its long 5 month retrograde inching ever closer to its year end clash with Uranus which will bring change if not upheaval on many levels. Now, the details.

November 2nd, Mercury squares Pluto and this is the last pass of this powerful transit that occurred September 22-25th, and then again October 1-2nd due to Mercury’s retrograde. If you were affected by this aspect on the previous two dates you will be again, and reoccurring themes could come up. This is a transit that is indicative of digging to get to the bottom of something, obsessions or heavy thinking, arguments and propaganda, or someone trying to force their will on others. Expect another heavy news day as is so often the case these days.

November New Moon

November 4th, Novembers New Moon falls at 12 degrees of Scorpio and this is considered a supermoon. A supermoon appears closer to the earth and is associated with more extreme high and low tides as well as earthquakes and tidal waves.

This is a highly significant New Moon as it opposes Uranus along with the Sun in Scorpio. Uranus is the planet of freedom, and sometimes freedom is demanded at any cost. This will be a very unpredictable Moon bringing with it all kinds of surprises and unexpected situations, so it is best to remain flexible.

For some, this New moon will coincide with breaking away from things and individuals that are standing in the way. This can be the ending of a planned response such as leaving a job, or it can more likely be an unplanned response that occurs ‘out of the blue.’ If this is the case, it would be the result of tensions that have been building for some time. Uranus transits tend to cut away that which has outlived its purpose.

Profound breakthroughs can occur at this time, or you could experience an ‘ah ha’ moment when the light bulb finally comes on. Moon-Uranus can produce both excitement and anxiety and it is known to produce sudden, unanticipated results and events. Uranus deals with breakthroughs, separations, coups, aircraft, lightening and extreme weather to name just a few.

Mars in Scorpio can be a fearless fighter with great persistence, but Mars has entered its square to Saturn which will create a type of frustration, or even blocked energy so hard work is necessary to accomplishment. The desire to transform or change something may be there, but there will be blocks of to success with Mars, but this does not spell failure. A great deal can be accomplished with this transit and there can be a laser like focus at best.  The Mars-Saturn square will peak on November 10th, so there will be a period of frustration or delays before all obstacles can be overcome.

As Scorpio rules the 8th house of other people’s money, this New Moon may involve money or finances and changeability in this area, and potentially the financial markets.

Venus and its long stay in Capricorn

November 4th, Venus leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn where it will remain until March 6, 2022 due to its retrograde that will last from December 19-January 29, 2022.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of structure, work and responsibility so Venus in this sign has to do with the practical side of love, as opposed to a whirlwind type of romance or romantic feeling. Not that Capricorn can’t be romantic, but this will give us an opportunity to decide if our romantic interest is actually workable. If you are in a relationship, more attention will be focused on the pragmatic issues of partnership.

Venus in Capricorn gives love and social activities a more traditional, perhaps even enduring and committed flavor.

Sometimes there can be a desire for social prestige and attraction to those in positions of authority. We may experience ambition for wealth and status and may be attracted to those we meet in connection with work or in places of commerce.

Love and friendships may take on a more committed or serious tone during this period. Many will be looking for ways to make our lives and loves more real in a tangible sense.  Romance can be overshadowed by responsibility which will generally come first while Venus transits this sign.

Love must be earned while Venus is in this sign. Relationships will be built on a willingness to work together through difficult times, as Saturn understands the true meaning and value of commitment. Venus will reward hard work in relationships by defining obstacles and making the commitment together to solve them.

Venus in a Saturn ruled sign may not sound appealing to some, but it projects its own type of warmth, stability and security. When Venus retrogrades in December we will have another opportunity to analyze our partnerships and decisions to determine if they are truly meeting our needs.

Mercury enters Scorpio

Mercurial energy changes once again as the planet of communication enters Mars-Pluto ruled Scorpio where it will remain until November 24th, so this is a short cycle for Mercury. Mercury rules our communication and while in Scorpio we are typically searching, digging for truth and a little more suspicious in nature. Mercury in this sign will leave no stone unturned if we are looking for an answer. Our thinking and communication will be deep, and Scorpio is known as being relentless; in other words, we don’t give up easily.

Mercury in Scorpio communication is more direct and forceful (Mars) as well as probing, inquisitive and prone to reading between the lines (Pluto).

You can use Scorpio’s perceptive and calculating approach to concentrate and focus on what you want to direct your energy toward as Scorpio is very focused. Mercury in Scorpio is frank to the point of being blunt; at times too blunt. During this period we tend to churn ideas around quite a bit before reaching a final conclusion. As Scorpio is a fixed sign, decisions made at this time are often irreversible. Mercury-Scorpio is passionate in speech and communication but we must be careful about lecturing others. Others will be equally passionate, and quite a few secrets will be exchanged at this time. Our judgment will be at its best when it is not personal. If this happens the emotional side of Scorpio may take over and we could lose objectivity.

November 10th is a stand out day for Mercury as it conjuncts Mars, and both Mercury and Mars square Saturn. Mercury-Mars is prone to irritation, arguments and accidents, but it can also be a great deal of conversation and planning. Mercury and Mars square Saturn can be a frustrating and tiring type of energy that leans toward the serious to negative side. With Saturn in the mix responsibilities will be front and center and we may feel blocked in some way for a few days. If you can overcome this obstacle you can accomplish a great deal. This is a day to be aware of the energy and careful when driving or undertaking any other physical activity as this aspect is accident prone.

November 13th, Another accident prone aspect as Mercury opposes Uranus so use care, especially on the road. This is also indicative of unexpected news, twists and turns. There may be a feeling of excitement or a desire to take a new approach to something. Being flexible this day is key.

November 17th, Mars opposes Uranus. Uranus is the planet of unpredictability and it is likely this day will be changeable in some way. Mars is considered the God of War and its opposition to Uranus can produce conflicts, rash behavior and changeability.  Others may try and argue and it is best this day to use patience and pick your battles very carefully. This will be a heavy news day with the potential for volatility or accidents.

The November Solar eclipse

A solar eclipse occurs in the early morning hours of November 19th, (EDT) and it falls at 27 degrees of Taurus. Taurus rules the 2nd house of money and its planetary ruler is Venus, the planet of money and love. Most people will be focused on money, love and values at this time. Its affects are different for different people depending on where this eclipse falls in your personal natal chart.

Eclipses are like wildcards, and one of the ways we learn how and what we need to change and evolve. An eclipse can seem positive or negative, depending on what it aspects in your personal chart and often an eclipse is dramatic, or reveals important information if it aspects a significant point in your own chart or if some other transit is exact in your chart at the same time.  An eclipse often brings news pertaining to life's biggest events. The energy of an eclipse can go for months and in some cases years.

With an eclipse we have both endings and beginnings. A solar eclipse is more like a new beginning, and it is always a new moon. A lunar eclipse can bring news of endings and it is associated with a full moon.

Almost always unexpected information comes to light and at this time something may be eclipsed completely out of your life, or into your life.

Another eclipse like this one occurred November 19, 2002. Solar eclipses repeat themselves every 19 years and if you can remember what was happening then, you may have a clue as to how this eclipse will affect you this time around.

Venus is sextile Mars, so sparks can fly in your love and social life.. This is positive for any communication with those you care about or even in business so this creates a positive and upbeat energy. Mars is however, still within orb of its opposition to Uranus from November 17th, so things could change or not go as planned.

This eclipse kicks off a series of eclipses that will last for the next 2 years that aspect the Taurus-Scorpio axis. This points to a collective focus on money, finances, and personal values, and change or transformation on many levels.

November 21, Sun enters Sagittarius

When the Sun enters Sagittarius we are in the mutable part of fall when the weather shifts toward the winter season, and the Sun will remain in this sign until November 22.

Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion and Sagittarius is typically an upbeat and positive sign for the Sun to transit through. While the Scorpio season can be quite intense, Sagittarius is not really interested in drama, heaviness or intensity. Sagittarius rules the 9th house in astrology or the part of the horoscope that concerns education and philosophy, travel, legal matters/courts and your personal world viewpoint.  Energies will shift dramatically as Sagittarius is the antithesis of Scorpio with its typical happy go lucky attitude, big dreams and desire for new escapades, journeys and trips down the road less traveled.

Sagittarius is the precursor to the holiday season with all of the typical parties, social activity and gatherings. Like Gemini and Virgo, Sagittarius is considered a mutable sign which means it can be very changeable and with Sagittarius things can frequently go in a different direction than you might think. Sagittarius represents the bold, the different and the often untried, and a Sagittarius is often one of the hardest people to ever pin down. Freedom is a theme with this sign and with the Sun in the sign. You may feel strongly that you want to cut the ties with any person or situation that seems to hold you back.

Sagittarius is self assured, sometimes to the point of cockiness, being totally honest and at times putting their foot in their mouths. If you don’t keep things in check you could express these qualities to the point of annoying someone. Sagittarius is typically so self assured they often don’t realize their cockiness can turn some people off. Sagittarius is known for their fiery cheerfulness but their frequently overblown optimism can lead them to inflated ideas and expectations.

Mercury enters Sagittarius

Mercury joins the Sun in Sagittarius November 24th, and will remain in this sign until December 13th. Like the Sun in this sign, Mercury’s change of energy will be somewhat obvious. Our thoughts may turn to travel and our thinking will be broader and greatly expanded. We may also feel more buoyant, upbeat and impulsive.

Mercury is not totally comfortable in this energy, but this does not mean things will take a negative turn. In Sagittarius, Mercury worries about the bigger picture of things but can lose track of smaller but important details.

Mercury in this sign is associated with expansion and the spreading of knowledge that can have a great deal of depth. This is an outgoing time and socializing with others will come easier than normal even for those who are shy. This Mercury is about visions of the future and can shine a light on that that which needs to be brought to light.

The challenge with Mercury in this sign is developing discernment in the quest for truth and not falling prey to every idea that crosses your path or blowing an idea totally out of proportion. Expect to be more open to new ideas, people and life in general. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign and mutable signs are subject to change and fire signs are prone to action.

Mercury in Sag is idealistic, visionary, and dynamic and does not like to be bored. Our minds can get restless easily and we may experience a need for something bigger than normal to occupy the mind.

Sagittarius likes to take the broadest perspective of ideas and concepts. We may go through quite a few mental adventures and twists over the next few weeks.

The downside of Mercury in Sag can lead to speaking without first thinking, exaggerating, or saying things that just are not true. Our minds may wander more than usual and you can expect to have a more open and flexible mind at this time.

Other transits in November

All Saints Day, or November 1st, we begin the month with the optimistic trine between Mercury and Jupiter. This is positive, hopeful and a good day for any type of presentation or meeting. It’s a good transit to start the work week.

November 6th, Mercury sextiles Venus. This is positive for any type of communication and you may desire conversation and to reach out to others.

November 12th, The sun trines Neptune. This is soft, pleasant and creative energy. Compassion is also Neptune’s realm and you may help another person or be helped by others.

November 15th, the Sun squares Jupiter. This is generally positive energy, but be aware that certain things can be blown out of proportion.

November 16th, the Sun sextiles Pluto. This is a positive time for getting to the bottom of any question, or dealing with groups. Communication should be direct to the point.

November 18th, Venus trines Uranus. This is a day to do or try something different. Looks for unexpected adventures and opportunities that show up.

November 20th, Mercury squares Jupiter. This aspect is a great deal like the Sun square Jupiter except conversations may be exaggerated and things blown out of proportion.

November 28th, the Sun conjuncts Mercury. This can be a willful type of energy and be aware that egos may come into play today.

November 29th, Mars trines Neptune. This is a creative and somewhat spiritual type of energy for some. Creativity, compassion and intuition will rule the day.

Also, Mercury sextiles Saturn. This is a positive day for to the point communication, planning, accomplishing things you need to do, and your thoughts could revert to the past or something from the past.

November 30th, Venus sextiles Neptune. This is a pleasant energy that can deal with romance, beautiful things, creativity and social activities. Dreams may seem unusually vivid.

Happy Thanksgiving this month. May we all be aware of just how much we really have to be thankful for.

Unpredictable New Moon in Scorpio!

The November New Moon falls on November 4th and the lunar peak occurs at 5:15 EDT. This is considered a ‘Supermoon’ which appears closer to the earth and is associated with more extreme high and low tides as well as earthquakes and tidal waves.

The Moon rules women, home, family and our emotions. Its opposition to Uranus can bring about all kinds of unexpected surprises from others, along with changeable emotions. Uranus often is found in coups, rebellions and circumstances where someone or a group of individuals want to be liberated from something or someone, good or bad, warranted or not.

For some, this New moon will coincide with breaking away from things and individuals you feel are standing in your way. This can be the ending of a planned response such as leaving a job, or it can more likely be an unplanned response that occurs ‘out of the blue.’ If this is the case, it would be the result of tensions that have been building for some time. Uranus transits tend to cut away that which has outlived its purpose.

This moon also squares Saturn; the taskmaster and planet of restrictions and responsibility. This is usually associated with work and responsibilities, and sometimes can have a tiring affect.

Profound breakthroughs can occur at this time, or you could experience an ‘ah ha’ moment when the light bulb finally comes on. Moon-Uranus can produce both excitement and anxiety as it is known to produce sudden, unanticipated results and events. Much change will occur on and around this moon.

Mars in Scorpio can be a fearless fighter with great persistence, but Mars has entered its square to Saturn which will create a type of frustration, or even blocked energy so hard work is necessary to accomplishment. The desire to transform or to change something may be there, but there can be blocks of to success with Mars, but this does not spell failure. A great deal can be accomplished with this transit and there can be a laser like focus at best.  The Mars-Saturn square will peak on November 10th, so this energy will be with us for a while.

As Scorpio rules the 8th house of other people’s money, this New Moon may involve situations involving money or finances and changeability in this area.

In the US (Sibly) chart this moon can produce unexpected events that could come from a subversive element, or we could see new revelations of some type and in all likelihood both. Money and communication will be front and center, and it will be a heavy news day. Moon-Uranus aspects can deal with changeable and unexpected financial markets, weather or earth conditions, air and spacecraft, volatile situations and new and cutting edge breakthroughs. There could be significant news concerning women on or around this new moon.

A fiery full moon in Aries!

This month’s full moon falls at 27 degrees of Aries in the early morning hours of October 20th. Aries is a hot fire sign so this will not be a laid back type of energy. Aries rules the first house of self and matters of self importance. As it opposes the 7th house (Libra) this full moon will have a theme of ‘we versus me’, and issues concerning marriage and partnerships may come up, as well as relationships of all types. Aries is bold and likes to initiate but putting down boundaries may be in order as well. Aries can also act in a rash manner, acting out first and thinking later.

Because of the Libra Sun we are aware of a need for relationships with others and balance and compromise, but the Aries moon is very self assertive.

As this full moon squares Pluto we may find ourselves caught in an emotional crossfire of emotions. Pluto is the planet of change and regeneration, but it also represents things and situations that can be revealed we were previously unaware of. Pluto rules sex, bullies, power structures, major change, breakdowns and decay. It is possible we could get caught up in some type of situation where we could have to choose whether or not to move forward or change something altogether, which is not always negative. At best, something we have been working on could come together at this time.

Mars squares Pluto and becomes exact the following day, October 21st making this energy very powerful on the full moon. This increases the potential for volatility and anger. Mars-Pluto is associated with anger, violence, complete change, fights, issues concerning joint finances and sex. Be aware of this energy, least you get dragged into an argument or angry moment you would rather avoid. Now will be the time to exercise patience, caution and good judgment. Physical exercise is not a bad idea either as an outlet for this energy.

In the US chart this moon falls in the 4th house which rules the core of the country or the foundation and it squares Pluto and Mercury. This will create issues concerning abuse of power by certain factions or people, issues concerning money, finances, control, death, emotionally charged issues, young people and important communications. With Mars there is a possibility we could see some type of volatility or accident.

Finding new opportunities!

Jupiter turn direct the evening of October 17th, and this will be an obvious shift in energy. Mercury turns ‘stationary direct’ October 17.- At this time Mercurial energy changes once again, and plans, ideas and your direction may change again as well. We are not quite out of the woods yet in terms of Mercury’s retrograde and at times this can be the most significant point of the retrograde along with the first few days after the retrograde begins. As Mercury begins to move forward again October 22, expect things to begin to level out and return to normal. That said there is still a post retrograde shadow period that lasts until November 3rd. But, as Mercury moves forward once again, so will we.

As Mercury turns direct we may pick up where we left off in late September as Mercury will once again transit through the sign of Libra until November 5th. As Mercury moves forward any issues in relationships, partnerships, marriage or matters relating to courts should begin to see resolution but we will remain focused on these matters until Mercury completes its transit through Libra which is not until November 5th.

Jupiter is the planet of growth, expansion and optimism and turned retrograde June 20th at 2 degrees of Pisces. July 28th Jupiter retrograded back into Aquarius where it will remain until the end of the year. Jupiter’s retrograde can be compared to a horse being trained to race. Instead of running wild and free, it learns when and how to run to win. As Jupiter turns direct (October 18th, 1:30AM, EDT) we have done work on an inner level and are once again ready to start the race!

Jupiter is one of two financial planets, and if this is making a positive aspect in your chart, you could see gain and optimism. This is typically a time when hopefulness increases and we reach a turning point for the better. This should be an extra positive occurrence with both Jupiter and Mercury turning direct so get ready to move forward!

October astrology: The planet of gain and expansion turns direct!

October brings a major shift in energies as 4 significant planets turn direct. Get ready for things to pick up steam on many different levels after Mercury (and Jupiter) turn direct October 18th.

Mercury remains retrograde for the first half of the month in the sign of Libra which rules relationships, partnerships, courts and marriage. Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter all turn direct this month and Jupiter goes direct on October 18th, the same day Mercury also changes direction. If Jupiter makes a positive aspect in your chart your may see benefits of some type or even financial gain in certain cases. The Sun transits through Libra this month and enters Scorpio on October 23rd. Venus, the planet of love and money transits through Scorpio and then enters Sagittarius. Mars, the action planet and ‘God of war’ completes its transit through peace loving Libra and enters Scorpio October 30th. We have a Libra new moon on October 6th and a powerful full moon in Aries October 20.

A change of direction this month

As we begin October, 6 out of 10 planets are still retrograde, most of them slow moving. The outer planets retrograde for several months every year, but this is not always completely obvious like retrograde Mercury is because they work on a more subtle level.

The first planet to turn direct is Pluto on October 6th. During Pluto’s retrograde anything that has been festering in the unconsciousness may force its way into the conscious at this time. Pluto’s direct motion is a powerful planetary change and things that have been hidden, both individually and collectively will start to show themselves for what they are. Legal situations that have been put on hold may move forward as can anything of this nature when Pluto turns direct.

Secrets or previously unknown information may suddenly be revealed or come out of the shadows at this time. Pluto rules the dark and hidden undercurrents, sex, bullies, nuclear energy and raw power or those who hold such power. Pluto also rules ultimate major change and transformation and typically when Pluto turns direct we see major events transpire in the world. With this powerful planet waking up we can see shifts in our own and the collective conscious over the next month.

Saturn is the next planet to turn direct on October 11th. Saturn is referred to as the taskmaster, and typically shows us where our boundaries are, often through more difficult circumstances. When Saturn is making a difficult aspect in your chart, the most challenging period typically plays out during the retrograde cycle which happens every year. During Saturn’s retrograde we often have to step back and take a look at where we are in life and where we are going. As Saturn moves forward, expect the things you are working on to pick up steam, and by now any issues connected with Saturn (depending on where it is located in your chart) that you have been working on should find resolution.

Both Mercury and Jupiter turn direct October 18th, and this will be the most obvious shift in energy. Mercury turns ‘stationary direct’ October 18-22. At this time Mercurial energy changes once again, and plans, ideas and your direction may change again as well.

As Jupiter turns direct we have done work on an inner level and are once again ready to start the race!

Jupiter is one of two financial planets, and if this is making a positive aspect in your chart, you could see gain and optimism. This is typically a time when hopefulness increases and we reach a turning point for the better. This should be an extra positive occurrence with both Jupiter and Mercury turning direct at 1:30AM and 11:17 AM EDT, respectively.

New and full moon in October

The New moon this month falls at 13 degrees of Libra on October 6th. The new moon joins a stellium, or a group of 3 planets-in this case, the Sun, Mars and Mercury all in the same sign, and this is a lot of Libra energy.

Libra is a generally peace loving sign ruled by planet Venus which is why it is linked to love and romance. Mercury is retrograde in Libra, bringing up issues to be resolved and at times we may connect with those from the past. As Mercury is retrograde sometimes events connected to the new moon can be delayed by a matter of days.

The Libra Moon is conjunct the Sun and Mars as well as Mercury. Sun-Mars can create a bold, courageous and dynamic type of energy, but egos may come into play as well. Moon-Mars can lead upsets and agitation concerning our emotions, home, the domestic scene and women in particular. This combination can relate to energy, initiative and passion, but also anger and potential violence. Moon-Mercury is associated with conversation, travel, pets and young people so communication is in the mix. This new moon marks an auspicious moment in the US natal chart, pointing to anger, disruption and potential volatility. In view of the fact Pluto turns direct about 6 hours after this new moon, it is likely we will see some significant event in the world and it could be volatile.

It is important to direct your energy into something constructive at this time as opposed to letting the energy direct you. If you do not direct the energy the more negative description of this Moon can manifest. If directed wisely it can lead to solid accomplishment.

Full moon in fiery Aries

This month’s full moon falls at 27 degrees of Aries. Aries is a hot fire sign so this will not be a laid back type of energy. Aries rules the first house of self and matters of self importance. As it opposes the 7th house (Libra) this full moon will have a theme of ‘we versus me’, and issues concerning marriage and partnerships may come up.

Because of the Libra Sun we are aware of a need for relationships with others and balance and compromise, but the Aries moon is self assertive.

As this full moon squares Pluto we may find ourselves caught in an emotional crossfire of emotions that may come up. Pluto is the planet of change and regeneration, but it also represents things and situations that can be revealed we were previously unaware of. Pluto rules sex, bullies, power structures, major change. It is possible we could get caught up in some type of situation where we could have to choose whether or not to move forward or change something altogether, which is not always negative. At best, something we have been working on could come together.

Mars squares Pluto and become exact the following day, October 21st. This increases the powerful and volatile potential of this full moon. Mars-Pluto is associated with anger, violence, complete change, fights, issues concerning joint finances and sex. Be aware of this energy, least you get dragged into an argument or angry moment you would rather avoid. Now will be the time to exercise patience, caution and good judgment.

In the US chart this moon represents unknown factors, issues concerning money, finances, communications, death and young people. There is a possibility we could see some type of violence or accident.

Other significant transits in October:

October 1-2, Mercury squares Pluto and Mercury is retrograde. At this time you may have to go back and repeat or re-consider something you may thought was finished. This is the 2nd pass of this aspect, having occurred earlier September 21-23rd. This aspect may uncover something of importance, and is considered an obsessive type of energy prone to irritation, arguments, accidents and those who may push their own viewpoints as well as propaganda. This aspect will repeat a 3rd time on November 2nd, when Mercury is direct.

October 7th Venus enters Sagittarius

When the planet of love and money enters Sagittarius things may get a lot more fun and interesting. This energy will be far different from the Scorpio energy we have become used to over the last number of weeks. While Scorpio is deep, intense and sometimes brooding, Sagittarius is lighter and buoyant and geared toward new experiences and living life to the fullest.

Venus in Sagittarius has been known to gallop away quickly if things get too heavy or serious, especially if a new relationship is involved. Typically, Sagittarius can be the most restless of signs and cannot stand to be bored or held back. Venus-Sagittarius does not like confrontations or discord and sometimes likes to wear rose colored glasses.

Sagittarius is associated with freedom and experimentation as well as jovial and upbeat times. Serious minded lovers may find this harder to deal with along with those who a looking for a commitment. Emotional drama does not typically go over well with Venus in this sign. Sagittarius is about expanding your outlook and definition of what pleases you. You may find yourself in a more idealistic mode over the next few weeks and expect your lover to keep up. This may singe the wing of the more sensitive types as can the typical Sagittarius blunt honesty.

Sagittarius love begins with friendship and may seem more like a universal type of love. Romantic adventures, truth and higher meaning are the qualities that will take priority during our time with Venus in this sign.

October 18th, Mars trines Jupiter. This gives an extra boost to Jupiter’s direct motion today. This energy can be exuberant and is a good day for presentations or approaching others in business or personal life.

October 22, the Sun squares Pluto. This aspect occurs several times a year and is indicative of change, regeneration, power struggles, and arguments and should be handled carefully and methodically. If you push someone, expect pushback. This will be another heavy news day.

October 22nd, the Sun enters Scorpio

The Sun enters Scorpio today and will remain here until November 21st. The Sun in Scorpio is the third sign of fall, and the time when the weather shifts toward winter.

Scorpio is a water sign like Cancer and Pisces with several big differences. Scorpio is considered the most intense sign of the zodiac and can be overly sensitive, brooding, mysterious, emotional and sexual. Scorpio can suffer from fits of jealousy at times unless they are highly evolved. On the other hand, Scorpio can be a loyal friend and trusted companion if you can ever break down their barriers get to know them well enough.

Words that describe Scorpio energy are brooding, self-contained, secretive, ambitious, deep, dark, determined, loyal, jealous, resentful, stubborn, controlling and transformative.

Each sign is connected to a planet or planets, and in this case Scorpio is connected to both Mars and Pluto. Mars is considered the planet of action and sex, and sex is something that Scorpio tends to be focused on with a laser like focus. Pluto is the planet of change and transformation or rebirth, and in a lifetime Scorpio can typically reinvent themselves many times. No one likes a comeback better than Scorpio.

Scorpio is the detective or investigator of the zodiac and turning up facts or unknown information is something that Scorpio can excel at. Scorpio takes little at face value and is always digging and searching for the truth and deeper meaning.

During the Scorpio season we must guard against paranoia, and very little will seem shallow at this time. Scorpio’s best qualities can become their worst qualities when it comes to trust and openness. Trust must be something earned for Scorpio and only after trust has been established can openness become a priority. Once trust is established however, you can have a friend for life, or until you do something to prove you are not worthy of the friendship. If this becomes the case you will be a persona non grata for life.

Mars enters Scorpio

October 30th, Mars joins the Sun and enters Scorpio and will begin its every other year transit through this sign where it will remain until December 13th this year.

In Scorpio, Mars is considered ‘at home’ in the most intense of signs and the natural ruler of the eighth house of death, taxes, other people's money, debt, and transformation.

This will create a significant energy shift as Mars in Libra has been ‘at its detriment,’ or in the sign it is least at home in. Mars in Scorpio is in the sign of its rulership, making it very effective and powerful for the time.

Mars is our ‘action’ planet and rules all personal action, courage and confidence, sex, men, police and military, to name a few.

While in this sign our actions are more driven and focused on getting what we want. We may feel as though we are more persevering and focused.

Mars-Scorpio can create a desire to experience more emotional depth and dig beneath the surface of things to find out what lies underneath our passions, motivations and actions.

We are not inclined to avoid important issues at this time as we may have been while Mars was in Libra. Mars-Scorpio can be attracted to crisis situations and view them as emotionally exciting or transformative in some way.

Mars in Scorpio should work well for the water and earth signs. There will be more challenges for those born with or under the fixed signs; Taurus, Leo Scorpio and Aquarius. As this begins a new 2 year Mars cycle for Scorpio, expect life to become very busy.

Venus enters Scorpio

September 10th, Venus leaves Libra and enters Scorpio where it remains until October 7th, and love energy changes once again. Venus in Libra is 'lighter,' and Libra generally seeks balance and harmony whereas Scorpio is more intense, and can be considered heavier or even obsessive in nature. Love is a serious matter to those with Venus in Scorpio, as is money, and Venus rules both along with our values.

No sign is better than another but a planet can be better placed where it operates easily and more smoothly. Venus in Scorpio is considered ‘at its detriment,’ by astrologers which means it doesn’t operate as easily as in does in other signs and the energy can misbehave, so to speak, and so can we!

Venus in the signs is a matter of love styles more than anything. If you were born with a Venus in Scorpio your approach to love will be far different from a Venus in Libra or Cancer or any other sign for that matter.

Venus in Scorpio can attract others with their intensity and a willingness to make commitments. Feelings run deep, but at times they can display jealousy or a desire to dominate.

Venus in Scorpio can become so intense that at worst some could feel obsessively entangled with someone they may not even know that well. Since Scorpio is water sign feelings and emotions can seem overpowering and this can be difficult for some, especially for Fire and Air signs.

Scorpio is known as the sexiest of the twelve signs and for Scorpio sex is at the top of the list. Scorpio is complex and craves intimacy like air but they are not always open in terms of what they should tell or express to their lover. Scorpio is secretive in nature and can be looking for power over his/her lover or to use sex to manipulate those feelings. Venus in Scorpio will bring intensity and passion to the bedroom. Scorpio considers sex personal, erotic and necessary to emotional survival. Feelings run deep, but at times Scorpio can display fiery jealousy with a touch of revenge. Once burned, Venus in Scorpio never forgets, and can spend years dwelling on someone they feel hurt by.

On the other hand Venus in this sign can be a magical and passionate time that you never forget. Loyalty is important to Venus in Scorpio and it is typically reciprocated. Scorpio can have a wonderful ability to heal and regenerate both yourself and others.

Several dates will be important during Venus’s transit through Scorpio.

September 17th Venus squares Saturn. This can be a tiring transit and issues in relationships or with money may surface. A breakup of some sort can occur if this aspects an important point in your chart, but is typically not serious enough to cause one otherwise. Work and responsibility may rule the day rather than love and social matters, as Saturn likes to focus on what must be done. This aspect can make you feel lonely, shy, unloved or unappreciated but if this is the case, this energy will pass within 25 hours so it is nothing to take seriously or act on.

September 23rd Venus opposes Uranus but the energy will be felt the day before. This can be a pleasant and exciting day filled with change and new opportunities, or it can be a day fraught with unexpected changes and unsettling news. Uranus is the planet associated with sudden and unexpected events and new and bold ways of approaching things.  Again, it depends on how this aspects your personal chart but Uranus wants us to experience new possibilities that are typically outside the box. Go with the flow on this day and take advantage of all opportunities and changes that come your way, but be aware sometimes things that occur on Uranus transits disappear as quickly as they began. You could be concerned with money matters on this day, and we often see changes in the financial markets when this aspect occurs.
