The
first solar eclipse of 2022 falls on April 30th at 10 degrees of
Taurus. This is a partial solar eclipse that is not visible in the US. A solar
eclipse is like a super charged New Moon.
Eclipses are like
wildcards that frequently reveal previously unknown information and can bring
us to turning points and ah ha moments. An eclipse can produce positive or
negative results depending on what is in doing your chart. Eclipses frequently
bring surprises, unexpected information and are often connected with major life
events. The energy of an eclipse begins before it occurs and can last for at
least 30 days and often much longer depending on the strength of the eclipse.
A solar eclipse
similar to this one occurred April 29, 2003 at 8 degrees of Taurus and other
eclipses fell in Scorpio-Taurus 2003-2004. If you can remember this date, you might have
a clue as to what this eclipse will bring, although history never repeats
itself in exactly the same way as we make many changes over a 19 year period as
well as handling and viewing things differently.
Taurus rules the
second house of money and opposes the 8th house of other people’s
money so this eclipse will be about finances, directly or indirectly and we may
reconsider our finances, make financial decisions or find ways to increase our
income. Taurus’s ruler Venus is connected with love, money and values as well,
so we will be thinking along these lines as well and changes in relationships
can occur. All things connected with
Venus including sensuality and self worth can become front and center as well
as our own personal values.
Venus is the ruler of
this eclipse and Venus is conjunct Jupiter. This is pleasant, relaxing energy
that can be associated with love, social activities and financial transactions.
Since this eclipse is in sync with Mars this can be an action oriented period
of time. Venus and Jupiter form a sextile to Pluto which is a harmonious aspect
that can give us insights into regenerating relationships and emotional habits
as well as the ability to express our feelings more easily than normal.
The Moon also
conjuncts Uranus. This is prone to sudden and unexpected events and is
emotionally changeable. You could experience this as an exciting time to try
new things, or alternatively it could produce a nervous and restless type of
energy. Moon-Uranus can relate to a desire toward freedom or to feel freer and
unbound. While this is a very unpredictable aspect we have a great deal of
planetary support to make creative change. Nevertheless, we can expect some
unexpected things to occur; they can be small events in some cases or quite
large.
On the world stage
there will be a focus on finances, money and values. As the Moon is conjunct Uranus we
can expect unexpected situations to occur during the eclipse and before. Uranus
rules air and spacecraft, explosions, explosive circumstances and unpredictable
change. It also can be associated with rebellions, coups and the overthrow of
governments. Unexpected weather conditions can occur.
It is well worth noting that Pluto turns retrograde April 29th. This typically coincides with significant world events and changes of direction especially if it occurs during an eclipse. Situations, people and entities can collapse or change direction completely and Pluto deals with destruction, corruption and those who force their will on others. With Venus, Jupiter and Neptune all in Pisces things can be confused or hidden from view until they actually happen. This also begins Pluto's backward motion once again coinciding with the US Pluto return which will change many things and bring corruption and needed change into the light. Pluto is trine Mercury and sextile Jupiter as it begins its retrograde which adds support and we will likely hear important news.
This eclipse is
prominent in the chart of Donald Trump, US President Joe Biden, Vladimir Putin,
and Volodmyr Zelenskyy to name only a few.
There could also be a
focus on women or a well known woman in the public view. This certainly
includes Madeline Albright whose funeral takes place on April 27th.
